I love this site but I would still like to expand the possibilities of my tynt. so im askin if anyone recommends other sites or forums for the tynt as far as software and or mods, things of that nature.

Would recommend dictionary.com for spelling, or if you really do want to expand your tint how about technosun.com
Or you could try Howards forum or even google to find others...

Obviously didn't try hofo, couldn't spell google AND had a sense of humour failure... maybe you can say thankyou to the thousands of others who responded to your request - then again, maybe you are an ungrateful twat who thinks others should do the searching for him...
As for being graded, EVERYONE here is ALWAYS being graded by their peers. If you'd done more than some cursory reading in your long membership you'd have realised that.

While ach2 response was funny, it was rude even by my standards, while members here know I am not always very nice to noobs either, I guess I am a hypocrite.
But to the question:
Try Howard Forums PDA section here, but they suck for the most part. The members there are MOSTLY complete noobs and it is hard to find anything worthwhile amongst the "how do I turn on my phone questions" over and over and over......and over......
I think ppcforums.com or something has some info, but xda is by far the standard to live by.....the developers are smart, and there is a wide variety of users here.
Disclaimer: I have no personal stake in XDA....It is just the best...nothing you can do about that.

It is a bit chaos in here. How can I find the most stable android rom for my hd2? And when will we be able to replace the wm with android totally?

Yes sometimes the chaos is many large! I think the best android rom is sometimes. But doesn't it always? I think the many is the problem not the always!!

Numerous apologies, English is my initial language so I don’t articulate it very well. In fact I can speak it enhanced but when I craft forum posts it all goes erroneous. Commonly my level of comprehensibility is proportional to the usefulness of the original post!

To be honest....not that much clearer then your first post. Grouping a few big words together usually makes people sound smart but when used wrong it has the opposite effect. Cheers for the effort though....

at least have respect for developers, for work done by them and as they lost time to make these builds you can even try them on each one at least for 2 3 days,then u will find it

[Q] Root Block: Intentional or Bug?

Cyanogen is saying its a bug. Tmo is saying its a feature. which one is correct?
If it is indeed a bug how would tmo go about fixing our phones? mass recall? sweep under the rug?
If its a feature, is it a precursor to what future phones will be?
Either outcome isnt very good for the consumer and may lead to lots of lost customers for tmo. Specially after tmo releasing a statement that its a feature of the phone.
I love this phone, the very first smartphone i ever had, and was really looking forward to hacking around with it but its hard to justify such a device that locks you out of such features. I hope cyanogen and all the other great devs work out a solution to this problem. I dont want to send it back.

I read all post lol, but I need to do this question, Im always an Iphone user (tmobile network) I bought this G2, I keep reading that cant be root for now, I change it today because got blackout twices....

People are being jerks for sure, but OP, you should search better cuz your question has been answered in several threads. The short of it is NO. It is not a bug in the sense you are thinking. It is an intentional bug which tricks linux (android os) into thinking writes to the system files during root are being made when in actuality, the writes are only being written to cache. Once the cache is cleared during reboot the root access is erased because it wasn't actually written to the system in the first place. It's not a bug that needs to be fixed. It's a bug that was placed there to fool the system and make permanent root more...challenging.

The important part of the question.. for me.. is whether the Z has the same bugFeature.
I see one random user saying that they flashed a G2 rom on a Desire Z and nothing more. Have I missed something? Kinda hard to say yay or nay based solely on that.

Thank you XfooYen for the info. I did a quick search before I posted(the posting page even searches similar post before you publish them) and found nothing similar. I will make sure to search more thoroughly next time.
I am familiar with the current situation with root, I just though that if a well known developer like cyanogen thinks that its a bug that maybe the readers of xda might want to discuss his possible ratonale for such a statement, then again that may not have been what he was trying to say and got it misrepresented by the media. Instead I saw nothing but irrelevent and pointless posts. For a second I thought this was gizmodo or engadget.
Thank you again. Its good to know that xda has readers who actually know what they are talking about and not just the average troll.

Agreed. This is XDA. In the years I've been here, there was never this much flaming and douchery as there has been lately.

Some people are tribal some dance to their own tune. Damian has ruffled many a feather here it seems but so be it he has pride in his work and seems to be a perfectionist, he has his tribe or rather had until the ext2 tribe disbanded along with z4mod and oclf... And the ext4 have theirs.
We all have our personality quirks and the devs often disagree which is expected and healthy.
I think the biggest weakness is pride which can prevent people admitting mistakes and learning from people who may actually know more. Since I am a layman I have no idea who is guilty of this not knowing technical coding talk.
I have seen some comments from Damian which sure seemed a bit rude, maybe a language barrier? Where are from Damian how well can you speak English? Btw... anyway I have grown to understand him an he has integrity and talent... and a Hot head LOL!
And I used ext2 with an old Damian kernel with no problems. Seemed ok to me, curious I even forced my phone to crash and pulled the battery with no problems. He still uses it and many using his new kernel too ...
My greatest respect for being the most diplomatic and humble of all the devs goes out to supercurio. A while back he found a serious bug in universal lag fix kernel, his direct competition, and didn't act smug about it or arrogant. In fact he wrote a kernel to fix the corrupted data this caused. And the ulfk guys promptly rectified it with a thanks. We all make mistakes. Considering his professional level of talent and amazing work he could be arrogant, plus he is French! (Joke).
C'mon I hate to see the stereotype childish, *****y geek coming out so much.
Now Damian, prove to us all you don't have to much pride or passive/aggressive problems with other devs and use some of the work from others in your great kernel that we all want. If you believe the code is sloppy or not up to your standard so be it. You are clearly not afraid to say so, so put it in a separate kernel version with a warning if you like and silence your critics.

I feel you sat on the thin line with this post. Example; a new user just happens to read this before the sticky in any forum/sub-forum, then this message would perhaps be more useful than any other instructions they might have read first - they would perhaps feel irritated by the (albeit jovial) condescending tone. I for one have read a few of your posts - so i am familiar with your charming and sarcastic personality!
On the other hand, they have read the rules already, and do search first etc etc etc..
In this instance, this thread becomes an ironic hypocrisy, where it appears that the "rules" that are often beaten about our newbie heads by mods/senior members - dont appear to apply to them....

It's true i am walking the fine line between insanity and enlightenment.
But i figured we could all read this.
Some will feel offended others will feel enlightened.
It's not what you are reading but how you interpret it.
I also just plainly had fun writing it.

I am aware of this and the problem is.. awareness.
I used this thread to rant.
The mods may delete it.
My point has been made.
PEOPLE please pay attention. << this was my point as very few seem to read the rules or follow the guidelines.
The point is pointless as many have been ignoring the rules.
I am not saying we should ignore noobs.. help them but also inform them.
One forum i was part of tried using a gestapo attitude to this issue.
It was a complete mess.
It was only due to my efforts and love for that forum that it started to shape up and become a true medium for communication and development.

This is why i make these comments, this is why i rant, this is why i expose myself to harassment and mental torture.. it's not just for me.. but for you.
I stand for all that is good!
My dark sense of humor serves that purpose.
But enough about me.. i am not what is important.
The x10 is and SE's delivery on the product is the true issue at hand.

Whenever i use the search tool and for example i search for launcherpro all i see is roms and stupid crap so i just dont use the search tool 95% the results are roms --
