[Q] The best setting of Auto Memory Manager od X10i - XPERIA X10 General

Hi guys,
While I am waiting for the Eclair-update,I am finding the best setting of Auto Memory Manager.
Currently I am using the setting 19,20,20,40,95,190.
No mater I tried how many times, the CPU performance result of my X10i using the Quadrant Advanced is always lower than the standard result.
Can anyone share your setting so that I can make a change?Thx a lots

Best setting would be uninstall it, I have yet to find any mem manager that helps. I usually average about 500 with generic 026 firmware (generic LAM (b)) . Highest i've managed to score was 528, but that was when I ran the bench in the freazer at 0 deg C full bat and plugged in to power. I do recomend using setCPU app to lock the device to it's max freq if you want to see the absolute highest score for your x10.
Sent from my Rooted 026 X10a using XDA App

Wow,I never got a result higher than 499.
Well, due to the first Eclair-update will be released for north-Europe,I will now flash the R2BA026 Generic to my X10
Thx for u r reply

[INFO] SetCPU Settings for the Vibrant

SetCPU. In my personal opinion, one of the best Android apps out there. It lets you overclock/underclock your phone. Here I will describe how to set it up for the Vibrant so you do not brick/crash your phone.
1. Uncheck/DO NOT Check Set on Boot (this will cause crashes in most phones if checked)
2. Set the CPU Governor type to "Conservative"
3. If you're using a kernel such as JAC's OC/UV(/VOODOO) set the MAX Clock speed at 1.2Ghz, also set the MINIMUM clock speed at 200MHz (not doing this could cause random crashes/reboots/freezes)
4. Don't underclock too low (as this could cause crashes), I recommend nothing below 750MHz (although it could *probably* run at 400MHz, no lower though!)
5. Don't blame the dev of your kernel or SetCPU's dev if you break your Vibrant, you shouldn't do something you know nothing about.
6. Set a warning up so if your Vibrant gets hotter than 115° Fahrenheit SetCPU will alert you. (125° Fahrenheit is when your Vibrant will start to get damaged.)
7. Always ask if this works on the ROM you have flashed before you try to use it on the ROM.
8. SetCPU is free for XDA members only.
9. This will NOT work on the Vibrant's Stock kernel, a new one must be flashed (such as JAC's OC/UV(/VOODOO) kernel or Kingklick's OC/UV Kernel)
That is all.
A couple of things:
1. It's been found that setting the minimum to 200 MHz is too low on some ROMs and can cause problems with some applications, like Pandora. Users have reported that setting the minimum to 400 MHz alleviates those problems.
2. SetCPU is and has been free for some time to XDA members. However, if you like the application, you should throw the dev some coins and buy it in the market or make a donation.

I am interested in how you have determined this.
How legit are these instructions, im interested in this app. Since im running bionix 1.9.1 jacs oc/uv rom.

I agree with most of what the OP is saying, I've been using setcpu since my G1. I'm currently running Fusion 1.0 with JAC kernel. I have 200 min with 1200 max. No set on boot and no profiles. I'm not sure about the damage temp, I've ran the gps for an hour with the phone in direct sunlight and it hasnt gotten that high.
This is what works for me, as well as many other users, and the issues posted here have been reported by many users. Also to the person with JAC's OC/UV Kernel, this app is required. If it isn't used, you can experience random freezes/crashes/reboots.

Yes, this is true, but the only time time the vibrant will reach 200MHz (100MHz if SetCPU isn't used) is when the phone is idle.
Double post, apologies.
i have set on boot checked on bionix 1.9.1 with no problems. 200min,1200max, conservative.
Im running the bionix 1.9.1 with jacs oc/uv. I havent installed the set cpu app yet and my phone is running great. Im working on getting up the nerve to try it.

