AT&T logo on bootup =\ - Vibrant General

Somehow I managed to get the AT&T logo to show right when you turn on the phone. It only stays on for a second and then goes to the normal vibrant boot image. I believe this happened when I accidentally installed my cogitative rom on the vibrant because I had it labeled incorrectly.
I reinstalled to the 2.2 that doesn't brick and then back to stock 2.1 and then to xipher's rom... still there. any help would be awesome since this isn't my phone and I would like to give my boss the chance to be able to return his phone to tmobile without having them see the at&t logo during bootup.

Which ROM did you install? The ROM should replace the bootup (no AT&T) logo. I am not familiar with zipher... does he develop for the Captivate (hence the at&t logo)?
Have you tried to flash the international galaxy bootup zip? It does not have the T-Mobile bootup, but it's not at&t either (just Vibrant > Galaxy S > boot).

like i said, i accidentally installed a rom for the captivate and thats why i have the stinking at&t logo on this phone lol
the rom replaced the at&t logo for the most part, but for the very first 2 seconds the phone comes up, you can clearly see the at&t logo.
where can i find this bootup zip?

nope still there. i swear... it only stays on for about 2 seconds and then shows the vibrant screen. wtf is going on!?

I have this same issue, check out http://ip208-100-42-21.static.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=795622 for a video. I imagine this is what yours is doing too. I have yet to find a fix for this either.

same thing man. wow... wtf! what did you do to get that to happen? flash a captivate rom?

Used ODIN for the captivate instead of the one for the vibrant the first time I used it. Whoops.
I have had this problem since the first week I got this phone :/
EDIT: On the plus side I have not seen any develpoment on changing the splash screen for the vibrant. Perhaps this could point someone with more know how than me in the right direction as to what is modified and possibly lead to a fix and/or custom splash screens!

man if you figure this out please let me know! i wonder if it had anything to do with boot.bin ?

lol i like this thread. hahaha

I think I may have bricked my phone..

I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone, but heres my story. I traded my bb 9800 torch with a friend of mines who went out of the country. When I got it, the phone was already rooted running an Ice glacier rom. I think this is where I made my mistake. I didn't know excactly how to remove roms, so I thought I could do it from the phone. So I booted into recovery mode, and clicked format, SYSTEM, DATA. Ever since then, it only boots to the Tmobile mytouch 4g logo and stays there. I tried to look up a fix, but my Windows XP PC wont recognize the phone, so I'm stuck there aswell. I'm stuck using a moto cliq atm, but if anyone can help, please do! Thanks, and Ihope its in the right section.

Pull the battery out of the phone, then put the battery back into the phone.
Turn the phone on and hold the volume down rocker, and the power button at the same time, that will boot you into HBoot.
Once you are there you will see an option for "recovery", select it. At the top you will see a number (given your buddy flashed a recovery image). If you see something to the degree of Clockwork Mod Recovery manger 2.x.x.x you can flash any 2.2 ROM from the development section. IF he flashed 3.0.0.5 you will need to flash Cyanogen Mod 7. IF he flashed 3.0.0.6 you can take your pick.
If you do not have a recovery image and only thing that comes up in a Tri-Angle with a "!" then you need to do the PD15IMG method. Which can be found here
Hope that helps point you in the right direction. Being that your phone is already Rooted please read, read, read, and read some more prior to doing anything that you are in question about. It's pretty hard to brick a phone.
And by the way... that little cliq not a bad phone... i just updated my old one to a new ROM.. for a standby... just in case type deal.
Your post helped thanks. I got a memory card reader and downloaded the stock rom to it.

Urgent Help Needed!

Problem
My Galaxy Tab Verizon model keeps getting stuck at the verizon boot animation and loops on and on without ever completely booting up.
Cause
Yesterday, i thought i might have a try at changing up the theme on my stock rom galaxy tab. I rooted the phone without any problems and followed the instructions to use metamorph to install the "red honeycomb" theme i found on this site. While applying the theme in metamorph, it got stuck while manipulating the 'framework-res.apk' file and rebooted my tab. After that it wouldnt completely boot. I didnt back up a single file. I have no experience in Android modifications. Please help me. Its a bit ironic that no longer than 10 minutes after voiding my warranty, my tab breaks.
See here for how to get it back to stock.

