I have a T-Mobile USA HD2, when I try and flash I get the 260 bad connection error, I have HSPL 2.0.8 When I try and flash via SD-card It doesn't find my leoimg.nbh, I am just trying to flash to a custom rom, I am running windows 7, WMDC 6.1.6965, Any Help Please, sorry if this has been repeated in the fourms
16gb sd card won't work
enter bootloader manually yourself, connect usb, count to twenty, run your flash. don't touch the phone if it times out again, just leave it sat in bootloader,, just switch usb ports and run it again.
Hello Joshua_Hershey, I think U run Windows 7 64 bit so it can not find and install driver for USB connection when flash ROM. Please use Windows 7 32 bit. I run install my Windows 7 from 64 bit --> 32 bit sao now it is OK, can connect and flash ROM.
I run, and have always run Windows 7 Ultimate x64...and have never had problems with finding drivers for WinMo devices.

I'm using windows 7 and wanted to change ROM, i was wondering if the .net 3.5 thats recommended and needed for the HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex has any complications or if indeed is need at all?
can't comment on the tool you talk about
but win7 is the first windows that comes
with .net 3.5 installed from the start
I tried to flash my mobile from a Vista PC and I got problems with it.
So I went into the basement and used my old XP Computer.
And it worked flawlessly
Maybe Windows 7 works better, but I don't think so. Just try it and install .NET 3.5 and start RUU.
If it doesn't work, you got to look for a XP Computer

Maybe you had to install the cracked drivers (youwe got 64 and 32bit version), sometimes you need to disable the USB connection under WMdevice Center, put the device in bootloader and then run RUU update.
Argh sorry, totally forgot to mention that.
But I had tried (nearly) everything:
Flashing without changes in Vista (just WMDC installed)
disabled/enabled "allow USB connections"
normal/cracked drivers
...
So if somebody know what's wrong, please tell me ^^
If your using USPL you will need to update the HTC USB drivers as it will not detect the device, if you have flashed the hard SLP then you needed worry, it works fine, even in Windows 7, 32 and 64 bit
HSPL didn't work with my 32bit Vista, even not after updating the drivers
But that's Windows: Sometimes it works, most time it doesn't
Put HSPL from friends PC and than @ home just do upgrades via SD card
Thanks guys, some good info there, i'm liking windows 7 at the moment so will keep tryin to find a way to the HSPL, tried that friends option NikPraskaton but he has windows XP and is not detecting the phone anymore
hello, i flashed my hd2 many times but i now have an issue. i have windows 7 rom by boyppc_shiftpda v1 installed on my leo. which flashing software do i use to flash my leo so i can install a different rom onto it. the problem for me lies in the fact that when i connect my leo to my computer, zune software automatically starts up and it connects to the phone, unfortunatelly the computer does not recognize the phone as a storage device and does not think it is connected. so every single time i am trying to flash it with any of the DFT soptware i get an error that usb device is not connected.
HELP
You have to boot your HD2 into MAGLDR by holding the end/power button down while booting your HD2 up. When the MAGLDR menu comes up use the volume buttons to scroll down to option#5 USB Flasher and then connect your HD2 via USB cable to your computer. When you see your HD2 listed as MAGLDR in safe to remove you can right click on the DAF and select run as administrator. I also think you have to have ActiveSync or WMDC (ActiveSync for XP, WMDC for Vista and Windoes 7)" installed on your computer for for USB drivers perposes. Not 100% sure about that though but I have read people post that after they reinstalled these programs they had no troubles.
Check this tutorial... Worked for me and has all the relevant links...
YouTube Tutorial...
Hey,
it is realy easy. but you do not necessarily have to install Active Sync or WMDC ( what ever ). I plugged my Phone into the new installed Windows 7, Switch in the Magdlr and choose USB-Flasher.
Now Windows 7 download the Driver automatically. ( wait a few Minus, i mean 5 )
If installed, rigthklick -> run as admin -> have fun
Hi everybody,
I hope you can help me because I really can't find the solution:
When I connect my HD2 WP7-device to my computer it charges, but isn't recognized.
- Zune won't start automatically and won't find any device.
- Device Manager doesn't show any unknown device or something that could be my phone.
What I have tried so far:
- Used a XP3 and W7 x64 machine (also ones without any history with a WP7-phone)
- Used a lot of different cables
- Used a lot of different USB-ports
- reinstalled WP7
- reinstalled zune
- (de)installed activesync
- I'm not sure, but first I had a dual-boot solution with Android and I recall USB also didn't work there.
I started to think the USB-connection of my phone might be broken, but when I use MAGDLR, the USB works as mass storage and I can also use the USB flasher. The Bootloader also works, so I tried the following:
- (using bootloader) restored the HD2 in its original state with a official stock ROM and original (locked) HSPL
- Installed a Android ROM: the USB also does NOT work with WM6.5 or Android.
Does anyone know anything I can try now? And Yes, I have read all of the threads of other people with USB-issues and the MS-solutions, but none of them had the solution for me...
Coffee-donation for whoever has the golden tip
Hello guys, I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I am facing a similar issue.
I installed the LEO70 ROM on my HD2 when it first came out, and forgot all about it. I now want to install the NoDo (7932) update to test it out (and maybe move permanently to an Android ROM eventually when I decide I don't like it). I am facing an issue; I want to upgrade my MagLDR to 1.13 (from 1.12) and ROMUpdateUtility doesn't recognize my phone, giving me the 'Error 260 - Connection' error.
I did remove Windows Mobile Device Center a month or two ago... could this be the problem? I have the latest Zune software installed on my Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (x86-64) machine, and when I plug in the phone, Zune automatically starts and recognizes my phone, telling me there's a phone update available (from February that I need to install to enable future updates). I know it will kill my phone, so I won't install it. Also, USBMassStorage mode works nicely.
Any ideas?
Hi sclip,
I don't mind if you try to find an answer to your problem too, but it seems like a different one, because mine does work in bootloader/magdlr-mode.
BTW. I just installed the stock WM6.5 Rom of HTC, and USB still doesn't work! Can it be the radio of hardSPL or is it just broken?
****, after installing the stock WM6.5, it won't install another Radio/MAGDLR using bootloader, it stucks at the 0%.
I think I might haved destroyed my HD2

