Yes.
Try asking in the thread.
Basically you will just replace you current android build with this one. Except you will want to keep your data.img (for your settings and apps)

Hi,
yes i wannt keep it.
At the moment, i have backup'd anything on the SD-Card for test the rom without my Data.img.
The rom reboot after 10 sec android have started ... endless loop.
-> I stay @ 2.0 Release..
Thanks,
Rubi

[FILE][ZIP] CWM - GAPPS with new market 2.2.7 - Works with MDJ Ginger 2.x

Hey guys,
Just thought I'd share this with you. This is a fairly new GAPPS I pulled from a Cyanogen forum post for you guys that still don't have the new market app. It's a Clockwork zip, so it installs through CWM. Tested and works perfectly on a fresh install of MDJ Gingerbread 2.0 and 2.1. I got it from a CM6 thread, so it seems to be compatible with it also.
Edit - New link is Gingerbread official GAPPS, must be flashed with Clockwork v1.1!
Enjoy!
-- LINKS TAKEN DOWN -- People are having issues and causing more damage to their ROMs than supposed to. Will fix and get back to everyone. Sorry!
WARNING: MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR IMAGE AND APPLICATIONS BEFORE INSTALLING! I did it on a CLEAN ROM and cannot promise that it will work for everyone on a pre-installed ROM.
Any news on this?

Android 2.2.1
Kernel 2.6.29.6
Mod CM 6.1.1. Spica a 8.3
First I had Eclair Android 2.1 on my phone.
Then I decide to change, cause I red under Android 2.2 Flash would be working.
After the installation of CM, I did whats in the instruction.
I copied both files on the sdcard/root. Then recovery and install the the *.zip.
Reboot. Then I installed the *.apk after the phone is back to normal mode.
Maybe their is no FlashPlayer for CM 6.1.1???
Thx
I can't say for sure, I'm still using Eclair, you have to search Samdroid to get an answer.
I have working FlashLite from Samdroid kitchen (android 2.1).

Uninstall Gingerbread MIUI 2.3.4 on Galaxy S

Hello, i need to uninstall Miui Gingerbread to install the official Gingerbread, i'm much more used to it, how can i do it?? Already tried to clean up the data and system and tried the Sam's firmaware last gingerbread but it would not worked.. Is it possible to downgrade to 2.2 and then install 2.3.3??
Greetings
Yes it is possible to downgrade for 2.3.3 to 2.2(.1 in my case)
I can't remember exactly how I did it, but I basically followed the instructions to install MIUI, but for a 2.2 ROM, so wiping data, system and cache, then flashing a darky ROM (but should work with any tbh)
Dead easy. Just install the Samsung Android 2.3.3 XWJVB ROM (link - http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-install-xwjvb-gingerbread-rom-gaalxy-s/)
But before you install XWJVB, install the EZRom to remove/uninstall the MIUI. It's available in two versions, select the one you want:
Android 2.2 based EZRom - http://www.theandroidsoul.com/ezbase-ezrom-for-android-2-2-install-revert-back/
Android 2.3 based EZRom - http://www.theandroidsoul.com/ezbase-rom-v3-0-full-installation-guide-w-video/
Credits and Thanks to Nitr8 for great EZRoms

problem from 2.3.4 to room cooked

hi all,
if i flash the 2.3.4. can i flash after any firmware coocked? I have already flashed it to 2.3.4 and when i try to fash any room coocked i have the phone in black screen and doesn't start. there is some problems about the update related to bootloder update ?
Long story short: if you flash the official 2.3.4 rom (kernel), you lose the option (at least at the moment) to downgrade it.
Since most of the current roms for the Milestone 2 (MIUI and CM7 - both "vanilla" by tezet and ICS themed by endless7) use the older kernel, you can't use them anymore.
You could try MS2Ginger by walter79, which is based on the 2.3.4 kernel (the Chinese one).

Let me know if you need any other details.

hi there
well to backup your stock rom first of all you need to root your phone with superoneclick google it.Then install latest 2nd init form here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032212.after that reboot and when your phone blinks blue push vol down button to get into bootmenu.select custom recovery/backup all(to backup you rom)
3)either you download epsy/quarks ics build http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432100 or aopk http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1585425 and the ics gapps.then move those to sd card and enter bootmenu again select wipe data/cache and install zip from sd card:chose one of the 2 above and the gapps after finish reboot and VOILA ics
How is camera in ICSROM?

Thank you, have some questions again
Thank you very much for replying, i am half journey way to start updating to ICS
i have downloaded epsy CM9-NIGHTLY-120406-Defy.zip, is it right one? is there a stable version?
when to overlock the cpu after installing ICS or can be done before?
I'm not sure if there's a stable CM9 release for Defy.

After the update..
I'm using 06.04 by Epsylon3 with Froyo kernel and green lens: I find it stable enough, good for day to day usage. There's no CM9 stable version, not even a RC one.
You can overclock the CPU from the bootmenu, although CM9 comes with 1GHz standard. Maybe undervolt it a bit.
Trimis de pe Defy CM9

We need froyo kernel because we have SOC (green) camera ;-(
So we need to flash CM7 kernel too. If you use CM9 kernel, then your SOC camera will not work
Procedures in this thread in the first post
I also had to flash ICS Gapps zip (somehow ommited in the procedure)
You can use mentioned nightly - works fine
I would propose to use titanium backup from the market to backup all your apps with data - then you can simply restore them back with all data inside (but your apps - do not restore system apps)
