Amen brother. Unless you have an apk of this, and it might help development with android 2(Link to developing Google apps because of sync api commands in maps app? I don't know.) What I'm trying to say is...don't make a new thread if it has NOTHING TO TO WITH DEVELOPMENT. Thanks.
Seriously. DEV or GTFO.
I kind of disagree; I think this is important for the development section:
It could inspire developers to work a way into porting android 2.0 to G1. It may inspire some genius into converting the g1 into a multi OS system that can switch between a GPS NAV and a Phone, in a simple way “switch Rom”. I left it open without a comment because I rather for everyone to use his imagination and transform this into development!!!

I’m aware of that and the problems associated with porting 2.0, but I also believe in the XDA development Team. I would like to remind everyone where we have been and where are we now in terms of android, just imagine flashing back to stock RC 28 .
Just a note to OP, any dev that would even conjure doing this would more than likely look @ android.com or other android related sites with news and other articles just like you linked for us, granted you were trying to share what you have learned, it is completely irrelevant to this forum. Gladly take this thread to a "general"disscussion. Besides its still early look @ 2.0 and will be a bit before we see progress, and was hoping this thread meant somone was porting already, yet, to my dismay another off topic discussion that let my hopes fall to the bottomless pit of irony.

Actually its people like you that post immature retorts that makes members not want to be here anymore. Android 2.0 is DEV!
My Warm Donut thread just disappeared.. Weird.
And I see some others that have the prefix of "Moved" but don't a new section from HTC Vogue root.
EDIT:
Confirmed: We got our own forum!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=588
I think so ... just a few minutes ago I saw a "Touch Android Development" forum listed with your Warm Donut thread as the newest. When I tried to acccess the forum, I got a message that I did not have sufficient permisson. After a refresh, it does not show up at all. Great ROM, btw ... looking forward to flashing it once issues are ironed out for Polaris.

Im looking forward to reinstalling your Donut set up again. 2.1 just killed my battery in under 4 hours : (
They probably admin-locked it so we don't post in it while they transfer all our Android threads to it. It makes the process slower and probably prone to screw-up.
I still have Myn's donut link stuck in my cache (2/2 110 version):

thanks for the note - i was wondering what the heck was going on!!
I hope a knowledgeable admin moves all the threads. Not all the Android ones are labeled as [Android].
if you keep hitting refresh on the HTC Vogue: Touch CDMA page, the new android forum pops up occasionally. sometimes you'll get the same error when you click on new threads in the forum, just keep hitting refresh and they'll eventually work.
We're trying to move all Android posts over...but it often takes several hours before the new forum propagates.

Just let the admins do their jobs guys. It'll be back in a few hours.
Glad to see we are getting an Android forum.
Glad to hear not only are we getting a new forum devoted just to Android, but they're putting us on new servers as well so things will run faster. Love it!
Awesome. Seeing Android development took over the general section this makes perfect sense. Thanks XDA
It's about time! Then again if it weren't for Android, the vogue forum as a whole would be about dead in my opinion.
Jeez, late on this one guys but thankfully we finally have it!
Nice work Admin's! This will make the Vogue section much easier to navigate. The General section was becoming strictly Android, this is a much needed improvement.
Is that the reason why you can't post or read the threads in the forum?
Question, since everybody testing adroid will read this... What ROOTFS is considered the best for Vogue? I saw a post that there is one with libgps injected already on it? Can someone please point me to the best and the most suggested rootfs?
Thanks! Thanks to the person who pointed me to the newest 2-4-10 NBH.

Ok, I don't mean to be mean when I say this, but this should have been in the Android Q&A section, but, I would actually try the Energy Rom, thats what I use. If not, then try Phiremod Skinny Evo, or Biffmod Vanilla Froyo v1.1.

Thanks very much for your quick reply. I also think you're not mean by correcting me, I'm new to Android and want to try it. So, where can I find these Androids you mentioned, because I'm not going to leave Artemis ROM.

The easiest way is to use search function in Android Development section...
Try - UPD][BUILD][07.11.10] MDJ FroYo Sense Revolution v.1.5 [kernel: MDJ S1]
I think this is the best sense version at the moment.
If you want stock looks try - [Everyday Builds][latest linux_on_wince_htc][PPP] CM6.1+
or BUILD][11-5-2010][JDMS 1.5][Hastarin R8][PPP+RMNET][Themed+Stock]
They are my faves.
I run artemis. Every single build has worked until now. But post your questions in proper section please.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
I also use Artemis v41 in combination with MDJ froyo sense clean v2.3 and MIUI 05 november version(iphone looks) both with good call quality, and almost no data drops. I use for both roms MDJ S2 kernel.

I think you should have reacted in an other way, my friend. I explained why I posted this in this thread. Is it so unreasonable that I ask a question in this thread, being unfamiliar with Andriod? I think, based on the reactions that I got, that you all have "big toes" on which you step very easily.
just my 2 cents.
BTW, I have posted in a lot of XDA threads, but never met such weak hearted souls.
well this tread isnt going anywhere all were doing here is fighting but im not going to lie "mattfmartin" has a point. you have been here for about 2 years so im pretty sure you can read the treads and imply where your post should go, but hey im not trying to be mean just pointing out the obvious.
By number of your posts i can imagine you know the rules... You are here 2 years... Saying that you are new to android is a joke. Being new to android doesn't mean you can't read. You care just about your own convenience and try to imply that problem is with us...