That did the trick, thanks. To bad it didn't help my USB problem...
since youve tried just about everything else try this
try using USBDVIEW and delete all the USB drivers
also install it on a different PC that hasnt had WP7 connected to it before
to continue with fault testing will requirer us to rule out the PC or the phone, at the mo it could be anything.
since you have Windows 7 install the XP virtual machine and use that, i believe the VM now supports pass through on USB so it should work, i have an old IrDA adaptor that wont install on my w7 PC but it will on the XP VM

Thanks for the USBDVIEW-tip, quite a nice piece of software! However it didn't help me with my problem. Using a computer which never had WP7 connected before didn't help either...
Hello,
I recently purchased HTC HD2 from someone. It came to me with Android 2.2 froyo installed in it through NAND. Now when I am trying to put ICS replacing froyo or when I am trying to put WINMO 7.5 Mango along with android it doesn't detect USB device connection.
All other features are working perfectly like, phone charging through USB, USB detection for SD card etc.
USB doesn't detect only when I try to run through MAGLDR. For example: when I am switching ON my phone by pressing Voume down key along with power key, colourful screen appears with "SERIAL" written on it. Now when I connect phone to my PC through USB it doesn't change to "USB" from "SERIAL".
Also when I am switching ON my phone by continuously pressing power key to get into MAGLDR mode and trying to flash using the 5th option "USB Flasher Mode", here also I can see just "Wait USB…" rather as per the tutorials it should display "Wait USB…USB".
Now because of this issue I am unable to use my HD2 using WINMO or with any other android OS.
Please help with any option so as I can use the USB feature or to install different OS. My motiv behind purchasing this set was only the customization I can do with the phone. Now without which my motive is getting failed.. Please help me guys :crying: ..
Thanks,
Harjeet
What's your PC setup?
A few things,,
In wmdc untick allow USB connections,, the wmdc that comes with vista/win7 isn't the latest version, Google the Microsoft wmdc page and manually download+install, try not to use a 64 bit windows machine if you have the option, (winxp for preference), running an os through any virtual machine type setup can be problematic, try different USB ports, for magldr it needs the android drivers,,,they can be found in various ways, they're linked in the nand toolkit thread, or I think installing "myphoneexplorer " on the PC installs them too, or Google the android sdk (that's a long and complicated way to get them)
Thanks for replying..
First thing.. Do I need to install WMDC when I am not having windows OS itself in my phone? This is just a question because as per my knowledge I don't need to install WMDC unless I am using windows in my Mobile.
At present mobile is purely an android phone with android OS installed in NAND.
And yes I am having Windows XP 32 bit with me. I already tried with different data cables and in different USB slots but USB connection for installing new OS doesn't work. Other then this all other features of USB are working perfectly.
Please revert in case my opinion is wrong.
Thanks,
Harjeet

