N1 Now in stock for Android developers - Nexus One General

I just checked and the phone is for sale again at quantities up to 10 and at $529.00

i thought the developer phone came back in stock a while ago?

I had been checking and as recently as last week it wasn't there.

Just got one yesterday for a Linux-guru friend. It comes with SLCD and 2.2.1 these days.

That's cool especially with the slcd screen! They will probably sell like hotcakes & run out, since they never stock enough....

where can i get one from??

it's bad.
no longer free overnite shipping.
and no satisfaction guarantee. totally no return.
the service of bright star co. really sucks. no one answers the support call. no call back. they emailed back really late and they were stopping shipping my order... i complained about it but they shipped ground when i was asking to cancel and order it again. dunno why they just can't give me a call back.
why google use this company, not allowing HTC to sell it directly from their web store? that company take margin and shipping from HTC to their warehouse. that'll keep nexus one more expensive than G2.

Where'd you get your TyTN

Hi, I really kind of hate askin questions like this, cause so many opinions can vary, but I am trying to get a few ideas on reputable dealers, since I have never dealt with any of them before, I was planning on getting one through Smart-Mobile-Gadgets, they were just mentioned in a few reviews/posts I read in the beginning and seems like a good dealer, but I see so many other places offering TyTN's now.
If you have bought a TyTN and recieved a US charger without the UK adapter, or have had to send your unit back for warranty and recieved good customer service or know of places with good warranty contracts/extended service, or just know of a very reputable dealer, any info you might share would be greatly appreciated.
Also if you happen to know any dealers that have been shipping the 630 serial models.
Thanks
I used phonesource-usa via eBay w/o any issues at all. When Christian replaced my original TyTN, the new one came through with an HT630 serial number. He offered a 3 day return policy on eBay. I'd also check his website to see if it's the same there or not.
I have heard good things about phonesource, but MMB (Mad Monkey Boys Gadgets) I have dealt with personally and he is excellant. Recieved a USA Charger with mine and the 630+ Ser #. excellant communicaitons as well.
I went through quite an exercise on my quest for a TyTN:
1. I went to Smart-Mobile-Gadgets, and pre-ordered an early shipment from him in late July for an August ship date. Unfortunately, he ended up getting a bad shipment (all MTeORs and no TyTNs), but I'm happy to say he promptly refunded my money. (Overall experience: no phone but still an "A")
2. I went to PhonesourceUSA. I bought a TyTN (628-series), which he promptly shipped to me overnight (I paid extra for that). (Overall grade: "A+")
3a. After about a week with the TyTN, I experienced the stupid stylus silo problem. I arranged to have the device replaced as a DOA. In support of this, I shipped the device out for Saturday delivery, with the expectation that a replacement would be shipped back to me the following Monday. I would have preferred that he ship the replacement before he received the bad unit, but I could live with this arrangement. (Interim experience: "B+")
3b. Well, it didn't ship on Monday... and it wasn't until Tuesday when I called to complain that he did ship a device... but he shipped it 7-day Ground! Unfortunately for me, this happened around the Labor Day holiday, and a full 10 days passed without my replacement TyTN. Suffice it to say I was IRATE... especially after having paid the premium for overnight the first time around and specifically requesting that he send it as quickly as possible (I needed my phone back). Bottom line, I did get my new device earlier this week (630-series), and it seems to be working fine, but the shipping fiasco turned what had been a very good sales experience into a very disappointing one and soured my opinion of this vendor. (Overall grade: "C-")
So the moral of the story: go with the vendor that's going to do right by you on the support front. Given the opportunity to do this all over again, I think I would have bought from MadMonkeyBoy. Although his website is the toughest to use, he's got the scale and the track record to back up what he sells.
Of course this is just my personal experience/opinion and YMMV....
madmonkeyboy all the way.
Bought my HTC Prophet from him....
And now my HTC TyTN.
I keep telling myself not to get the Trinity when she comes out but I'll most likely get that from David as well.
My TyTn
I bought my TyTn at my local dealer !
Fox-Computer in Paris http://www.fox-direct.com
With the GPSlim 240 Holux.
MMD too
www.itmagasinet.dk
I wouldn't recommend for anyone else though; they don't live up to their responsibilities concerning RMA.
Luckily I'm getting more and more happy with my device, so I'm not going to return it anyway ;-)

I'd rather David spend his time on Customer Service and fast shipping than a website.
Brought mine from mobileshop.com - placed the order about 2PM, arrived 9AM the next day! Didn't even pay a dime for the device or shipping. £35/18months. Magic.

