Intel working with 10 vendors on Windows 8 tablets

Intel is working with 10 undisclosed Chinese and global vendors to design Windows 8 tablets using the company's chips, a senior company executive said Wednesday.
"You'll probably see many Intel-based tablets by the end of this year," Intel China chairman Sean Maloney said while speaking at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing.
Maloney made his comments as Intel has been working to expand its chip business into smartphones and tablets. The company's newest Atom processor, the Z2460 and also code-named "Medfield", is built for smartphones and tablets, and promises to give high computing performance while also offering long battery life.
The Medfield chip will be used in Chinese PC maker Lenovo's K800 handset, the first smartphone to use an Intel processor. The K800 will go on sale in China at the end of May, according to Lenovo vice president Wayne Chen.
Lenovo share of China's smartphone market last year was less than 5%, according to research firm Canalys. The K800 smartphone is positioned at the "high end", Maloney said.
Intel is also developing another mobile chip, code-named Clover Trail, which is designed for tablets and is scheduled to arrive this year. The chip features a 1.8 GHz processor, according to a slide shown during Maloney's speech.
Although Intel is best known as a PC chip producer, the company has big ambitions for the tablet and smartphone market, especially in China. "Our strategy in China now is to win with smartphones and tablets. We are making progress on it!" Maloney said during an online chat with Internet users earlier this week.
Chinese handset manufacturer ZTE also plans to launch a smartphone using Intel chips during the second half of this year, according to Maloney.
Intel is also developing two other Atom chips for smartphones. The Intel Atom Z2580 will offer twice the performance of the Medfield chip. The Atom Z2000 has a 1.0 GHz processor and is positioned for the lower end of the market.

Awesome!
This could get good. Please dont let it be a typo or mistake!
dont get your hopes up people, theres two big problems with the list (only included the list of tablets for this instance):
GALAXY Tab 7.0
GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus
GALAXY Tab 8.9
GALAXY Tab 10.1
1. no mention of the GALAXY S, basically a phone version of the tablet. my view is, if they were going to officially release ICS for our tabs, why would they not for the Galaxy S.
2. no mention of the GALAXY Tab 7.7 - yet every other tablet in the range is listed. (minus the GALAXY Tab 2 range, which come with ICS).
in my opinion, someone over at Samsung Canada is probably getting a butt whooping for that typo, because im 80% sure im right in saying its a typo. (though i do hope that i am wrong!)
stimpz0r iz right, Galaxy Tab 7.0 is not GT-P1000, only new models will get ICS.
The Galaxy S already received a value pack that the Galaxy Tab didn't get. So, even though it is a phone-size version of the Tab, Samsung already has a history of not treating the two devices as siblings when it comes to software releases.
I don't think it's relevant that Galaxy S didn't make it in the list. In other news, who cares anymore? CM9 and AOKP are way more than any TouchWiz release will ever be. So why bother?
@OP: this was already posted, btw. Do a search next time or visit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1628084
Peace,
C.
of course, it's not the P1000 Galaxy tab ...

Samsung S4 in Vanilla flavor????!?

Just read this article in CNN...
(CNN) -- A month after being released to mostly positive reviews, Samsung's flagship phone is getting some validation from Consumer Reports. The publication has run all its tests, kicked the phone's tires, and named the Android-powered Galaxy S4 its top rated smartphone.
The previous list-topper was the Optimus G, a solid $100 4.7-inch phone from LG that held Consumer Reports' No. 1 spot for several months. The Optimus G is now ranked as the No. 2 smartphone, followed by the HTC One, the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Apple iPhone 5.
Consumer reports bases its ratings on a number of extensive tests and rates the devices in categories including ease of use, display and voice quality, portability and battery life. The $200 Galaxy S4's weakest scores were in video quality and portability. Like all the other smartphones on the list, it also had mediocre scores for voice quality, a sacrifice that seems common in the smartphone market. The publication also lamented the lack of one-button phone access.
Consumer Reports specifically called out the S4's 5-inch, 1080p touch-screen, multitasking in split view, and a built-in IR feature as some of the handset's standout features. The abundance of features were seen as appealing to more advanced users without complicating the phone for more entry-level users. The publication said the device's camera was "among the best phone cameras for photo quality."
The Galaxy S4 is an update to Samsung's wildly popular S3 phone, which was one of the best selling smartphones of the past year. Samsung was the leader in the smartphone market in in the first quarter of 2013, according to research firm IDC, and it looks like its latest offering will help it hang on to that top spot for the time being.
Last week, Google announced a new version of the Galaxy S4 that will run a pure form of the company's Android mobile operating system. That unlocked and uncluttered phone will cost $649 when it becomes available at the end of June.

Google Releasing a Samsung Galaxy S4 with Stock Android OS
By Matthew O'Connell, Content WorksMay 16, 2013 10:28 AMprint
Exciting news for Android and Google lovers came out of the annual Google I/O developers conference yesterday. The keynote speech from CEO Larry Page, which lasted more than 3 hours, announced a new variant on the Samsung Galaxy S4. The new Google version of the popular smartphone will run on a stock Android operating system, a potentially appealing prospect for a lot of tech geeks.
The Samsung Galaxy series has built a huge following due to its impressive hardware. On the S4, a 1080p screen with 441 ppi, a 13 megapixel camera, and a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor are among its most impressive pieces of hardware.
The stock Android Jellybean 4.2 OS on the upcoming Google S4 eliminates the Nexus branding that other Galaxy devices have held and comes with a completely unlocked bootloader. The themes and skins that have identified Galaxy software will be replaced by a basic and direct Android interface, and it will have no preinstalled apps bogging it down. That will make for a cleaner and more customizable phone, ideal for developers who seek the capability to modify their devices (hence its announcement at the developers’ conference).
Perhaps because of Google’s backing or perhaps because of the lack of Nexus branding, the stripped-down, unlocked Google S4 will carry a lower price tag than other Galaxy iterations. When it hits the stores June 26, AT&T and T-Mobile members will be able to pick up this developer’s dream device for a relatively light $649.

Will an official S4 Vanilla ROM be coming soon???!? :fingers-crossed:

Does it exist a chinese version of Lg watch urbane 2nd edition?

As i wrote in the title i would know if exists a chinese watch not with the same design of lg watch urbane 2nd edition (design isn't important for me at the moment) but a chinese watch with the same features and functions of it.Thanks
The short answer is no. The long answer depends on what your objective is. The U2 is a high quality Android Wear watch created by a large consumer electronics company, with commensurate research & development, manufacturing expertise, economies of scale, and technical support. LG is based in South Korea. What are you looking for when you say "Chinese"? Do you mean has radio frequencies that work in China. Do you mean not limited by Android Wear specifications. Do you mean sell for a cheaper price.
There are several versions of the U2 with frequencies for various markets. Google just announced expanded standalone functionality for AW, so more watches will be released with U2 like capability. There are no Chinese watches that are as well executed and supported as those created by the large manufacturers. Most Chinese watches are attempting to put full smartphone capability into a < 5 cm form factor. They are cheap, low quality, poorly supported devices, geared towards people who are willing and able to deal with technical difficulties and poor quality control associated with being on the bleeding edge. The U2 is priced high because it cost more to produce a high quality product. You can't get a Ferrari for the price of a Fiat.