Do eet! The worst that will happen is that your CPU can't handle an overclock and you'll be stuck at 200/1000. Cross your fingers!
It is worth the money for the developer, for sure.
Also, can you post your source for the temperatures you listed? Seems kind of low for Fahrenheit. Especially since where I live those temps are just above room temperature sometimes
Ok. Just installed and set 1200.max 400 min. Will post latet let everyone know.if I notice a differnce. Phone does seem snappier, or could be.my imagination. Lol

Quick, possibly dumb question. Do I have to reset the settings if I turn my phone off and turn back on?

not if you have 'set on boot' checked. but some people claim that setting can cause problems. however i've been running bionix 1.9.1 with set on boot checked since 1.9.1 came out with 0 problems. otherwise, yes, you have to reset it every time you reboot.
Thanks. Ill check set on boot and see what happens.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Be careful about "Set on Boot", it someone resets SetCPU and underclocks your phone to the point of crashing shortly after it boots. This is a pretty common issue but it doesn't happen to all users.

i dont have set on boot checked, and my settings are preserved on reboot
Ive been using set on boot for several days now, and no issues so far. To be honest I cant really tell any difference in the phones performance. But im not really pushing it either.

This does work on stock vibrant kernel. I have it on JI6 stock except for Root and mods. The OP is correct that you cannot over clock on stock.
As a battery saver for JI6 possibly. Also I am currently using it as an attemped fix for my Gallery freeze, lockup/CPU hog issue.

[MOD] NEW jit!

I found a new jit for our xt720!
linpack score 12.449 at 900 MHz!
Very fast !
Very simple!
First download all in one optimizer
Two download this mediafire.com/?djm9ggkil4d168m
Tree copy the folder app2sd from all in one
Four take lib an bin from jit enabler and put them in app2sd\jit
Five launch all in one and install jit
The end !
So, where do these come from if you don't mind me asking? I've been poking around the optimizer script and couldn't trace the JIT back to its source.
I believe the JIT in the optimizer script originates here
Ok, it installed over the previously installed optimizer version and the phone came up fine.
The only changed files from v9 of the all-in-one optimizer are /system/lib/libdvm.so and /system/bin/dexopt (md5sums identical for the other files).

I guess my question is that just looking at these files and the files included in the optimizer how do we know which one is newer? I'd found that site previously, when studying the all-in-one optimizer script, but I couldn't match md5sums from the all-in-one to either FrozenEclair_8.zip or FrozenEclair_9_beta1.zip (these don't match either).
Edit: Forgot to clear dalvik-cache--I don't think the all-in-one does that. After deleting the dalvik cache files and rebooting I see 13.6 MFLOPS @1GHz (was 9.8 before!). Awesome!
PS: How do you get 900MHz? I can only select multiples of 200MHz (in Milestone Overclock).
Mind posting the original discussion or source link ? Would like to know more about this update. Much appreciated.

If you hit the menu button there is an option for custom settings. Set the speed you want & move the slider all the way to the right to apply the custom setting.
There is only one new file came from a jit v2 for x10!!! My phone is fast at 550 MHz !!! I develop nothing i'm just a smart man...

okay..i ve try and it work sir...thank's
original thread for new JIT
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885977
i alrealy used jit 9b1 1month ago
i got that from spica's rom
It improves the linpack score...but quadrant remains near enough the same...so I.am left wondering what that means..
is one a better measure of something than the other...or are they are separately great measures of differing things...and what those differing things may be.
Sent from my Milestone XT720 using XDA App
Linpack mostly measures floating point operations which are important for scientific calculations and simulations. I suspect floating point performance isn't really a high priority for a typical phone workload. Linpack did demonstrate to me that the new JIT is superior to what it replaced in some respect.
I do know that my Linpack score didn't change before I cleared the dalvik cache--which makes sense if the improvements require new dex to be generated by dexopt. Unfortunately, I didn't run quadrant before I replaced the JIT (currently score 680 @1GHz in quadrant standard free).
I installed it and ran Linpack aftwards. Seems to have increased from ~10 to ~12.5. Phone seems a bit snappier but definitely not night and day improvement from what I've noted so far.
Thanks for the tip about the update
tq for the info update...
my linpack score now 15++ same score with froyo..
quadrant 879 @1.1ghz...
The score in quadrant don't move because the hardware video decoder is not activate .But you can see a real difference.I need a full rom 2.1 zip for defy for see what is the difference.

