[q] help me pls!!! My android wouldn't boot anymore - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi everyone,
I had boot the android OS on my hd2 device before. BUT problems happen today for me to boot my android OS...when i click either CLRCAD or HARET file, it show me a message:
"The file cannot be opened. Eithere it is no signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try to reinstalling or restoring this file."
Did anyone of you facing this kind of problem before? Anyone have solution or suggestions? I have different Android file in my device. BUT i only name the android file that i want to boot with "android"...I dont think multipile android folder affect the booting process right? So did anyone know what the problem now? I CAN BOOT ANDROID before this..BUT NOW I CANT!!! HELP ME PLS!!! =.=

I can only assume that you've recently flashed a new ROM, or that you've been playing with settings in WM. Either way, install BsB Tweaks and make sure that you enable the option that allows you to install unsigned apps. (I can't remember the exact wording, but it's pretty obvious from the description.)
That should solve your problem and allow you to run Android again.
Hope it helps mate.

T.T...i have installed BsB Tweaks on my deivce...it works normal before this...but now IT DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE!!! WHAT HAPPENING TO MY DEVICE....T.T

Did you check the option that I said needs to be enabled?

hmmm....i cant open the bsb app now...what i doing now was i try to reinstall the app and see how it works...T.T..hope everything fine

It's this option (as per the BsB thread)...
Polices
■- Allow install and run unsigned applications.
Make sure that's enabled and you should be able to run the 2 exes.

HI....bad news...i cant re-install my BsB tweak App again..it say installing process was unsuccesful...do you know whats happening ? T.T...sad

I'm afriad not mate. You've obviously done something recently, like install some new software or flash a new windows ROM, and that's caused the problems you're having.
What have you done recently?

I did not install any new ROM or software recently...what i did was i just boot android last few days ago...but the moment i change my device back to WM...eveything goes so wrongly...i cannot boot adnroid anymore...T.T...what happening...T.T
the android build that i boot was from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=802194

It's definitely WM that you're having problems with, not Android. We need to get to the bottom of that problem. You said that you can't install BsB Tweaks. What happens when you try?

Had the same problem the first time I installed Android. Couldn't even install normal .cabs without getting "The file cannot be opened. Eithere it is no signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try to reinstalling or restoring this file."
I tried everything and ended up doing a hard reset which solved the problem. If you end up doing this, install SDKcerts before anything else!
Hope this helps.

when i was trying to install the bsb tweaks, it show me that the installation was unsuccessful..T.T

Hi,you ask me to install the SDK certs first? what was the thing you ask me to install? and wher can i get the SDKcerts so that i can install on my device?

I didnt want to make a new thread since this one is about the booting of android failure.
I kinda have some issues.
Yesterday I first installed m-deejay build snce warm, 2day i changed it to the build of the the same auothor, sence aswell. But stumbling on a weird problem. Once I turn android off, and try to boot android again I stumble to a problem of the phone hanging in screen with htc on it, have been waiting for 10 minutes now, dont know if waiting longer will help, gonna try it.
I do still use the original 2gb card that came with the phone, I did installed some apps from the market (whats app, ping chat, camera app). After that I stumbled to a weird problem of market not downloading apps anymore.. and time from time I loose my internet connection
Does anyone know what may cause the booting time of android?
PS. Using artemus rom had hardresetted so it was completley clean before install of the build. The build does work well, but once I restart the phone it does the thing with long booting time 15 minutes passed now still nothign..
Any ideas how come? Thank you