Beware if you buy parts from Global Direct Parts

Anybody looking to buy parts from Global Direct Parts .com beware of them, it's a scam.
I placed an order for 4 ribbon cables for HD2 phones on a sat. The next monday I wanted to add something the said it was already processed, so I had to place another order and pay shipping.
They FAQ says they can reduce min quantities if I buy at least $ 125 of parts, so I add a LCD and place order. They cancelled since now they want $ 149 min. They also went over and changed their web site, so I cannot prove anything.
After 2 weeks my parts are not here, so I call and a wiseguy said I still have to wait until the next 2 days since it was still processing.
The next day they email me they lost my package.
I reply demanding they ship another with Express delivery to make up for the poor service.
They decline and want to issue a refund, and guess what, price on items has gone up (what a coincidence).
I emailed today asking where is my refund (paid with Paypal) and they stated it takes 2 BUSINESS days to issue it.
I placed a claim on Paypal and they emailed back threaten me to stall refund indefinitely unless I remove the claim.
Sorry for this long rant, but such a poor customer service place shouldn't be allowed to do business. I invite anybody NOT to use this place.
They also falsely claim they have all the parts in USA, while they actually dropship from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Beware guys !!!
Wow. That sux

I will agree. Terrible customer service. They say they have new or "a" stock.... the "a" stock are used parts, including damaged and unusable. the others are just in poor shape. then there's the problem with them making you pay to ship their junk back, even after it has been determined to be their error. that's just shady. then the total bs they call customer service... if your lucky to get someone, they are uneducated and clueless about anything going on. good luck trying to get answers or some management to reply to you. i own a repair shop and have spent (wasted) thousands of dollars with these losers.
BEWARE AND AVOID!!!!!
thanks will know
I bought 10 Ffc and no problem I'm sorry you had pRoblems with them

I bought a Samsung Captivate housing almost a year ago and it took about 5 days to get it. Part was new with no scratches at all.
Had no problem with them
I have bought some FFC's from them before and didnt have any issue. Good to know though if I do anything through them in the future!
I bought some. Speakers for an evo 4g about 8 months ago and all went well. About a month or 2 later I got emails from them saying that they had a major employee leave and not to trust emails coming from a. Similar company.
I had a great experience with them and the parts were perfect
Hi All,
It seems that this company went through a bit of a struggle at some point. Being a business owner myself I know that dealing with the public is not always easy especially when you have employees that are not the right fit. You can only do your best and learn from your mistakes and successes.
I just purchased tablet frames from them and they were perfect, the customer service was perfect and I am going to their website now to purchase more. I found some really hard to find products in new condition and at a great price. Personally my experience was great and I would highly recommend them. Definitely NOT a scam. They delivered.

I think it is true that maybe a competitor is trying to sabotage them. I saw the same exact review plastered across several different review sites. I just got parts from Global Direct Parts recently. While I can't say the parts are so good, the customer service was very rapid and good. Apparently they sent an aftermarket that was suppose to be OEM. The customer service agent said the Huawei OEM parts are hard to come by and they usually get it out of refurbished phones now and some might have been refurbished before with aftermarket parts that they didn't end up catching. They immediately refunded me saying since the OEM parts is hard to come by, there is a good chance I'll get another aftermarket.
The other 3 parts they sent are good and as described. I would definitely do business with the company again.

Expansys UK..

...really are a Company I have concerns about. Last night at 11pm they had '100+' in stock of the HTC One. By 6am this morning they were 'stock due in 4 days'. Really? Or is this just a great way to get people to order an item they then find is out of stock.
I speak from experience of having waited 2 months for this Company to refund me for an HTC ONE X+ that I returned within 3 days of receipt. The reason for this delay? There wasn't one. I called them approx 3 times per week to be continually told the refund was being processed, however after 7 weeks I finally got the honest truth.... They hadn't taken any action at all and had simply not actioned the refund because they had mislaid my card details.

