Alright, I have looked around and haven't found anything. It's a silly little feature but I like it.
When I was running WM before they got Android working my calendar events & some of the other notices would speak the text. I'm guessing that's what the text to speech is on android but I can't seem to figure it out. I know I can have it speak my incoming texts fairly easy but I'd like to have it speak my events & other stuff like WM did, if that's possible. It's the ONLY thing I miss about WM.

i've used palm's sms and vito. the various sms software that i found else where that is not well discussed as the two mentioned.
if i can hack the registry to also store my texts in its default location while having palm's sms receive the text...i really like palm's sms, but it takes out my text inbox...i think voice command only reads text inbox.

Yes, my wife uses the MS Voice command to read her SMS's out loud. As a joke, I send her crap when I know she is with other people. She doesn't see the humor in it like I do.
Hehe i did this when a friend of mine had software for outlout reading of s60 device content installed on his n70 while in pub it had czech support, but i never heard funnier voice read out crap and czech curse words
Lol, we live in units, and the outside plumbing for the sewerage system broke.
I was in a meeting when I got, at max volume"
"Giant crap just outside window, think I'm gonna puke, leaving"
Lol, I have never been so proud of my GF
Hey guys, so i just installed a new sms threaded text messaging cab the other day, i believe it was something called like codyppc threaded text...i LOVE it so far, except for one problem...it seems like now, i don't get the "word" suggestions anymore when i am typing...i even went to the settings and selected "input" and made sure to check off the box saying to allow the phone to suggest certain words based on what i've typed so far....
is there any solution to this...?
or better yet, is there any BETTER program out there for threaded text?
Ok so I'm a noob
Can you explain to me step by step how to install it>?? I'm soo lost and I don't know what any of this means. I don't really care about the word suggestions, I just want the threading. If you don't want to put the time in then just let me know. I won't mind. Thanks
SMS Threading
Can you post the .cab file that works best on T-Mobile Herald..I have looked everywhere and all the ones i've tried mess up my ability to send MMS.
if you use a custom rom from the rom threads they all have it built in and dont mess with anything plus 100000x better than the stock rom
Hi all,
What I am talking about here, is if there is any application to replace the current sms interface with a larger and cooler one. I don't know if I am that bad in searching but I couldn't find one thread talking about that. Is there anything like Inesoft contacts, dialer etc... but for the sms interface??
There is one called SMS-Chat and another one called Smiley SMS. They are the only two I know of. Hope they can be of help to you.
I recently tried SMS Chat and though the interface looked a lot better than the built-in one, it was terribly slow
I tried Smiley SMS which I didn't like at all. I am trying now SMS Chat, if I like it I am going to buy it. One question, is it possible to make sms chat the default SMS manager instead of the built it one??
I was looking for something more like the iPhone SMS interface but I think there is no one available at the moment, and maybe I should try and make one myself.
Hi, i need a bit of help trouble shooting an issue i have.
My G1 is running the jesusfreke ADP 1.5 image. I normally use chompsms as my default messaging client.
Quite regularly my friends are tellingme that my text messages are coming through garbled. Either all squares, or every other character is an @ symbol.
The outgoing messages appear normal on my phone.
I asked one person to forward my last messed up msg back, and it came through like this:
<Forwarded from +44777123456>
Well he is one! Don't worry about h
Although on my phone, the square symbols with numbers in show up as chinese characters.
Very strange! It happens periodically with no trigger that i can find. When it starts doing it, it continues for a couple of msgs at least.
Has anyone heard of this before, or have any ideas what i can do to fix it?
Hi all,
My problem seems pretty simple but I can't seem to find the right answer/software.
I have 2 phones, one for work and a personal one which is a G1. When I go into the office I take my G1 with me but I leave it in my bag on silent as I can be away from my desk a lot and carrying 2 phones around is a pain. This leads to missed calls and so. I've tried searching for something that can help but there are so many programs and posts that are more to do with missed call notification light colours and things like that and it makes it difficult to find anything relevant to what I want. Also, I don't really want to use call forwarding if I can help it.
So, does anyone know of a program which can SMS details of a missed call to another phone and also forward SMSs that I receive to another phone? I'd simply like a program that I could run whenever I also put my phone on silent.
Thanks for your time in advance
