Is there a way to mount the internal SD, so that when plugging into the cpu i can remove/add files.
Thanks
In a word, no. This phone does not have an internal dedicated storage partition for media like the Incredible does. If you want to modify anything in the internal system memory, you will need to be rooted and use a root capable file manager such as Root Explorer.

i have just downloaded astro file manager. Same thing?
Root explorer is more functional, and Super Manager is even more so, and prettier.

So has anyone been able to figure out how to use the internal memory for movies/music/pictures
I've been able to add items to the internal memory via an update.zip installed through Clockwork.

I don't think you understood my question. but how would I install my music/movies/pics through an update file, and be able to see it in music player and gallery.

I understood your question. I create an update.zip containing the folder structure that Android recognizes, and then I script them to install to internal memory. After rebooting, my ROM is untouched and I have the files in the internal memory.
Can you not just use root explorer to move the media files to a place on internal memory.?

You can put them there with root explorer, but the only place I know of that you can put files on the internal memory is /data. If you place them anywhere else they will disappear after a reboot. I have movies on mine (with root explorer)but in order for the app (rockplayer) to see them I have to remount and chmod the /data directory. I have a very simple script in gscript to do this with as the permissions reset themselves after reboot. Here is the command:
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2/dev/block/mtdblock3 /data chmod 777 /data
The whole thing is a pain and the stock apps don't see the internal memory so you have to use rockplayer or vplayer to use the files. The update.zip is probably a better solution, but I would have no idea how to go about that.
Hi all,
I am having some problems with widgets not loading in Elelinux 7.1.4 RC2 and i supouse they are related to integrated apps2sd. I have moved using adb theese applications to internal storage and I think they are working fine (at least in a couple of hours). Is there any other way to move apps from /sd-ext to /system or adb is just the way to not use apps2sd....
Many Thanks to all and sorry about my bad english..

I had this problem a while back when using a CM based rom. I think the best way to use apps2sd is to use the method where you partition your sd card. I think the rom your using has the ability to select the default location of installed apps somewhere in the settings. Dont let it force any apps to sd, choose what apps to move on your own. Hope this helps lol ive always used the partition sd card method
Doesn't work...
If you choose internal storage... it uses /data/app which a link to /sd-ext/app so it doesn't work ... If you choose SDcard I think it will use sdcard Froyo method...

I always move apps to internal with root explorer. I have an ext partition so I move apps from data app to system app and this works fine for me. Don't forget to mount rw and it should work fine : )

Of course, this is true. Just not as easy as with root explorer for notices : )

There's no settings for this. With ext partition all apps go to SD. It does feel like a conflict to me between froyo apps2SD and the ext method as the phone settings I always leave alone as I think they assume you have the froyo ( Google ) apps2SD. I may be wrong but my guess is a dev like elelinux could do a script but he is so busy producing great work : )

Hi,
I wanted to move some apps from the ext-partition of my cm6-based rom back to the internal memory. I tried moving the apk from /sd-ext/app to /system/app with ES-File Explorer but this broke the apps (FC). Do I need to move more files or is there another trick to get this to work?
Try moving app from data app to system app. I use root explorer for this and works fine
I've got no "app" folder in my /data/ folder

If you're using estrongs I'm not sure you'd see it. Root explorer works for me but ADB is another way to do it. If you have an ext partition on SD all downloaded apps will go there but some file managers I used don't access bits of data on my SD : )

Good all the time!
I hope very much for your help.
it is this:
In the Settings / Storage and All apps / File manager is missing Internal phone storage. How to configure or enable the internal memory? In what may be the problem? Thanks in advance.
You can view your Internal Storage usage by opening settings ans nnavigating to Application > Storage use.

No way of using stock file manager for internal storage. Try root browser

Ive been fooling around with my phone, by that i mean rooting and such. But really recently ive noticed that my internal storage is almost completely full no matter if i factory reset my phone and wipe all caches. The sizes don't even add up, the biggest thing is clockwerk recovery at 2gb but somehow there is another 7gb of something that i can't see. Is there files hidden somewhere that are causing this huge usage of space?
HELP
Use ES file explorer, enable to show hidden files. That should answer your question.

Use clean master from the play store, it will detect what is not needed and ask if you want to delete it.

even that doesn't help there is still 80% of storage taken up by something, could my CWM backups somehow be ending up on my internal storage instead of my SD because it seems that way
Use es file explorer to move any important files from internal storage to external storage (like cwm backups or photos) then wipe internal storage. After that you should have about 9 GB free on your 16 GB s4.

The nandroid backups were what was causing the huge space problems, I moved them to my sdcard and deleted them off my internal sdcard and I now have all my space back.
