They are working on both as we speak. (Desire and HD2)

What's the reason we can't get the cameras working on the new Sense builds from the Desire HD, the Desire Z and the Glacier on our HD2s?
Is it the kernel, the drivers? Do the developers know of something that might fix it?

since we don't have the source code of the new ROMs it's hard to pinpoint the exact problem, but it seems to be in the kernel.

as far as i know, they haven't got a 2.3 android device yet. they are soooo slow with updates.

but i'm not sure that it'll work our HD2, maybe a Senior Developer can do it.

I might be wrong here, but I thought the Desire Z and Desire HD stock ROMs were identical (from a features viewpoint). I've got the Desire Z and my friend has a Desire HD and whilst I'm now on CM7, her HD looks/feels exactly like my Z did (well a little bit quicker probably because of the bigger CPU)
They launched about the same time and were both originally the only ones which could use htcsense.com as well so realistically if you're just looking for a Sense ROM for your G2 I would just suggest Virtuous (which to me felt like the stock ROM, but a million times better) or one of the other DZ ROMs. Hope this is of some help!

Well it might be the same sense but you would still need to port it. Remember Disire Z has a keyboard and HD does not.

there is a desire hd gingerbread sense rom, but its exactly the same as the desire s rom. no point in porting it.

Virtuous team has released a rom based on Android 4.0.4 with sense 3.6 for Desire S test-key. Porting to DHD is possible now. With the similar hardware, porting should be perfect (camera fully working)!!

Looks like this leak is not useful for us. Kernel is Desire S specific and it doesn't boot. Also the base isn't worth porting, so it seems we have to wait for a leak or official firmware.Read down from this post

Well i have been on ICS for sometime now on my DHD and love it. People have been trying to get Sense to work but never get the Camera to function... I wish someone could get Sense 4 to work, i don't think i will flash a 3.6 Sense if there is still the pip dream of a 4 out there in the works. But hopefully with this they can fix the flaws in the broken Sense 4 Roms that we all are waiting for!

I think Sense 3.6 can be even better than 4. Don't know exactly, but it seems we can get nothing better than Sense 4 lite which doesn't have all the features of Sense 4. So I'd better use either AOSP or Sense 3.6

Untill dhd source code of kernel won't be released it's useless to wait fully working rom. If So it will be not-fully-working ported rom 'cause it will be based on 2.xx kernel not 3.xx

Hi all, for me I rather have a vanilla ice since sense doesn't make sense to me. It such a bloat ware for me. I've been using pics for two weeks and it's feel great!
The only issue was when you installed Facebook its getting a lot slower! It's issue with Facebook not ics I supposed. Can't wait for a fully functional camera

if im not mistaken, desire s was about to get ICS in june-july.
desire hd is supposed to be getting it in july-august.
desire s got a leak in the end of may.
according to that infos, desire hd should get a leak in the end of june. so one more month to go.
heeeeell, im a genius! lol

I wouldn't raise my hopes that high. I don't think the Desire C is similar enough to our device.
We need the DHD RUU for the camera nothing else is going to help us get the camera working..

I think Desire V RUU will be more helpful. It's almost the same as Desire Z. Besides Desire V has dual SIM(3G/2G and 2G) and no keyboard.