So with all the issues you had before you go ahead and order from them again?? ::confused
Expansys are the official HTC accessories company for UK.
I have no experience of ordering phone from them, but have bought numerous genuine HTC accessories from them.
My experience has been positive, one recent purchase was HTC flip case, after receiving my order , without contacting them I received an email advisory that a improved version was available, and without any extra charge was sent to me.
So whilst not discounting your experience, I have really good service and consequently wouldn't hesitate to buy from them in future

I tend to agree, I have previously enjoyed ordering items from them but since last summer they seem to have made a turn for the worst. I never received a 32 GB sdcard and despite emailing them several times I never did get a refund. Also I ordered a galaxy note 10.1 for Christmas and they didn't dispatch in time for Christmas.......because they were waiting for the sdcard to come back in stock..... .hello!

Sorry mis-read your original post so my apologies.... note to self grab a coffee and wake up before replying!
its really bizarre, as some retailers don't have any issues with stock whilst some are playing this trick the OP mentioned.. Wifey ordered from Very and she is still waiting.. I thought the stock issues should have been sorted out by now.. I can feel your pain..
Unfortunately, they have a bad system. The only way I was able to understand it was like this: Say they have 120 backorders, and you were customer number 101 from those 120. They then receive 100 units, instead of shipping them directly, they update their inventory/system that they received 100 units, hence their website show 100 in stack, but then they ship them to the 100 customers and stock is finished. The balance 20 backorders will have to wait for a new batch!

UK Warranty / replacements out of stock

I was due to have a phone exchanged yesterday but late in the afternoon it still hadn't arrived and received no notification. Rang Samsung for the 3rd time and there are supply shortages (I assume only replacement stock as no doubt sales are more important - this is generally how Samsung operate).
SO if you need an exchange - next week at the earliest. Bummer. Been waiting since last weds already. Luckily mine isn't a critical fault.
I am in the same situation, I've so far been waiting a week and have been told to expect my replacement on Tuesday, then on Friday as I was told they had no stock at the time. This will be my second replacement, the first replacement came next day but has a very red screen that can't even be tweaked back to white with the colour 'fix' update.
You'll know when to expect it as you'll receive two emails from UPS late in the afternoon of the day before delivery. I know that this time I'm going to have to make the poor UPS guy wait while I power the new phone on to check it isn't even worse than this one, because dealing with Samsung is painful.
The customer service is terrible, there is no communication from them at all and the customer service reps don't seem to have a clue what is happening. I even went in to a Samsung 'Experience' store and they had stock but were no help at all, as I didn't buy it from them directly. If I walked in to an Apple Store with a new faulty iPhone they would have replaced it there and then.

Yes I agree but they are slightly better than even last year when they insisted your phone was returned first!
I might to to an experience store as I bought it from Samsung. It is times like this, I wish I'd used CPW (although they aren't really much better but are local). I also do not understand why CPW have 'Samsung' reps but they are unable to exchange. Just stupid. Samsung needs to do some work here...
I've just had my warranty replacement delivered an hour ago which was organised on Monday.

Can't say I had any problems. First time I've ever dealt with Samsung support and found it painless. I bought this phone from someone who upgraded their contract and was afraid the original owner would have had to deal with Samsung. But they didn't ask any questions, just booked a replacement to be delivered and the old phone picked up at the same time.
Well I went to Oxford Street branch of the experience store and all I can say is what a poor experience it was. No replacement stock available even though they were actively selling them to new customers and after I rang yesterday asking if they could exchange it.
Apple wannabees that's all Samsung are.
Phone still not exchanged.

I feel your pain mate. Disgraceful customer service.
Its thursday, so I should have had the emails from UPS informing me of a collection/delivery tomorrow but guess what!? Nothing. So Samsung lied, AGAIN.
I kinda understand that they want to sell phones they have but customer loyalty is how Apple got to where they are. Still a big difference between Samsung and Apple.
Why would they expect stock to come in then fail to deliver? Very poor approach.

