Which custom rom works best with android 2.2 desire build??? - HD2 General

hey guys im posting this to ask you guys which custom rom i could flash to my htc tmobile hd2 leo to make it work with android 2.2 desire build...... im looking for a rom that can fix my radio so i can make phone calls.. and i rom that would decrease the amount of battery usage my android system wastes.... cause right now without a flash my android system itself is wasting a ****load of battery!!!! so if there is a rom that can do all of this... let me know please!!!

You have already posted this! AND we answered you! It is not your ROM that is causeing your battery to drain so quickly while using Android, its ANDROID that is doing it. Some builds of Android are not as good at battery management as others...you just gotta find one that works for you. Please don't post this question again. You are using the stock ROM, which doesn't really work with Android..your calls won't work using the stock ROM. You must flash a new ROM in order to use Android, or download one of the Desire HD flavors of Android...don't ask me which one because I don't remember, just use the search function or read the threads in the Android section.

so if i flash a custom rom that works it will fix the battery problem??? or just the calling???

Didn't we already tell you that haret kills windows mobile. I recomend you use the Chuckydroid windows mobile rom found in the android development section.
Your horrible battery life is not due to windows mobile. It's due to the android build, try using the nexus one 2.2.1 build.

HI guyz, most of the hd2 & tmous HD2(like me) users here used android on there phone n hav som issues like robotic voice or more.so on behalf of everyone i request the developers to make a cooked rom for our Tmous HD2 and HD2 in which there's no robotic voice problem and that rom is stable and fast for everyday use.more over i would like to request to make a cooked stock rom as some people's like the stock roms which dont hav robotic voice and other issue thus we can use both Android n WM whenever we want.ANd this way it would be helpful to them who are making the android ROMs.i would like to give thanks to the developers for Working hard for us.. we really appreciate that and we are very thankful to you for your works,,,

If you read at all, you can find that it could be a ROM or Radio issue causing Robotic voices.
Also, many android builds are almost perfect.
Do a bit more reading next time please...

[Q] android 2.2 system problems

hey guys i have an htc hd2 tmobile usa with the android 2.2 system and i have not flashed a custom rom on it yet.. right now my android system itself wastes a **** load of battery and there are other problems like the custom radio.... i cant make calls... i was wondering if i flash it using a custom rom will this fix my problems??? most importantly the battery problem... cause it wastes a **** load of battery just the system itself.. let me know quickly!!!
Yes, if you would read, you would know that most Android distros don't work with the stock ROM and radio. The only one that I have found that does is the Desire HD build, seems to work awesomely with the stock ROM. If you are hell bent on running Android, you need to flash to an Android compatible custom ROM, and apply HardSPL. The battery problem is a universal thing. It happens on nearly every distro of Android, so just try a bunch and see which one fits your needs.

The android builds are made to kill winmo when it runs. Ive read a post with tips one was to start android as soon as android boots up which did help me. Also i know the chuckydroid rom is really lite and boots fast. Ugly as hell but its not meant to look nice.

Best ROM to install on HD2

Hi
I will be getting an HTC HD2 in a few days and I am planning on loading the Android Froyo OS, and will be using it as my main system.
But looking through all those threads, I am stuck as to where to begin.
I need to find the latest and best NAND ROM for the HD2, since I intend to do all this hopefully just one time.
I would appreciate any guides that would get me rolling in the right direction.
thanks
Personal opinion
Hi,
I have tried many ROM till now, infact mostly all the ROMs. The best for my purpose ( since I am a heavy user ) is HyperDroidGingerbreadV1.2.
Benefits:-
1. Tweeked
2. Super Speed
3. Battery saver
4. Nice UI
5. Very responsive.
PS: Do give it a try.
I suggest you go to the forum and just read. You will find lots of tutorials on how to install and tweak the roms. You will find multiple roms and each has unique features. What I have done, and what I suggest for you, is just tried a bunch of different roms to see what works best for me. Try them all and see what you like the most. Part of the fun of having the HD2 is all the different things you can do with it.

