Video Playback From Recordings Issue?

When I play a video recorded with the Vibrant it plays back with green and red interference like snow (white tv snow). I am not rooted. I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem/if there is a fix? If not I will be exchanging it after work today.
No problem here. Have you tried a different video

Yeah. It's only happening with videos I recorded from the Vibrant. The videos I have from my G1 don't do it and Avatar doesn't do it. I put a video up on youtube to show what it is I am talking about.

3gp compression

Have anybody figure out a hack to keep the EVO from double compressing recorded videos? Now since we have h.264 why is it still saving videos in 3gp? I once saw this hack in Droid incredible forum. Wondering if this been done on EVO?

Are you saying that H.264 has better quality than 720p?

He was talking about the compression of the videos, not the resolution..
Even with 720p, the way the Evo compresses the videos make them all look like crap
So the best way to record is still 720p? Video is not very good on this phone.
Yes I'm talking about double compression which make the video crap and sound crap. Instead of it just compressing it once its doing it twice meaning the quality of the video is lessen.it should give you the option to compress in 3gp along with the others. I know dumb phones can't play h.264 only 3gp. If you where to send video mms.

A fix would be great. I swapped from the iPhone4 to.my evo and the 4 kills video in every way.

Mp4 720p issue

I am trying to play this mp4 movie file but it plays fast forwarded. The movie is 720p aac audio and the quality looks amazing except it won't play properly... only until the last 10 seconds of the movie is when it slows down and plays properly... anyone experiencing this?

HD in youtube app?

There is only an option for choosing standard and high quality. I was wondering if it is possible to play videos in HD. I tried the full youtube site but at 720p flash playback stuttered in the browser.
unless you have 720p screen, it wont serve any purpose to watch 720p videos. you get best quality when the video pixels and screen pixels are 1:1, since vibrant is 800*480, i think watching 480p will give you the best results.
I don't think so but why would you want to play it at 720p? The size of the screen makes high quality look like 720p...
Most of youtube content is converted to h.264 for mobile device consumption. They've converted and downsized the vids twice. Sd and hq. No other option through the app.

YouTube Videos

Generally videos on the phone look amazing, but I'm wondering why youtube videos, specifically videos with lots of darks look super blotchy and pixelated. Case in point, the trailers on YouTube for GOT and Frozen 2 are almost unwatchable they're so bad. Is there a setting or something I'm missing? Anyone else seeing this?
I have data saver from att off and I'm watching on wifi with 100mbps.
Edit: Watched the GOT trailer from a different source and it was flawless. I guess it was just low quality source before.
I think it's the source of the video. I just wanted a 4k video on YouTube and it was awesome.

I was thinking that too. I also watched a 4k video on YouTube and was amazing. You would think the studios that release these trailers would put it the highest quality possible. Oh well.