So now it transpires that there is stock, but only for new business. Therefore I've ordered a new device and will return the faulty one under the 30 day return policy. Stupid.

Anyone else feel that launch day buyers got the shaft?

So,
I purchased my oneplus 5 in less than an hour after launch and I put the welcome kit (which was discounted) in my cart so I could get an extra charger and a case to protect my phone. I was trying to checkout in a hurry and I saw that as I was trying to checkout the kit said out of stock, but I thought it would go ahead and charge me and send it to me when they got back in stock. I honestly was thinking the phone was about to sell out and wanted to get my purchase through.
So after my order was complete, I tried to go back and take time and noticed all the cases were "Out of Stock". In less than an hour after the phone launched (crazy right).
But then the day after launch everything was magically back in stock
But now to buy a case from Oneplus, you have to pay $30 or some idiotic price for shipping, unless of course you spend over $100. Seriously? And there are almost 0 cases to buy anywhere else.
This is my first time dealing with Oneplus. I do like the phone but the way this company handles launches on top of everything else I've read about them in the past is starting to make me wonder how this experience is going to go.
I could easily return the phone for a full refund, then buy another one, get the $20 discount on accessories and free shipping.. But I think that's stupid to have to go through all that. They should make things right for day 1 launch buyers Right?
I completely agree with you . Its frustrating that the cases were out-of-stock. After hammering away for an hour I did manage to get the car charger but seriously, they should offer free shipping (not expedited) for accessories. It's not like they are cheap.
Call me a pessimist, but did you contact them and ask if they could work with you on a discount for shipping, or did you just come immediately here to complain?
Why is XDA the cry fest of mobile enthusiasts sites?
I'm sorry you didn't get free shipping, and in a rush to order you decided to remove accessories from your cart, but I don't think you got screwed and I don't think an entire XDA pitty party forum post is in order either.
Same problem here
I was looking to buy 2 phones, one 6bg and one 8gb
I got to the checkout, having put the bundles and the phones in my cart.. and the bundles were out of stock... so i went back and removed them.
When i came back my 8gb was out of stock...
I ended up getting 2 6bg phones, now they are plenty good enough, but ... it was frustrating for sure
I've order over 6 phones over the years from oneplus, my last order was yesterday. I forgot to add a case to my order, so an hour later I contacted them to see if they could help me with the shipping. They said they couldn't, I was a bit irritated considering that I have spend a couple thousand on phones and they wouldn't help me. It was my mistake though, still kinda sucked!

Yes, I actually did contact them via chat first (the day I purchased the phone). They told me that the promo on accessories only applies when you purchase a new phone and it didn't matter that I just purchased a new phone. And the only way to get free shipping is to spend at least $100.
Then I called them (yesterday). The first girl that answer "supposedly" couldn't hear me when she asked me my name and email. So she hung up on me. So I called back, the 2nd girl gave me the same generic answer as they did in chat.
I came on here to bring up this issue, because clearly Oneplus lied about being out of stock because they saw how much money they were loosing to people buying their phones at launch. How else do you explain them having accessories back in stock a day later?
XDA is a forum for mobile enthusiasts. If you can't voice your opinion about when a mobile company is jerking around consumers on here, where are you supposed to?
I ordered the phone at 12:01am on Tuesday morning, since they sold out of the early drop on launch day. I knew they were going to be having issues with stock when I woke up on Tuesday morning. I usually don't use a case as I've never dropped a phone, I usually put a DBrand skin on if it's slippery. With the way this thing charges, I only felt the need to buy the car charger after thinking about it. So thankfully I didn't run into any out of stock issues.
That being said, that was pretty ****ty of any company not working with someone when they were showing out of stock on accessories for launch day regardless if you bought many or nothing prior to this purchase. That's just bad business/customer service. I almost bought the 3T but waited for the 5 and so obviously this is my first phone with OnePlus. Though I was impressed that with their standard shipping I got it in 2 days from California to Philly.