can't help you or tell you the reason because you are not giving enough details about what you are trying to install, what is going wrong. How are you trying to install. Exe or .cab files. are you just getting error's during the installation
i tried to install .cab & .exe , but it says install unsuccessful, for example SPB & Battery status
mmmm
On what ?... is the cab on the phone or on the PC ???????
i tried both , but i couldnt
You have the HTC Touch Elf right? No cabs at all are instaling on your phone.
Possibiliites:
1. The cab files are being currupted either while you are downloading them or while you are sending them to your phone. FYI Cab files are to be installed via your phone not PC. Transfer the complete cab to phone and just click it to install - Do Not Unzip it. (A cab file looks like it is a zip file or a rar file wen it is on your PC but don't be fooled. it is a cab and does not need to be unzipped) you will only see a bunch of messy files and will just get confuzed. just place the cab on your phone and tap it with your stylus to initiate install
Exe's are to be installed via your PC to your phone through activsinc. place the exe on your desktop (Or wherever) and connect your phone to your PC using Activsinc. Then click the exe on your desktop and follow installation instructions - NOte you will have to still do some clicking on your phone to allow the installation.
2. you are not installing them properly and therfore follow instructions above.
3. your phone is currupt somehow (I don't see how) Try a hard reset and see if the programs will install after that. if not, you might want to return your phone for warranty (I am assuming you just got this phone and this is the first time you are trying to install something.
4. Maybe you have run out of room on your device to install any more applications (if you have been installing tons of other stuff successfully)
I have never gotten any errors installing cabs or exe's exept for when I was trying to install something that my phone did not support. (Not a valid WM application) or something like that.
Edit: You still are not give us much information - What type of error are you getting - What does your phone show/tell you?
Does it start to install and fail half way through? does it not start at all? does it install and the programs just do not run?
Tell us what program you are trying to install - what error you are getting and when you are getting it. Tell us the method you have used to install it etc....
If you want help you will have to provide us with as much information and detail as you can. Otherwise - Good Luck.
I will check back here regularly to see your response and try to help, but if you don't give us much more detail - no one will be able to help you.
Did you flashed your ROM recently?
it start to install and fail half way through, but not all of the softwares , for example i cant install tcpmp,wm router , battery status , and alot of softwares , the error is always the same ( it start to install and fail half way through)

I don't know about battery status or wm router but TCPMP is an exe type installation. if you try to install this using your phone by putting the TCPMP installation on your phone and clicking to install, it won't work. You have to put the installation file on your computer, connect your device to your computer through activesinc. then click the TCPMP Installation on your desktop and follow instructions. Make sure you accept installation on your device when your device asks. The others may be the same
i did like that , but nothing changed , same message , install unsuccessful

Are you trying to install to your storage card or to device? Are you certain that you have enough storage space left?
Do you have any problems with Activsinc?
Have you tried downloading another copy of TCPMP - Maybe the copy you have is no good.
yeh , i tried on both storage and device memory , i have 1.5 gb remaining on storage also
my active sync is working in perfect condition, i dont know wht happend , ok , is there anything that i can upgrade my phone ???

I don't know if I can help you with this problem. I have never had any problems installing anything onto my device even when the app wasn't compatible. usually still installed, just wouldn't run. I am still using official stock WM 6.0 rom that came on my device. (have not ever flashed a new ROM or Radio and don't know anything about that. If you did flash a new ROM or radio, that could be what is causing your problems and you may want to examine in the thread where you got your ROM or Radio from for answers or to see if anyone else is having the same difficulties. Perhaps PM the person who cooked the ROM. If you havn't flashed any new ROM or Radio, then maybe you changed something in your registry that you shouldn't have with a registry editor (just a thought - don't know if you have ever done this) or maybe you have an app on your phone that is causing conflict when trying to install other apps. You can always try a hard reset of your device (if you don't mind starting from scratch again customizing your device) and then try installing TCPMP and see if it works right after a hard reset. That would suggest either something was changed in your registry or that another app was causing conflict. Bit of a pain in the a## having to reinstall everything(unless you don't have much installed on your device) and still no guarantee that it will work. Before doing a hard reset, you might want to look into backing up your device. (I don't know anyting about backing up - what program to use or how much it can back up such as setting or such but you might want to check it out. Also make sure you sincronize your device with your computer prior to hard reset so that all your contacts, appointments etc... are up to date that way after a hard reset you can just syncronize your device again and get your contacts and appointments etc... back.
If anyone else has any suggestions here -- Please feel free to jump in. I know that I would be really annoyed not being able to install new apps to my device.
Good luck. I hope this gets figured out for you
Rod
i had the same problem, it was unbelievably frustrating, i had to restore my X1i to factory settings, that fixed the problem.
I think you should follow hotrod101's suggestion and do a hard reset. Its quite likely that your phone has malfunctioned or something. It's probably going to save you a lot of work in the long run. Or turn in your device in one of the HTC service centers as already stated. Don't forget to back all your stuff up first.
Good Luck.
thanx alot
you did not say whether your rom is original or coked as i met some problems with cocked roms in installing arabic based applications that was easily installed before flashing me device
Did you get things figured out - If so please share with the rest what you did to solve your problem, in case others are having similar problems. Did one of our suggestions help or did you find another solution?
same problem on my Touch Pro, seams to be common ... some say that it is due to the fixed number (50 installed programs) on the touch flue ... however, I have no more information of how did they got this result, or what is the registry of this issue???
I hope if someone help on this to avoide us the headache cused by hard reset, just thinking about it make me crazy.
even hard reset is not a solution.

