Downgrade Complete!

So I just brought my EVO into Best Buy (Black Tie Protection claim) to get it fixed. They had to send it out for service of course so I end up with a loaner phone.
So... while they have my $500 pocket computer... they give me a Samsung Intercept to use in the meantime... and if my EVO wasn't enough collateral I am out a $150 deposit. Just in case I wanted to take the Intercept and run, haha.
I can't wait to get my/a new EVO back to get back on CyanogenMod. I forget just how fast the EVO is until I start playing with a phone like this.

yea my mom has a "blaze" and i hate it i am to used to the big screen of the EVO and how fast it is i always get agrivated when she has me fix stuff when i visit. I try not to tell her that the phone sucks but its hard.

Yea. My parents have the Moment and this is the better version of that. Makes me feel bad for them. Haha.
The one thing kinda nice is the touch pad for scrolling through text.

I would have to second that motion and I am tired of seeing so many negative post. I think there are alot of people out there that maybe should of never of rooted their phones....lol. The questions are getting worse and worse

nothing bad to report here, all is well, I am happy and fed.

I have had a couple hiccups along the way but very happy with this phone so far.

I will agree with you guus, and one up you.
I am very happy with my evo. However, I am happy there hasn't been an evo 2 announcement.... YET. I love seeing new tech, but the Evo is still worthy of holding the Sprint thrown for a a few months a la Apple. A one year life cycle is great. Just my opinion though.

I absolutely love my Evo. Been in smartphone heaven since June 4! But a Evo 2 announcement wouldn't hurt. Never worried about yearly cycles. If they announced a Evo 2 tomorrow & started selling the next day, I would be in line. Well that is if they give us some major upgrades. The Shift imo isn't a upgrade.

my incredible saved my life

i was attacked by a 45 year old parent the other night when i was dropping his daughter off from play practice (shes the same age as me) im 17, it was about 11 and he pulled me out of my car and attempted to beat my ass, i fought back and i walked away, my incredible was smashed when i called 911 but it saved my life, rip, the insurance didnt have any more, so they replaced it with a thunderbolt. its going to take some getting useto

I'm sorry man. Not only for your situation, but for you getting stuck with a Thunderbolt. Atleast you had insurance though!

sorry man but good luck with the thunderbolt there some pretty good development going on over there for example the htc sensation port. get better dude.

I'd have to say the thunderbolt is better than the incredible... Especially data speeds and screen size. Better processor and more ram... How is that a bad thing?

Battery is really the only reason I wouldn't switch. A few smaller points is that personally, it's a tad bigger than what I'd want to carry one me. Also there is less development, but it's obvious a bunch of people are working on it and I'm sure it'll have a good size team over there working on Thunderbolt goodies.

were not involved in anyway. practice ended at 10:30 and she was going to walk home so i gave her a ride cause he would go pick her up and its not the best area

[NEW HERE] Coming from Hero and Stopping to Say Hi

Hey all. I decided against going with the 3vo and went with the 4g (on the advice of a few sprint employee friends). I've had root on my hero since it was possible and finally just got tired of the phone itself. This phone is everything I knew it would be. SOME issues I've experienced but nothing all that bad. GV didn't work at all but it's working now and the voice option on the keyboard doesn't work. Oh well.
Anyways, I'm not at all a dev, but will be happy to give feedback on whatever rom (once root). For those who are working on root options...GOOD LUCK!!!

Welcome to the evo. Don't mind the trolls they seem to be in abundance these days. Might make me goto the 3d just for that reason.
As for the voice, I had that problem in a few roms. Idk what the problem was but after installing swiftkeyboard x its working fine on my current daily driver. I can't say it didn't work before becouse I didn't try it.

I'm right with ya on that. This is the first phone I have had that I couldn't root, but hopefully soon we get a solution to that.

Wow, so I'm not the only one that didn't fall for the 3-D crap. I just came from the here as well and the 3-D was only an option when I heard about the ram and dual core processor, after I messed with it for a while I was over it lol. Welcome man, its a good step in the right direction. The only way I would even consider going with a 3-d phone is once the whole 3-D option either plays out or gets much better.

The 3d is a solid phone and it's FAST... In the end ,however, the screen size and the 8 mega pix camera won.
Im going to look to sell my hero (actually i have two) on craigslist since i got kicked off ebay in 2003.

Who all here has bought the bigger battery for the phone? Its not that big of a deal for my to put it on the charger...but the battery life leaves you wanting. Is it worth the $60 from a sprint store? Or would amazon be a better route

Dropped mone on garage floor yesterday.bounced off concrete case flew off ajd battery goes flying. Not the first time thats hsppened.one time down 5 concrete steps. Flew apart. No damage lol. Lucky. Anyway good luck with your phone!

I have dropped my shift multiple times with complete dismantle occurring (battery flying, case exploding, etc.) and have never had a problem. As of now the body is dented and scratched but still runs like a champ. January will be two years. Itching for a new toy, but it will be hard to let go of my shift.

You could always pick something up off contract. That way you save the upgrade.

These shifts are sturdy. I've dropped my shift raw dog no case on concrete numerous times. Only damage is a few scuffs around the edges.