Ah...cool..thanks for the info guys. Yeah I noticed the response was better...but was not sure if that was due to cleaning out the dalvik cache as suggested.
I did notice the phone becoming very laggy of late...especiially for launcher pro home screens loading up ...but after installing this and clearing out the cache it is flying again and a bit faster than before

at 800MHz

Linpack score: 16.8 MFLOPS
Quadrant Standard score: 796
a lot faster. thanks guys.

A couple....

of questions...
I see on this custom mods you have OC version so can someone tell me how much is it safe, because if you OC a PC you get higher temperatures and I never OC a mobile phone. I currently have Samsung Galaxy 3. THX
Well. I think phone won't warm up if you set higher core speed but if you set higher voltage it can be a little warmer...
Sorry for my english

Overclocking Sprint Tab w/GB

When we got the stock GB upgrade, I found myself missing my ROOT and of course the BAUXITE Kernel.
Well we got the ROOT back quickly and now Thanks to Mr. Eui Woo Jeong we have overclocking. TEGRAK ULTIMATE overclock on the market website now supports the Sprint Tab w/GB.
Life is good.

I'm just cruising through at 1.2 no volt adjustment. Just "ONDEMAND".
No issues....
Did you mean the non ultimate version?
The ultimate version is $ 1.99

The ultimate version is not working for me. It does a checking stability for 300 seconds and never counts down for the Set on Boot option.
What are the best speeds to overclock to? I am over clocking to 1.1 ghz and it keeps locking up and freezing
I guess I can't support the widgets that I would like to without it being too slugish
Sent from my Sprint Galaxy Tab
I've noticed that oc'd past 1.2 my performance drops. It runs laggy and 1.3 benchmark scores were half that of 1.0 UNLESS I plug it into the wall. Is the battery not able to keep up or it it being undervolted?
Also, using this app, any thoughts on undervolting at 1.0 to increase battery? I would imagine undervolting won't fry anything, just maybe lock up, so is ot safe to experiment?

My Tuppence
I've played around a lot with the paid version of tegrak.
Free version works fine at 1200mhz max for me and I got the following AnTuTu results
1000mhz stock (Gingerbread 2.3.3 and Odin root, 32gb micro sd installed too) - score = 2676 = rank 56752
1200mhz - score = 2676 = rank 51544
With paid Tegrak I've managed to tweak up to a max of 1228mhz before it got unstable and rebooted, here are my results.
1220mhz (core voltage increased to 1325mv from 1300mv) - score = 3097 = rank 40166
1224mhz (core 1325) - score = 3130 = rank 39620
1228mhz (core 1325) - score = 2890 = rank 47433. So a drop in performance at which point I gave up testing further.
I'm happy with these results for $1.99.... pretty substantial update in performance. Plus going from an AnTuTu rank of 56752 to 39620 an improvement of 17132 in the rankings I'm happy.

how to change CPU speed or what do you use?

after i load any one of the many kernels on my Nexus 7, I use ROM control and can see its at 1300 but can slide all the way to 1800. once i do this and even mark set on boot and then exit... the speed always goes back to 1300. in all my benchmarks it shows 1300 was the speed but if i go back into rom tool back it shows 1300 as the setting as if i never changed it however i can still slide to 1800.
even tried a reboot and still no luck.
what am i supposed to use?

it was called
1.8ghz650GPUNopix.zip
and now i just installed
grouper-faux123-kernel-v010ultimate.zip which now defaults to 1500 with the slider allowing ability to go up to 1700 but always goes back to 1700.
whats the point of giving the ability to change CPU speed in ROm tool box if it doesnt want to remember what you set it to. so annoying.
its not the kernels fault. your rom is "broken", you need the powerhal fix, it should be in your rom but it isnt. theres a flashable powerhal fix floating around the forums. also, some cpu control apps include it, like the Trinity Kernel Toolbox.
When this happens to me with Antutu CPU Master I just bring the minimum down to 51 and then drag it back to whatever I want. I'm also just running the CM10 nightlies.