What the hell does my number of posts has to do with knowing the rules where to post what at all. Who are you to say that it's a joke that I'm new to Android and thus cannot read? Who are you to imply that I say that the problem lies by you Android members? These are all assumptions based on nothing at all. I already explained that I posted in this section because:
1. I want to explore the best Android version for my HD2 with Artemis version
2. I do not have any experience with Android
3. This seemed to me to be the right section to post this.
All I get is these no sense answers that I'm in the wrong section, instead of beining polite and giving me advice about the right Android version, Excuse me very much if I sound pissed off, but partially I am. I had expected some more cooperation from you then you have demomstrated untill now. I'm truly very sorry so admit that I have never met such a negative attitude towards a question of a member, whether junior, senior or whatever.

Sorry Sir, but I just asked a question, whiich IMHO has nothing to do with my amount of posts. I really do not know anything about Android, but just wanted to explore it/try it out. One hopes to get help with that, but instead I only got negative reactions and, you're right about the fact that I reacted pissed off. Excuses for that, but remains the fact that I did not get a decent answer.
best regards, Kuzibri
The reason that you haven't gotten a decent answer is because there isn't. It's just a simple matter of preference. That's your answer.
Now there is a second and a third reason you haven't gotten that answer yet. You can't demand an answer and you have to wait a little.

You will all take the level of importance of this question as your own but I have had a query burning in my mind for a while.
I know that currently the Android OS is a BUILD and it takes a wm ROM to launch off, but I was wondering is there a way for the HTC LEO to run DROID ONLY and never have to associate itself or use WM ROMS ever again. Essentially I am asking is there a way to create a ANDROID ROM for the HTC LEO?
Note: Can the answers be open minded and not fuelled by programmers knowledge as most programmers I know will only give answers in the current boundaries of technology, but I do urge you to remember that at one point Computers were impossible...but they did it. I hope the programmers here do not take offence to this, I just want to know is it theoretically possible.
Thank you in advance.

100% agree with this (i often say it too), with a few exceptions tho
the big NAND question being 1 of them, if you are fairly new to this scene, it can be info overload & without reading every thread this info is easy to miss.
how does "NAND" translate into Android Rom? unless you've been been around for a while you wont know.

Firstly, you cant run all 3 OS's, You can run combinations of 2 like WP7 on NAND and Android on SD or Android on both NAND and SD or WM6.5 on NAND and Android on SD.
Second, how on earth does this look like a questions forum?? In future post your questions in the Q&A forum.
Third, you obviously havent even spent 2 minutes looking at forum titles or reading the guides so before you start asking loads of questions everywhere do yourself a favor and do some reading, lazyness is not tolerated here and frowned upon.
So, how do we get the OP banned for life? Clearly posts like this will continue if we don't cure (ban) the OP asap.

Relax... its not a big deal. He asked a question. No need to ban... that's ridiculous.
To op... we can't triboot all 3 os's yet, but hopefully soon cotulla will release a sd bootable version of winmo6.5, at which point we can have wp7 on nand, and android and wm65 on sd card. So it'll probably just be a matter of time.

It's good to see that not all the friendly, helpful people have left XDA just yet. I was starting to despair, this used to be a place where newbies could come to ask questions without fear of ridicule no matter how naive the request. Thanx zarathustrax for restoring my faith in XDA.
We at XDA ARE still friendly to n00bs with actual, legitimate questions. People like this OP that don't take the time to read ANYTHING are the people that we don't like. It's all about the reading folks. There really aren't that many things left about the HD2 that we don't know about, and a simple search will almost always result with the information that you need.

All this info can be confusing to someone new to this... someone seeing the hd2 forum showing that the hd2 can run all these OS's, and seeing all this stuff about dualbooting and tri-booting when you include ubuntu... a search would probably bring back a variety of threads about dualbooting and tribooting. Even posts out there talking about the possibility of running all 3 OS's once the sd version of wm65 is released. All this information can be quite overwhelming to someone new and can be difficult to sort through and figure out. There is no need to talk about banning the poster or saying you don't like the poster because he didn't know what was possible and he asked a question in the wrong section.
Considering we may be able to run all 3 OS's on our HD2s possibly very soon, I don't think the question is that out of line... it probably should be in a Q&A section, but all the Q&A sections are for specific OS's, so that makes it hard to figure out what section this question should have been posted in, especially for a noobie. All that needed to be said was that it's not possible yet, but that it will probably be possible soon. Then the thread would have died and would have been out of your site.

I first came here after a google search looking for an app for a T-Mobile MDA Comapct III (HTC P3300). I had no idea about flashing ROMs or anything. I found the app and also noticed other apps that were useful.
After a good read on the ROM flashing, I decided to flash a ROM. It worked fine, but some of the aspects of the ROM I didn't like. So I tried another and another until I was happy. Then I did more reading and did some very basic tweaks.
This phone has been not used for a couple of years, until about a month ago. I again had a read about the latest ROMs and flashed one, didn't like it so I flashed another - which I quite like the look of. I added TomTom and downloaded the free city map. Now this phone is used as a backup in my car and also as a tracker if my car was to be stolen.