no its not, its a windows mobile phone with a hacked winmo bootloader allowing it to run a custom bootloader (magldr or clk) which enables android to run.
Anything you do in the winmo bootloader (stripey screen - hspl, task29/flashing magldr/flashing stock roms, flashing radios - ) all requires windows mobile usb drivers.
Anything you do from the magldr screen requires android usb drivers.
Hey Sam,
I can't believe it.. I was wrong.. Just installed Active Sync and tried again.. It worked..
You were right.. Thanks a ton champ..

Hello all.
When you've got some problems with you datacable via phone/pc is also this a solution.
Be sure you've make a copy of your SD-card and after when you copied SD to PC (harddisc) via datacable or cardreader and after this you gonna formatting your SD-card or you buy a new SD-card.
Then put new or formatted SD-card into your phone and started it up in bootloadermenu (colorscreened) <volume down> and after this you wil see now in place only "serial" changed into "USB".
I'll be hope that this wil working.
I've my HTC HD2 also working when i fixed this.
HTC HD2 / PACman Android version 4.1.2 (latest version) / Magldr 1.13 / CWM recovery 3.2.0.0 <this combine works very simple and als this Android rom is stable and fast without automatically rebooting time.
For more you've check <HTC HD2 Android roms>
I wish you good luck with your phone...
i have the same problem
I had the same problem on my Windows 7 x64. Then I tried to connect HD2 to my older Win XP notebook and there it worked. So I found somewhere, I should update drivers in my Windows 7 system. I downloaded file "drvupdate-amd64.exe" from Microsoft (search in Google for "Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 Driver for Windows Vista (64-bit)"), installed it and then it started to work (it took a while, before it started to work, but it started). When I connected my HD2, Windows found the driver, installed it and "SERIAL" changed to "USB" finally.

I confess I haven't read all answers so it might be a repetition but what I think is you might have made changes in your operating system, specially in SYSTEM REGISTRY that deals with communicating your devices chipset in particular mode, I think it is a QUALCOMM device, now you should do following things:-
First if you have registry backup, apply that and revert back to previous system registry or in case you have not, restore your OS to any previous restore point.
Then restart system, connect USB cable and start it in the particular mode you asked in question (vol down+power), it should try detecting driver.
If it can't, better solution to try finding QUALCOMM MSM driver for HD2 separately is to download windows active sync/htc sync, which might be having these drivers built in, download it and if it doesn't help, restart your system, then try again, it should work, in case doesn't PM me, as I won't be following this post, most probably even you ain't
hi,
i want to connect my ics android to my windows 8 laptop. i need usb drivers to install magldr/roms etc.
i still have windows 7 (laptop) but am going through the motions of changeover to windows 8 (laptop)
i have tried searching but with windows 8 (pc) and windows 8 (phone) all mixed up i cannot find the answer
google 'android usb drivers', there are several ways to get them, , or install teh nand toolkit which has a button marked 'drivers'

doh, thats what i was trying to think of. its a looong time since i installed them for win 7.
will try the ones from this post...

EDIT: yep that does it
but now i have missing RAPI.dll error.
back to win 7 laptop for now for a breather
windows 8 laptop is hard work
in win 7 rapi dll was often caused by teh slightly out of date windows mobile device center that shipped, and a manual update from the ms site of wmdc fixed it, , i think i half remember that running daf.exe instead of romupdateutility when flashing magldr gave this too, but i cant be certain (been aaages since i last flashed magldr, lol)