HTC Hero Sprint wont boot after sprint update

just bought this phone off of ebay and it worked great. I was using it with wifi and everything was good was gonna try to get it set up for boost mobile or something similar. there was a sprint update so I figured maybe it would make it run better so i said Yes to the update and it rebooted my phone and now it is stuck the the green HTC logo with the white background screen and wont load off of that. I tried doing a restore from the bootloader menu but its saying the update.zip is the wrong one. I tried installing the 2.1 update from sprints website . but that is telling me i have the wrong bootloader. So not sure what to do im stuck and just want the phone back to working. I had not rooted or done anything to the phone yet it was still setup for sprint. Thanks for the help!

Was the phone rooted when you installed the update? Look if you have clockworkmod installed on the phone...If the phone can go into bootloader, you can reflash software on it, try the RUU for it from the HTC website, not from sprint
Keep me posted how the problem evolves
Stefan
I have tried the RUU update from HTCs website and it says that I have the incorrect boot loader

If you have a device from Sprint then it's a CDMA model. So, wrong forum.
Not sure which forum it belongs in could someone please move this for me? Any ideas on what I can do? Data-loss is not a factor as I barely used the phone before the update

Samsung Focus not working :(

My Samsung Focus is stuck on a blinking Samsung Logo screen (black, with just Samsung writing). It has been stuck like this for the past twelve hours or so, and I have attempted to take the battery out for half an hour before replacing it, as well as a hard reset and simply restarting the phone. Nothing works, as it stays on the blinking Samsung Logo screen. The hard reset screen just flashes for a second before returning to the Samsung screen. Even after letting the battery die and then charging it, nothing has changed.
Do I need to replace the phone? Is there any software I could download to fix it? Is there ANYTHING I can do? I've had the phone for over a year, so the warranty has expired. Not to mention, it's even a replacement of a replacement, as my previous Samsung Focus had issues as well.
BTW, I do not have a memory card installed.

Did you have a custom ROM on it?
What you can try to do is flash the stock ROM from this thread (see exactly what revision is your Focus first, 1.3 or 1.4 !!! don't flash 1.3 ROM on 1.4 or the other way around).
After you identified the correct rom and revision, try to flash it using the instructions/steps here.

I have no idea what a custom ROM is. Or what it means to "flash the stock ROM." Or what flashing a phone even means :crying:

I see.
You need to reset your phone to the state it was when you bought it. To do that, you need to flash a ROM. That is like flashing BIOS on a computer (or similar to installing an Operating System, say, Windows). The flash contains the OS of the phone. You need to re-install it. The ROM (flash) you need you can find in the first thread I referred and the instructions on how to flash it in the second.
If you can't do it, find a friend who is knowledge enough to help you. Good luck, mate!
I am also facing the same problem. So I tried to flash it using Stock AT&T ROM. But it started to blinking on Samsung logo after that in a loop. Hence the step where it says 'Rebuidling' never completes.
What may be the reason?

[Q] Custom on boot, where is my SGS4 logo ? (and how to get it back)

Hi guys one quick question. When I originally Rooted my device instead of Galaxy S 4 white sign I had word custom and unlocked lock logo. Then I flashed CM10.1 and it went away I again had Galaxy S 4 white logo on boot (before CM10.1 circle) then I did few updated and flashed few roms no problem. Then I decided to go back and flashed my original OS from backup image I created with CWM and I got that "custom" sign back.
Here is the question, now no matter what I do all roms don't give me Samsung S 4 logo on boot, only custom. Does anyone know how to get rid of custom logo and put original Galaxy S 4 instead. And another question in general this logo ...it's flashed with kernel or this is part of the phone ,,,like before kernel or something cause I am sure it's not rom, it's gotta be ether kernel or something else that tells phone to show one image or another, so if possible let me know how to get white SGS4 original logo back if possible.
Thank you very much.
