Many of you may know as I have posted about this several times.... and from what we can legally say... we have been working with Qualcomm on possible solutions to the various QTV based chipsets.
But, ideal situations aside we are now going beyond that and are adding FULL QTV support to CorePlayer in an upcoming release.
I will NOT go into any more detail on how.... but if you liked what we did before with just the overlay support in CP for QTV that we reverse engineered (for compatibility purposes under the DMCA)... you are sure gonna love what we are doing next ;-)

wow, good find
Good news indeed. Thanks for the link.
Thanks!
Lets all help by posting at CoreCodec forum and showing your interest.
can somebody explain the meaning to a wm noob?
does this mean that the video-playback is going to be perfect when they release the new version?
I think it means they are working with Qualcomm to better take advantage of the hardware that the Touch HD contains with regards to video playback performance !

OMG!!
This just made my day/week/life.
Its VERY good news, but it will be interesting to see how it effects heat production and battery life. Dont underestimate the ability of HTC to throw us a curve ball on this one.
Nice find - and great news (potentially)
Well now, this IS good news... or so I thought, then someone mentioned there could be increased heat / battery usage, which would be logical....
Anyhow, I'd certainly love to have the functionality and the choice, over nothing any day.
Look forward to purchasing the new Core player!!
...IB a n e
Wow, that indeed is good news. Without Coreplayer, video playback on the Qualcomm MSM7200 QTv chipset HTC devices would be a sad affair... HTC should thank the Coreplayer crew for doing their work for them
Sorry to sound like a noob but if I purchased coreplayer this week for the HD I am going to order does that mean I am going to have to pay again when they upgrade to 1.3?

Wow!!! That means no problem anymore with movies??? I'm very, very, very impressed!! Please let this be reality... THATs the solution greez, cad^^
Great news, big thanks to the guys at corecodec.
Sounds really good, must wait to see if we can use it to improve other device driver.
Well this is good! I've not run into much of a problem but I've only tried a few SD divx vids with about 1 Mbit bitrate, guess this will mean that higher bitrate will play smoothly and maybe HD video too! (Without the need for conversion!)
Ahh...OK.

the video shows an X10 running android 2.1, its not clear as to wether its rooted or not but its definately running it
(cant post links, so u have to edit the link before pasting it into your browser )
Pretty nifty! Took forever to boot, hey? Besides the boot logo the fw didnt look SE whored out. Perhaps it is root? Or maybe an early se build?
This video was posted today in youtube.lets hope the guy tell us how he did it
that's a crappy video, hard to see. must have been taken with a crappy phone lol
I must get in touch with that guy to ask him about multitouch capabilities. If this is the official clean 2.1 we can get the final response (the only limit, in this case, could be the bootloader but I don't think so).
the first logo looks like an Arrow sign , may be downloading something to the phone or something else that is why it took that long

yeah great no multitouch we get it, does anyone have ANY idea how this was done?

And Synaptics has stated several times to me <<just wait and see>>. I believe in multitouch, IMHO it's only a patent problem
For the record Synaptics managed to soft enable multi touch gestures on there standard trackpad panels, its more than possible to enable it with a little bit of fancy work (eg registering each touch seperatly at high speed and then relaying it as a single multi touch gesture to the OS). Multitouch is what everyone is obsessing over today then eh? weather its possible or not is no one else at all at interested in who even did this let alone how?! Peace and love.

ya .. except the boot logo .. cant seem to see anythng else ..
it can also be some emulator+remote desktop video, as it was with htc hd2 running wp7. i am staying calm in this case, no additional info, nothing written there.. even the video quality. from my point of view it is not real.

If its fake i say we get a hold of his email and email him in bulk stating how much of a **** he is, i however dont think its fake, if it was you would expect much more input/response latency than we are seeing, it looks native, and if he where to fake it he would have used 2.2......
Yes, but if you run it in emulator and access it via wifi in local network, the responses also can be quite good.. And as far as I know, hacking the bootloader is really not easy, and honestly - if I'd done it, at first I would write some informations about what I've done.. And not just some "nothing saying" video on youtube..
yeah i think its a little bit conspicuous but.. im not looking for reasons that its fake, lets just take it at face value for the moment. i still am of the view that remote connection isn't as fast as navigation in that video, im going to test this out tonight.
do vanilla 2.1 have a blue status bar like in our 1.6 X10 ? if not it maybe an early SE 2.1 build that they promised because i clearly see a blue status bar and as you guys mentioned the boot-loader is hard to crack
not sure about that ive heard the phone can have multitouch