I've tried almost every rom on the board .....so
Heres my top 3... Everything works low battery drain
1. JDMS based on the newest android ginger super fast with lots of options Tmobile ready link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=782301
2. MDJ Froyo revolution ... sense build need to put it in apn settings for internet

3. Motoman234 MyTouch3g Glacier build... very unique tmobile ready out of the box

This question/topic is frowned upon on XDA simply because its asked over and over again and there is no real answer as its subjective.
What is "best" for one person isnt always "best" for another and you may experience problems that another person didnt on his hardware.
There is no point in just asking what is the best one to install, The best thing you can do is to go read some guides etc, research as much info as you can and then try various roms until you find one that you like best or works best for YOU.
Do I need to still have windows on the phone to be able to install Android, or can it be done on its own?
Depends if you're installing a ROM or NAND.
ROMs install on your media card and require WinMo to boot the phone, NANDS replace WinMo.
Note that ROMs and NANDs are located in different sections of the forum.

???? ????
You can install SD builds or NAND builds. SD builds are just copied to your SD card and you boot them from within Windows, but NAND builds replace Windows. Both types of build are ROMs.
I would prefer the NAND ROMS. I really don't like windows at all.
Can't find the guide to help me do the NAND install.

Nay, dear sir. A ROM refers to software flashed to internal memory, whilst a build refers to software installed on an SD card.
Unfortunately a lot of people ignore or are not aware of this convention, but it's a pretty important one to prevent confusion.

Thanks for the correction, but actually ROM is the chip that the build is flashed onto (in the case of NAND). They're all builds, regardless of location
We could be stuck in an endless debate here, because these terms have different kinds of meanings. ROM is also often used as an abbreviation of ROM image, i.e. a image of the firmware on a read-only memory chip (ROM chip). This means that it would be valid to call NAND firmware ROM, and invalid to call SD firmware ROM since it's not meant for read-only memory.
While strictly speaking it is indeed correct to call NAND firmware a build, there has been made a convention (I suppose this is HD2 specific) to keep them seperated.

Casemandan, did I miss something? I have been browsing the JDMS thread for a few days, but don't see how it is "T-Mobile ready." In particular, I'm looking for MMS that comes in the same quality as the sense T-Mobile ready builds. Read a few tips but quality is still sacrificed upon receiving for all gingerbread ROMs I've tried.

Hello and thanks to all.
According to title of this thread , I need a NAND ROM which has a file manger and support Persian language.
Any suggestion ?
Best regards.
To my opinion is it to wait for a stabe gingerbread or (maybe) Honeycomb NAND rom, isnt it?
Thank mate...
i think best rom for hd2 is cyanogen mod7 v2.6 that is android 2.3.2
I like the MIUI build. It has a few hiccups, but great. Love this than the other builds.

[Q] HD2 Android Rom without sense UI please?

So I absolutely love my HD2 with android on it. So much better than windows! But sense keeps getting in the way of my apps (mostly Wiimote apps) and it is getting really annoying...Is there a way around that? Or more to the point, does anyone know of a good rom that is android without sense that I can run?
cm7 based builds give you a good performance. you can also try miui builds they are fast too.
HyperDroid.

What problem are you having? (former serial ROM flasher!!!!)
Are you using HD2 Toolkit, makes life a lot simpler for flashing ROMS etc
if you ask 10 people here what rom they like your bound to get 20 different responces. your best bet is to try each rom intill you find a rom you like and stick with it. i have 2 or 3 roms i like best and keep them on my sd so when i feel i need to change i just flash 1 real quick.
if you take a look at this web page there is a list of all the android roms listed here on XDA. its much easier to look through then the pages here & also it tells you if it has sence or not, when it was updated, if its a nand or sd version, when it was added as well as some other useful information. i would check it out and hopefully you can find a rom you like that works for you.
Go try to "TyphooN CyanogenMod 7".
I think you will like it if you don't like sense roms.
Which CM rom is the closest to normal CM7 without any themes or graphical changes? Would it be Tytung's NexusHD2?

You, sir, are an idiot. The title of your thread itself points out that there are already thousands of these threads asking for the best ROM, yet you decide against all common sense to create a new thread? Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.
I recommend either American Android or tytung GB rom for sd
I think magldr is good depends what u have on nand

always one arsehole.
and to walidhazem, thanks. the amount of roms available is shocking. and none of the other 'which rom' are about stock roms. going to be keeping winmo 6.5 as my nand rom.
This is a lot like asking whats your favorite food, your bound to get many different answers because what i/we like on our ROMs you may not. Every person has their own likes and dislikes about the ROMs they choose so without trying a few your only going by what someone else likes and not really what you may find that you like.
You could check out this site. It lists about every ROM (android) for our hd2 and gives some basic info you can use to help narrow down your search. I sometimes look at the developers signature or others i find give a lot of benifit to the site because i feel they would have a better knowledge on whats a good, stable ROM. Hope you find this helpful.