CAB "Installation Unsuccessful"

Hi,
I've been trying to install gyrator and got this message so tested several other CABs and now seem to be getting this message on trying to install any CAB - really frustrating
Any ideas what might be causing this?
My Blackstone configuation is all pretty standard with original ROM etc
Any suggestions welcomed!
try reinstalling the cab again, it should say that it will remove previous installed version and will reinstall, BUT it wont proceed with the installation. Now after this, go back to the remove programs section and check if its still there.
Wondering if you found the issue, as i have this happening over 4 or 5 different ROM's, ruled out that its a ROM issue, trying to narrow it down to a 3rd party app, unsucessful so far.
When trying to install ANY cab i get the 'unsucessful installation' error message - including cabs i've already installed. Flash my phone this morning, install apps i wanted to, went to install something else this evening, now getting this message.
I've got Sktools installed and i am able to install cabs via this.
Got that problem too on Xperia X1, can't figure out either what the cause might be. Anyone any ideas?
Found my cause - it was installing Twikini

so you can't install apps after installing twikini?
I'm getting the "uninstall unsuccessfu" for almost anything i try to install and do have twikini installed (but i can't remember if it was the last app i've installed).
Also i can't open attachments in my emails, can't download files from PIE and when i go to remove programs (start-settings-system-remove programs) the list is empty...
DId you have to hard reset or did u find away around this?
btw, i'm having these issues on my kaiser.
Finally I found what my problem was, even if I can't understand, why this is a problem.
From time to time, e.g. when I got no USB cable around, I used to send the .cab vie E-Mail to have them on my device. Well, and as a matter of fact, exactly those are the ones, where installation fails.
Copying exactly the same file via USB to storage card ends in everything working fine....
So i flashed a new rom and installed twikini first, everything was ok for a couple of days. But all of a sudden this problem is back.
I know its not the .cab files because they're the same cabs i'm trying to install that i install on almost every rom after i flash them.
I'm thinking its yahoo go.

Skyfire installed unsuccessfully

Hello!
Tried to install skyfire but got the message 'skyfire installed unsuccessfully'. Anyone know why? Someone mentioned applications that are not certified by Windows Mobile... is that it? How do we go about it?
Many thanks,
jae
skyfire
hi guys
i am having the same problem
and getting this kinda problem with a lot of other software and games too
i try to install and get the message "installed unsuccessfully"
HALP !!
mine installed but everytime i boot it it gets an error and has me exit.
worked on my touch pro so what gives...
Happens also when You update MS market. Don´t mind. If app opens and works correctly after "unsuccessful install" don´t bother.
Happens also when updating already installed apps but still after update they work fine in the updated version.
I think we must accept that windows is not the most reliable operating system, and it doesn't integrate with the HTC device as seemlessly as we see with other OSs and devices (I DON'T want to mention any names ). There are certain advantages though...
Anyway, to the point... after repeatedly trying, I have now installed Skyrife successfully. No reason, didn't do anything different. Just executed the .cab file again and again...
mine installs just wont work once its on the phone...

