My phone had last sync in the morning at 10.59am
since then I'm unable to receive or send email.
I tried to sync manually but I have error 0x8600050c
settings in my phone are ok, I checked 1000 times. Nothing was changed in the email settings.
Whats wrong with my phone?
thanks for the help
how to reset only the email accounts without reset all the phone?
Try this thread.
It's working, Thank You!
I had to uncheck the mail in options, reboot, check the mail in options, reboot and sync!

There are no emails but it's showing always 1 unread email. Any ideas?
Had the same problem multiple times on multiple ROMs.. never found a solution.
Open activesync, and under settings uncheck email sync....
For me it happened after I did the Activesync trick, to prevent it running all the time.
The problem was: After this trick, there was an unread email from email tips and tricks, in the newly created account. Just go there and you will see. For me it was on the top of the accounts page...
Sorry if I'm wrong, but in that case do just the opposite: check email sync, in activesync's settings and then go to the email tab, select the unread email and thats it.
Try what jolas say's first, but I had a similar problem with my hermes and used fixunreadcount.exe attached
I haven't tried this on my HD as I haven't experienced same problem.
If fixunreadcount.exe or jolas suggestion doesn't work try the following:
1) Backup using SPB Backup. Uncheck messages so they aren't included in the backup.
2) Hard reset the device
3) Restore using SPB Backup
4) Re-setup your email accounts

That fixed it. Thanks!
there is a solution. and very easy
open your email just click scroll on right side (few times) and you will see the unread email. delete it and be happy.
edit: forgot to say that you have to open the email inbox and not directly the email. then scroll 2-3-4 times and you will find the unread email.. this unread email comes exactly then when you want to prevent the active sync by creating a fake account for active sync in the database.
Hi,
I set up my email on my phone (a blueyonder email account) and it worked fine. I set it to manually download which I did occasionally when I was out and about and it picked up my emails with no problems.
However for the last week or so it connects ok says receiving say 3 emails then states finished but the inbox is empty. If you re-send/receive there is nothing as it thinks its downloaded them already.
I've not changed anything since before this problem and have since checked all the settings to make sure there is no auto reject or delete on which there isn't but it does it every time.
It's annoying as I wanted this phone for the email capabilities which are currently not much use. I've done a soft reset but it didn't help and I don't really want to to a hard reset as I've set up all my contacts and settings and don't want to lose them.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Stu
ps. Outgoing emails work fine!
try setting up another email acc (e.g. yahoo mail or gmail) and see if it gives the same problem. Then we would be clearer on the problem.
Hi,
Thanks for reply, I've sorted it now. I ended up doing a hard reset which has cured the problem. The only downside is that it took a while to re-configure my contacts and preferences but at least it all works at the moment.
Fortunately I synced it with outlook on the PC so could just download my contacts and calenders.
Always do backup.. should you need to do hard reset later, everything is recoverable.
Randomly but frequently I get the email popup that askjs for my user name and password. I repeatedly enter it and click the svae box but it continues to pop up. It happened on the 2.10 ROM and now the 2.13 ROM. Any ideas on a fix???
I have deleted my yahoo email and set it up multiple times, tried a hard and soft reset.

I had that happen to my GMail Account. But I guess it was because it had a captcha lock on it. I do not know if Yahoo has that type of thing.
Can you login into yahoo on your pc?

My Yahoo mail on my HD2 was working just fine until yesterday...now it won't synch at all and keeps giving me the following message:
"Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings" (which then takes me to the T-Mobile Data settings, which I never change and leave on default)
All other mail accounts (Hotmail, Gmail, etc) working just fine...
HELP??
Same thing with my HD2. My gmail and university email dont show, it syncs sometimes but does not download any mail(i can see the new emails on my computer but they dont show on the phone) but hotmail works just fine.
anybody found a solution? I tried deleting the account and setting it up again, doesn't work!!
The problem starts today 13 June, my Gmail just won't push, I already tried to "Clear data" on Gmail storage and Gmail application from the "Manage applications" option. But I can't sign in and get an error message "Cannot establish connection bla bla bla".
I even tried to reflash my ROM three times already, did the factory reset. no use. Finally I restored the nandroid back up that I have, it's signed in but Gmail still won't push. Internet 2G 3G Wifi all Ok, but Gmail won't push...
Does Gmail server down??
Any suggestions?!
Thanks! =)
Hey, I can sign in and Gmail works fine when I'm connected to VPN...
I do live in China, so I think it's the local server of Gmail... Isn't it?
my gmail pushes fine... would suggest you make sure under settings/accounts that your gmail is set to sync your mail?? might try signing out and signing in again on phone
Oh ok, thanks for your reply, as I expected, the China server of Gmail has a problem and moved the address of host. If anyone of you experiencing the same problem, email me, I'll help you solve it =)

Since the update to kitkat, my S4 has been syncing and downloading email messages right around midnight (11:42 last night, 12:04 the night before, etc.) I have a pop3 email account set up (Comcast) and sync is turned on except that I have sync settings set to manual. Before kitkat, it would only retrieve email when I opened the app and actually hit the sync button. What changed in kitkat to cause it to retrieve email late at night? I've checked the settings and searched the forum. Any ideas? I could turn sync off entirely, but would have to turn it on each time I want to manually retrieve my email.

Press on gmail app from the phone and it will pop up sync email enable or disable. Uf you enable then them. Do for serveal time order it to eat. I have the same issues. Be careful with pop setup it pulling everything from the servers and transfer to ur phone without make copy to the servers, unless that is what u want.

I have the same issue, two email accounts set to manual sync that automatically pull emails once a day without me opening the program.
The only solution I've found is to turn on sync each time you want to check your email and then off again when you're done. This is a hassle and I wish there was a better solution. Something has to be triggering the event.
I'm also having this same problem.
