how to downgrade to 1.5?

hi guys, I'm trying to a few days tohave root with my htc magic 32b,but iys impossible, I read and tried all the guides, without success...
my android its 1.6 donut, but Now I realize that it's easier to have root with Android 1.5...the problem its: how can I restore the firmware 1.5? and where can I find this firmware for Magic 32b?
please help me

Follow link and get the SAPPIMG.nbh. Put on sd hold down volume and power to power on. Hit the track ball , reboot.

i put the file .nbh in sdcard, i restart the phone with power and hold down volume, i accept the update with the sapping.nbh, when finish the updating, write "model ID incorrect" and "update fail", i reebot the phone, and its always donut 1.6..........grrrrr......
i prove one other time....same result-----model id incorect etc etc.....
other suggestions? thanks....

Don't spam for answers please.
An RUU is not avaliable for Vodafone Branded Magic's. All updates are from Google and then sent to vodafone to be delivered over the air (OTA), HTC plays no part in creating updates for these devices.
If your search around I'm sure you will be able find Android 1.6 for your Vodafone Magic.

cant flash a recovery
it's looks like that the phone is locked for flashing
and all the steps to flash with goldcard, its for me not to do,, my english is not soooooooooooooo good
i hope there is a program or a step by step to flash this phone's

i have the phone now for 2 weeks and searching for root stuff...
i was looking and looking and searching and i saw you can change your SPL
to a other one and the one that makes it a 32A phone and then you can change the with roms

yes i know,but before to flash spl or rom, you must unlock/ or have to root at your htc.....this is the problem....
its very difficult with the perfect spl and donut 1.6 on the htc magic...

iaio72 you must be trying to spoof everyone. I gave you details instructions on the board and in a PM on how to root, downgrade and even put an engineered spl on your phone, what is the deal here ?

timal thanks but the image.nbh that you link-me, when i fla**** on hboot, when finish the update write *main version is older!* i think that i nedeed a new version of sappimg.nbh, but where i find it?
i prove with a goldcard and a package posted to amonra, but no is good....i prove with "just one click" nothing....always the same problem,i think because ive donut on my htc....and we need the file sappimg.nbh new---

you just dont get it do you. quit posting garbage to the board - this thread needs to be locked MODS Please lock/trash this thread.
IAIO what you need to do is get the t-mobile Mytouch NBH and make a gold card - then you wont have the mainversion error - but dont ask how to make a gold card - SEARCH and READ and LEARN and quit spamming

Downgrade from spl 5.x

You can downgrade from 5.1 spl if you use goldcard meathod to flash an older rom. it will install the spl from the older rom.

I have an o2 uk phone with the 5.10 spl, would I be able to flash an older o2 rom with a lower spl just by entering the boot loader or would I need to use the setup in the above link?

As far as i know there is no other way to downgrade spl 5.1 other than the goldcard meathod .... My HD7 is also o2 uk and goldcard was the only way i could do it.

That's strange in some treads one says that it also will half brick your device when using goldcard method.

Oh does it? Ive just ordered an OTG Cable and a Y cable. Not sure if I should go ahead with it now.

Ive flashed my hd7 many times using goldcard method and has worked every time. I have also done my girlfriends Mozart which was on orange but now on EUR rom, again all went fine...
I'm no expert at this but i have never had a bad experience with goldcard yet.

I think what the guy above meant was that it will brick if I attempt to downgrade the 5.10 SPL using an older ROM, using the gold card method?

Did you downgrade 5.xx spl? or 4.xx. 4.xx I've done also many times but I am not so sure it will work on 5.xx.

I stupidly let zune update my phone and the last update was just described as a HTC update. The spl was 5.1 which i downgraded via goldcard meathod using the nbh file from an o2 nodo rom. Then installed rspl/hspl and flashed the DFT custom rom.

That's nice to hear, that means that in case of ... I could use goldcard to downgrade spl 5.xx.

I Downgraded the whole rom.... not sure what would happen if you tried the SPL only route?

