Hi all, first time poster long time browser I checked the wiki and did a search but couldn't find a similar post. Here goes..
Yesterday i tried to connect to this protected wifi at a coffeeshop, but my HD did not manage to connect even after entering the network password. In the end it froze. The home screen was showing, i could feel the vib when pressing the screen, but no action happened. I did a soft reset, but that didnt make a difference... nothing working still, while it is still trying to connect to wifi.
Then I first did one hard reset. I managed to get to the screen where i am asked to touch the screen in order to configure the device. While i could feel the vib, nothing happened. I did a second hard reset, ended up at the same screen, but this time there is no vib when pressing the screen... and still nothing is happening. Same situation when doing a third hard reset.
I am lost for ideas.... Have anyone of you ever experienced something similar and what did you do to resolve it? Or have anyone any suggestions as to what I should try next??
Very bad dude,
what you can do (i dont know if this will work).....Flash your original rom again. it is a kind of a hard reset, but maybe this will work.
can you boot to boatloader (three color screen), and see the text USB when connected to pc?
Hi Kadir,
thanks for your answer.
I am trying to flash my rom using the excellent tool Hard-SPL package from OliNex, but to no avail.... i keep getting error message 202 meaning that it can't connect with the device...
This may sound obvious, but just in case... have you tried to remove the battery when the device is turned off? Is the only way to ensure you are fully turning it off, in case you have some kind of 'static' acting up. I had a similar issue on a PDA and also in my notebook, and was solved by removing battery.
hi,
thanks for the advice. I wish this was all it took, but alas no, i am not that lucky. I am starting to think this is a hardware issue....
can you see the 3 color screen?(when phone is off push power on + volume down button and keep volume down pushed).
if yes can you see it you are now in the bootloader. just chech if you see text usb, this means its connected.
and then flash, no 202 anymore.
do not use hard spl if you want HTC to repair your phone(warranty issue)
Don't you have to disable USB connection in ActiveSync too? Or was that just me?
I found the Flash program killed active sync anyway, but you're right all the guides say to disable it.
I have an Orange SPV M700 which has been unlocked, Hard SPL'd and a new WM6.5 ROM applied.
It has been working well for a few years now and is used daily as a satnav.
The other day, I left it and when I came back, it looked like someone had done a hard reset (blue/grey screen with "Press SEND to restore factory default, press END to quit" in blue.
I have tried pressing both send and end. I have tried both a soft and a hard reset and I have tried to get into the boot-loader screen. I have also tried my spare battery.
I keep coming back to the same screen.
any ideas on how I can get my phone back?
Can you still connect the phone to your computer or does it say not connected on the computer screen, if it was me an it came up I would re-install the same 6.5 rom.

No, the computer wasn't seeing the phone. However, he problem has been resolved.
A work colleague suggested that the battery may be at fault because he had had a similar problem with one of his Palm phones. New battery purchased, inserted into phone and bingo! problem solved

Go to Windows - Settings - Home - Items and check if HTC sense is enabled. If it is unchecked, tick it and you're done. Does the rest of your phone functions normally, besides Sense? If no, then you probably have to do a hard reset. Let me know.

I use to have this problem, it happened when i use to connect my phone to my computer via active sync or installed a new customisation cab, they was a connection between the two. Just pull your battery out for a soft reset but sometimes as stated above, you will have to do a hard reset which always did annoy me but hey, better then a bricked device
Have you looked here......
worth a shot........
Also several possible solutions posted inside the "Energy Rom" thread. One more is to reinstall CHT, if you use it.
thanks for the replies, but I did a hard reset...
I tried several times to do a soft reset, didn't work, took out the battery and waited for some time...also didn't work...
and I didn't have the patients to wait, so I just did a hard reset...
Sense was enabled in the settings and all...the phone didn' react, and when it did, it took several minutes...
anyways, thanks for the help...
Good afternoon
My HTC HD, blocks from time to time, it seems that is frozen or will not turn off normally.
Only after a few attempts and I can turn it on.
I have already installed an original ROM to reset everything and then another, this "Energy.BLACKSTONE.29007.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.Jan.06. And that's all the same.
WHAT SHOULD I DO??
Thanks.
i dont know much im still learning but maybe try a hard reset??

It sounds like something happened when you hard reset the device, if the buttons were working before the reset. I would try flashing the shipped Rom and see if that helps. Good luck!!