Can you please give your delusions a rest? I mean... I respect that you wanna give yourself false hope, but please don't give disappointments to the community around you.
It's a fact that it's been officially announced that the hardware doesn't have the capapilities.
I can introduce you a good search engine called 'Google', and to can visit the official Sony Ericsson blogs for the facts.
Sigh...
Following on from THIS thread which raises a valid point imo...
The Galaxy Spica (also known as the i5700) has been blessed with multitouch support in some homebrew drivers that are making their way into homebrew kernels for homebrew ROMs, despite the official line that said phone doesn't support more than one finger at a time. Really drives home the point that "support" can refer both to the hardware's capability and the manufacturer's willingness to maximize it, doesn't it?

Or could mean it is possible, but will take a developer to realise it.
thought hardware cant support more than 1 finger at a time so regardless of what devs can come up with, its not gonna work??
or has someone identified what panel the x10 is using and im talking nonsense?

To my knowledge no one has discovered what model the touch panel is. Right now the official word from SE is that the hardware doesn't support it.

As far as i am concerned, i dont really care if we get MT or not. But i dont see why SE would release their top end android phone without putting a MT capable digitizer on it, whether they enable MT or not. Maybe they know it is capable but never enabled it because of copyright issues with crapple.
This is just another pointless thread, When we crack the boot loader and can put on Custom Roms we will find out if its a yes or a no, till then we can all debade the meanings of life and all the other types to topics that are there to waste time.

It might be, in your opinion, the point of the thread is to highlight that another handset of which it's maker said MT wasn't available now actually is thanks to a developer, so there just might be a possibility that other handsets sold with no MT support might not necessarily be because of a hardware issue.

they have to say something, if it supports, SE wont launch drivers for it so soon... Without know the model of the panel, no way to know.

I think the best way is asking a SE dev if x10 supports MT
Maybe SE will enable it on 2.1 if the hardware supports it....

There is NO WAY to get multitouch on our device. Also there is no normal dualtouch for now, only rough software emulation. Maybe some lucky genius could fix chip's firmware to force it return 2 finger coordinates.
Or just crack/bypass bootloader xd
And dual touch = smaller multitouch

That is best dualtouch or multytouch depeds on the default paraments of each... can be set good or bad.
As for the camera there are good apps that shoorten the shot time, so you can take shot easier (photo is better too)
yes, you're right. let's hope that cracking the bootloader may give us dual/multi.
but dont let your hopes too high,
...i think that when the bootloader is cracked we will have dualtouch for sure but blagus said it drain too much cpu...

Might is a very tame word. Considering the device does not have the ability to handle anything more than dual touch, this is interesting news.
it will bring multi-touch, resolution 1024x768, blu-ray support.. etc..
and all that on 2.9.26 kernel build.. uv, oc too.. come on ppl be happy if that gb even moves with that time/medi-scape s**t...

Are you crazy? It will deliver 1440x900 resolution, 1080p recording at 60fps, 8mp cap lifted to 16.1mp, fps cap lifted to 58fps including 3D with some accents of time/mediapain.
Well, this was originally posted in brazilian Sony Ericsson official Blog, so I think we could give it a shot. A lot of people said X10 wouldn't support even dual touch, and now we have it. Maybe Sony Ericsson found a way to fix it, despite the hardware limitation, bypassing, I don't know. If SE said multitouch will come with the 2.3 update, I guess I will wait hopefully for that.
The source is in portuguese and I'm too lazy to translate it now, but you guys can believe what I'm saying or use a translator .
2.3 also brings: Full HD screen resolution, native .exe execution, CoD Black Ops pre-installed, slide out joypad like on Xperia Play, and Airplane mode finally turns phone into airplane of your choice, just like we all expected when seen it for the first time...
Also, don't forget about kexec exploit fix == stuck on SE's FW... But with all these functions, why would you want to switch to another ROM??? Enjoy
lol hahaha... iam so excited about the new GB update coming soon...
Read somewhere that the official.update will be released.at the end of July.

Pshhh dual core is sooo the day before, talk to me when you have 8 cores implemented
You need Galaxy S II, then with simple CPU reroute process via Wi-Fi, BT, J-Tag, USB and a few more solder points you connect X10 to Galaxy's CPU.
Then you take super glue, and stick the phones together. zdzihu will publish the pictures soon
It was easy, and during the process RSA key was found - it was a nice surprise to find all root, red and brown keys under the CPU on a piece of paper, hand-written with signature of SE's CEO

Sorry to say but SE won't be able to deliver this... the only person who could has already left XDA
