I am on Bell Mobility (Vibrant) here in Canada. I noticed Rogers will have the Galaxy S (Captivate) mid October and has officially stated “expect an update to OS 2.2 to be available early 2011.″ So anyone know if this would be Rogers dictating the release date or is it Samsung? Also, if Froyo is released early 2011 with Rogers' Captivate, would that most likely mean the same date for all Galaxy S devices in Canada?
While samsung release firmware,
carrier has to approve whether user can upgrade it or not.
Thus firmware can be out but if bell, your carrier, does not approve it,
You will never get official update.
This is particularly annoying because canada is usually slow.....
It appears KL1 may have come out of development and is being deployed to the masses?
(Updated With More Bug Fixes) Galaxy S II Software Update Begins Today, Wi-Fi Calling Included
Brief Note:
I know Galaxy S II users were a little jealous by Mondays news of the HTC Amaze 4G software update that included Wi-Fi calling. Well be jealous no more Galaxy S II owners as your very own update is on the way beginning today giving you the very same Wi-Fi calling option.
Galaxy S II devices will be upgraded to Android 2.3.5, software version T989VUVKL1 that includes the following enhancements:
•Caller ID enhancements
•Battery enhancements
•Wi-Fi calling enhancements
The upgrade will be sent Over-The-Air (FOTA) and will also be available via Kies Mini. This is great news for both HTC Amaze 4G and Galaxy S II owners as they finally have the awesome option for Wi-Fi calling.

is this build+changelog only for the TMO USA Galaxy S2 or for the international version, too?
Not the same as our KL1. That is a T-Mo US only firmware. Remember, that phone does not have Exynos.

this shouldn't be in this section. Mods should move it to the tmobile u.s forum

I would have to guess it's still the Snapdragon variant though.
"dual-core 1.5Ghz processor with 1GB of RAM"

I have a skyrocket and both variants are the same for ATT and Rogers...will this be the same for the GS3?
Yes the model is slated to be i747 on both rogers and at&t. In fact Bell and Telus will have the same model too. Now there may be small differences such as the boot up screen showing Rogers ( I remember this from my Captivate ) but the models to the best of my knowledge are going to be the same and the roms/firmwares interchangeable

Yeah the att and rogers versions of the Samsung Infuse 4G were the same and they pretty much shared the same forum....

samsung hk have not update the english yet
the main specification as below
1.4GHz quad-core processor
LTE (800/1800/2600MHz) + UMTS (850/900/2100MHz) + EDGE/GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz)
16GB (RAM: 2GB)
android jelly bean 4.1.1
Seem Euro will use this specification for LTE too
hong kong version are always as same as euro version
Is euro use LTE (800/1800/2600MHz) too?
the best version of the s3 IMHO
Hmm, I'm living in HK at the moment an this is quite tempting. Had a play with the Note 2 as well though... loved the s-pen.
Maybe I should wait for a high end version of the Note 2 with LTE. As long as it will be compatible with UK LTE bands when I'm back in London next year...
