Hi all! I just got a G2 and I'm coming from a blackberry 8900. My biggest issue is spell check. Does it exist on the phone? If so, how do I get it to work. I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, I just have no idea what I'm doing.
Thanks in advance!
spell check is almost non-existant (save for some minor things like changing im into I'm, etc). There's is a word prediction with some of the virtual keyboards that will extend to hard keyboard. HTC_IME is REALLY good. Try it out (look in the apps section of this thread)

So there's nothing that works like blackberry spellcheck? Hmm. That's is concerning. I'm going to look up HTC_IME right now! Thanks for your help and quick response!

I see why you need spellcheck. it is "That is" or "That's" not "That's is"

Lol, I just had to point out the irony in the situation XD Check out Better Keyboard. It's skinnable and has autocorrect for the hardware keyboard
I like to use swiftkey. You can get it in the market.
Thanks! I will check out both of them! I was just hoping there was a nice spell checker like in the bb that will ask you about the words that may be misspelled.

I can't remember -maybe EZDial- there is a keypad software that vibrate phone when you press any key.
Can someone develop this feature for HTC's keyboards and keypads. This feature not same hard key but feel the key if pressed or not pressed. And easy use without looking key. eg. SMS writing....
sorry for bad english.
I don't think that this has anything to do with ROM development. Mods please move this thread.

sorry but i think that will be a killer app for diamond and if cooks cook it in it is relevant for this rom developement thread ;-)
I agree too.
I had this feature on my last LG Viewty.
It's really usefull when u press the keypad per exemple.
Sur it's no good for the battery, but, as an external application that can be switched off/on when we want... hummm could be cool!
i had this on a viewty too, then i send back the viewty after 2 days for not syncing with like 10 different pcs, dont add this feature, or make it a option instead of a always-on-thing, because i really dont want to remember that viewty, seriouslly

Despite the anguish that this application would apparently cause to suicidal.banana (seriously, just don't install it!) I think this would be awesome too...and the same idea is floating around in two or three other threads as well.
I'm coming from p1i and having lost the feeling of pressing a real key is a mess.
I think a very small vibration when a character is pressed would be a great idea

Are you a mod? I personally don't mind suggestions in a thread. Helps me feel out the consensus of the thread.
I know someone made a program like this for the Kaiser, I don't know if it would work here though.
maybe this one should help.
it works even tough by now it introduces some small delay when scrolling the touchflo. it's worth a try anyway

What you guys want is called Haptic Feedback. Phone would vibrate when a button on the touch screen is pressed so that it feels like you're pressing a real button.. sort of.
I would like this too! haha. Even the Sony Ericsson G700 has this feature.

Sino8r,
Before you get condescending, you might want to step back and ask yourself if you even know what the OP was asking for. The "Super Bluetooth Hack" allows you to basically take control over someone elses phone and settings via bluetooth. Basically you can remote control another persons device.

Community enforcement of proper grammar and some sort of legibility in one's writing style is a good thing.
****ty posts are especially a big problem in this sub-forum....

Just because it can be read, doesn't mean it should be tolerated. If the original post read as if it were written by someone who wasn't used to speaking English, instead of someone that simply didn't take the time to write out a proper, punctuated sentence, then they wouldn't have been chided for it. I personally don't know of any languages that don't use common capitalization and punctuation rules... not that they don't exist, but chances are that's not the case here.

yeah, right, but this does not entitle you to be rude and disrespectful to people. writing "English. Learn it. Love it." is a moronic statement that aims to be both. Requesting more info or better explanations doesnt entitle people to traeat others with lack of respect.
Would it kill him to write "could you please rewrite your question as I cannot understand its meaning?".
Too difficult? no, just an ass.

My response...
You didn't take the time to add proper punctuation to your sentance. There should have been a period, not simply an emoticon, following the word "enough". As such, concider yourself officially chided!
Ok, now let's just program a widget that allows us all to hold hands and get along. lol

Hey guys, I was hoping to find a answer to this question, I have installed J2ME and Super Bluetooth Hack 1.07 on my phone, I'm running Haykuro's ADP1.5Hr3-A2SD, I downloaded the Super Bluetooth Hack file from http://www.getjar.com/products/13076/SuperBluetoothHack and I chose to download the Nokia N95. It seemed to work and what I mean by that is I didn't have another phone around to try to connect to but the program ran for about 6 times but now it wont load, I found Super Bluetooth Hack 1.08 at http://www.hack.pt.tp/ but that will not load at all. HELP

You need a comma, not a period: English; learn it, love it.
Always use flawless English in XDA posts.
my question is also related to this one which i have actually started a new thread on.... But my question is, could this be ported to android instead of just run under java? as it seems that a lot of people are either having issues getting the app running or just not getting the app to run at all.

You should proble learn to type first. Once you've completed that task, learn to read and post your topic in the correct section.

YOU should learn grammar first.
Its not "you should problem learn to type first"
Its "you should probably learn to type first"
FYI: Yes this is the incorrect forum for this topic.
well i m not gud at grammar LOL...but hey come on what do u expect from an 15 years old asian boy

I am well aware of proper grammatical structure, however this was (as I clearly stated) a flame towards the OP for posting in the incorrect forum in the first place. He then continued to misspell problem as "proble", which looking at it from first glance appears as "prob-lee", although YOU'RE RIGHT, it is not "probably". So thank you Captain Obvious, for ruining my perfectly good, and humorous joke. Thanks, and good day to you.

Depends on whether or not you'll use proper grammar with it, then we might suggest some, if not, just get a touch screen since what would be the need to have the keyboard for good typing with proper grammar?
mate i like keyboard based mobiles used blackberry 8800/8900/9000 i dont like on screen keyboards.right now using iPhone 3g and G1...and i mostly like G1 only use iPhone for gaming or calling
Please dont flame me this is a genuine question and seeing as there is no Q&A thread and this is about development then i believe it belongs here
Is there a way to have a mouse instead of just highlighting selectable objects when using the trackball ?
Thanks
A pointer you mean? Why would you need one?
I really have no idea.
yeah kinda like you would on a PC
because im the kind of guy who likes my phone to be perfect and look good and thats what i want and also you have to scroll pretty far on the trackball just to move down one so with a mouse you could do it alot eaiser
Thanks

Hey guys, simple question.
How the hell do I turn off the profanity filter? Sick of my colorful language being censored when I don't feel like typing. Searching on google hasn't yielded any good results.
Latest Lineage OS here.
Thanks