[Q] Certificate problems

Hi..
Tried the latest Android Froyo build on my phone with some interesting results.
I downloaded Froyo, copied the Android folder to my SD card, hit CLRCAD and then Haret. Froyo started booting, but after 4-5 lines all stopped. There was nothing happening after 15-20 min, so i pulled the battery, and started the phone again.
Now i get the message (in Norwegian)
"The file <filename> cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found. If the problem persists try reinstalling or restorig the file"
The problem is that none of the programs installed on the SD-card runs. They all get the above error.
I can not install any programs (reg editors) because i again get the above message. My registry editor that is already installed wont work, and i can not install anything.
I have tried Googling the problem and i've also searched the forums here in XDA. But i have not found anything that actually might work, because they all wants to install something. I can not install anything, and all of my 3'rd party apps doesn't work.
How do i disable the certificate verification without having to install anything or run any 3'rd part apps??
Is there maybe any program that i can run from my Win7 computer??
Thanks for all informing answers..
Certificate problem?
Exactly the same thing happens to me. Bump!
I'm also having this problem, seems to affect .exe files regardless of whether they are on the SD Card or on the device itself. Same cause as well.
2 reasons may be:
Either you run a stock rom and you need to install certinstaller search here on xda or run a custom rom
Or the sdcard is corrupt so you have to reformat
When you post issues pls give details as well like what hspl, rom, radio you use so people could help you out

Hmm, yeah, it's a stock ROM (for now). I cant't install anything so the certinstaller can't help me.... Now i have to find out how to run a custom ROM.
I have also reformatted the SD-cart with no luck.
My (for now) stock phone:
Manila: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM: 1.66.409.1 (76641) NOR
Radio: 2.06.51.07
Using a custom ROM as a base for Android will heed much better results.
Full instructions for flashing a custom ROM are found here (and here for TMOUS HD2).
^^^ Also I notice you have an old radio (2.06). I'm quite sure you need a 2.10 or 2.12 radio for Android...most people seem to have had the best results from 2.12. You will learn how to do that in the link above I just gave you.
As well, there are programs that allow you to edit the registry while connected via activesync that don't require installing anything on the phone.
Case closed
Well, it seemed like a good time to reset the phone now...
While having this problem, i upgraded the SPL with no problem.
Downloaded the newest Dutty-rom, and tried to upgrade, but because no 3'rd part progs will run, this didn't work. I had to hard reset the phone, and then upgrade the ROM and then the Radio.
Everything seems OK so far...
Thanks for all replies
any luck? i m having the same problem

Can't boot 'Droid' on TMOUS HD2 keep getting software not trusted cert

Hi, ( i hope this is the right forum for this or if not can someone please help me or direct me to the right now to resolve this) just wondering if anyone(s) out there that had this problem after they had any of the TMOUS HD2 'Driods' hacks installed on a SD card, had it running for a while, then turn off your phone, try to restart and get this error (this is occuring on both the CLRCAD and HARET programs) "The File 'XXXX" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem preresist, try reinstalling or restoring this file". i have already formatted and reinstalled the files on the SD card and been to most of the forums here about this issue for their resolution. (all with no luck) If there anyone out there with a simple resoultion (hopefully nothing too complex like a reg hack) can you please help me out with this issue. Thanks in advance
Is haret and the clr cab on the root and the Android files inside the Android folder?
Don't know much more than that. Try a diff winmo Rom I guess.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
All of the files are still in the same directory and tried different ROMs, like i mentioned i had it running well for a while until i shut down the phone. Dont know if the "'Driod' hacks" or some unkown "update" from T-moble had something to do with it...
I have the same problem and I have also tried the same fixes you have I dont know what to do hopefully we can get a solution.
Perhaps try SDA unlocker? It removes the need for .CAB's or .exe's to be signed with a certificate. Either search the forums here or Google for "SDA Unlocker", download it, connect your phone via USB, and run the program to remove the lock.
Doesn't bsb tweats get rid of that. It'll let you run install unsigned cabs.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
I don't remember, I have always just used SDA unlocker with every device i've ever owned with a stock ROM.
Can yall please shoot me a link to bsb tweats or sda unlocker so I can get this android running again asap thanks
alright this is getting real weird just to give you an update I found sdk certificates and it didnt install I tried restarting and installing it on the sd card and phone memory. I also found bsb tweak and it didnt install. I downloaded .net 3.5 but it said I have and updated version already so I completely dont know what to do all I want is the android to work again. Also just to let you know I have tried other build s of the android just to troubleshoot they all say the same thing now not signed with trusted certificate or one of its components is missing. It seems like tmobile blocked it. I truly need someones helps can you please give me an answer
09099090009090
I'm having the same problem, but only after I switch back to WinMo from Android.
This also is happening to me. I am unable to install any .cabs from the memory card. I installed HD2Tweak earlier and now it gives the same error. I can install from Windows Market.... What gives?
