[Portugal] 7th June 2012 Update for Optimus San Francisco (ZTE Blade)

For authenticity:
http://wwwen.zte.com.cn/endata/mobile/Portugal/
leave the first drop down menu untouched and select the "San Francisco (Optimus)" from the 2nd menu.
You will land on the following software update available for download:
http://wwwen.zte.com.cn/endata/mobile/Portugal/Portugal_SoftWare/201206/P020120607635109792735.zip
Which states the date stamp to be 7th June, 2012. It should be working for OLED screens as well because Optimus sold OLDED blades, as per Wikipedia states
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZTE_Blade#Variants
Can any of you professionals actually check that out and tell us if its a Gingerbread release and if it is, is it any better than Moldova one?
My Blade is unfortunately out of town with my sister :/ so I cant test it atm till 9th July Curiosity made me post this thread and my appologies if its already discussed

The link is for the software upgrade tool, a malfunctioning one at that and it doesn't contain any of the nice stuff you get with the older windows upgrading tools (ability to flash individual files).
It is NOT a ROM.
If you do not know what you are releasing please do not make a thread in Dev. Moved to General
Cheers

KRACK Attack Vulnerability

In recent news, a new vulnerability came to light that affects Wifi on OS's like Windows, Linux, and more specifically: Android 6.0 and higher
https://www.krackattacks.com/
Just wanted to put it out, because this could most likely also affect our devices.
It seems like there are already patches/software updates rolling out.
What are your thoughts?
(Might be in the wrong place, feel free to move this post)
The official ROM still runs September 1st 2016 security patch, I doubt we will ever see the november 2017 patch that will fix this

Oh Man! I Can't Wait For 2028 !

It's Getting Real Close Now!...
That Magical Year.. 2028.
I hope someone can prop me up in front of whatever means of computer will exist in 28' and let me look at pictures while they read to me what Android in it's Infinite Wisdom has chosen to name it's upcoming Firmware. :good:
You See.. In 2028, Android Will Have Run Out Of Letters In The Alphabet.
And since "Android Q" is already being mentioned... Android Z is just a few more heartbeats away.. (See Attachment)
THIS IS RIDICULOUS
At the present time only *** 0.7% *** of Android devices have Android Oreo running on them...
Android Oreo was in Alpha Testing in March of 2017... And released to the public on August 21, 2017.
And only 0.7% of all current Android devices are currently running it ?
And only 26% of all Android devices are running Nougat! which was released in 2016...
But yet, here we are prepping for the release of Android P and starting to talk about Android Q.
Am I missing something?
Seems like the powers that be should be focused on working together to get these updated op systems injected into these Expensive deivces a hell of a lot faster than the current rate of 26% for Nougat and 0.7% for Oreo.
Hopefully.. Project Treble will help elevate these percentages across the board.

Latest update June 2020 for Samsung S8, is it clear or sneaks in additional tracking?

hi guys,
the other day i got a notification that there's a new update dated June 2020 for my S8, i haven't installed it yet, mentions something about messages and security.
BUT does it sneak in additional covid frameworks or something like that? i currently blocked the C word framework and happy with that, would that creep back in if i do this update?
does anyone know? i contacted samsung on twitter and ironically they didn't reply.... yet....
thanks,
Gabrio

2022 edition available in the US?

Just ordered the s6 lite from amazon earlier today, and then in looking through reviews to sate some excitement saw that there's apparently a new 2022 edition out and about? Nothing on the amazon page indicates that this is the 2022 edition - I can't even figure out if the edition is available in the US. Trying to figure out if Samsung hasn't bothered to update the page or if I'm getting the 2020 edition. Any answers from recent new owners or someone in the know would be appreciated, thank you!
It's probably not available in the US, I can't find it in Samsung US official site.
The 2022 edition has a product code SM-P613 or SM-P619 . I'm not sure but I think anything different is the 2020 edition (P610/P615).

Thanks for the response! It seems like I may have lucked out because I'm seeing reports of a light bleed issue on the screen of the 2022 edition.