How did you do that? If I extract the RUU I get RUU******.nbh and SPL*****.nbh

Is there any way to put the hd7 in a state that we can just put an older schuimg.nbh in the root of the sd card and just flash it using the phone's bootloader just like we already did using wm6.??
I believe that if this can be archived there is no need of goldcard if the Rom has the same cid like the device.

All i did was change the name of the "RUU_signed.nbh" (from extracted rom "RUU_Schubert_O2_UK_3.04.206.01_Radio_5.66.09.21a_22.48.50.21_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE") to SHUIMG.nbh and copy it to the root of the goldcard and put the HD7 in a state to flash it.
I'm guessing that the RRU_signed.nbh contains a copy of spl.
I think only the phones os has access to the sd card on a wp7 device??

Bootloader Unlock Support from HTC DEV

Hey-
HTCDev just released a bootloader unlock tool expansion to the wildfire. Hopefully this will help some with rooting etc., and can only be a good thing.
Only good things can come from this!

the ruu list is at the bottom of the page but my problem is im on virgin mobile and there not listed in he carriers ruu not even t mobile not uk carriers are there either

I'm wondering if it can also unlock HBOOT 1.01.0002? Anyone has tried? I really want to root my brothers phone. If only it's as easy unlocking like the Desire S.

If you don't want to risk anything with going the HTC way, check my guide, all the files are provided. The guide also tells people how to root with the new HBOOT.

I tried to follow the procedure skipping the preliminary step where they speak the RUU, but the command in step eight (flashboot oem ...) always error.

What do you mean? The file I downloaded? It's usaff27 tutorial and link is on his sig.

I think that the RUU in HCTdev page are only for CDMA version. We must wait for the gsm version.

guys, for the unlocked Wildfire and some other carriers like Vodafone UK is up now. The unlocked version I think is HTC WWE.

Unable to restore stock RUU

Hi I have a friend who has a T-Mobile UK Desire HD running custom ARHD with S-OFF and ENG HBOOT.
He's trying to restore to stock T-Mobile UK ROM (RUU_Ace_TMO_UK_1.75.110.2_R_Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF_release_163304_signed.exe) but it says phone not found.
EDIT: Rebooted the phone a few times, it now recognises it. However, it says it's the wrong RUU. I'm guessing it's because it's got SuperCID? Will the CID just need to be changed to the original and will it just work then?

any chance i could get the link for that RUU please mate?

Thank you very very very very very very very much aki0306. But may I please ask if it is for dual sim or single sim version ? I bought this phone from Dubai (so probably asian version) with dual sim capability and soft bricked it when trying to root it. The phone is only 3 days old and I bought it while I was holidaying in Dubai. Now I am in NZ and cant go back to ask for the repair and so dependent on the people like you who provide the RUU for that dual sim phone. Any help would be much appreciated.

I couldnt download it completely either. It has downloaded upto 0.98 MB and then showed up as a complete zip file but when trying to open or extract, it is throwing up an error

You probably can install sense 6 toolbox alone that is available from XDA where.

How about freezing or uninstalling the blinkfeed using Titanium backup and reinstalling sense 6? Not sure if it works but can give it a try! It would pay to nandroid backup, before you play with it.

Guys does any one knows if i unlock my BL itll remove some apps like flash light and calculatore etc...
Cuz when i had the htc one m7 and i unlocked its BL it removes some preinstalled apps
So im afraid if i unlock my BL some apps will be removed and there is no rom at this moment.

Hey aki0306, do you know what happen when you install it over the dual sim version ? Does everything fails or it will install properly but you can use only a single sim ? Did any of the users tried by any chance ?

mine is single sim taiwan version.
this RUU cant flash to my device.
RUU check to CID, MID, ROM version and HBOOT version.
if dont match cant flash.

Hi, Being new to HTC I'm not familiar using hboot. What are the steps to flash this RUU? Do i use abd? what are the commands? Since I rooted my phone I lost some apps and other install and don't show in app drawer I would like to return to stock. Mine should be Asian version w single sim. This is all I know about phone.
