No Signal D: - HD2 General

I was running my HD2 this morning on Android and it was working peferctly. now no signal appears wether its on windows or android.
can anyone help me please? my radio is 12.

Have you tried turning airplane mode on/off
or reapplying your network settings...........
i think they are under the winmo settings somewhere.....
settings tab.........menu.........all settings...........
connections........ etc..

I have tried them and no luck. I also tried to change the sim card to my old phone and they work I chnaged my radio 3 times and no luck.
I googled it and saw like mostly everyone is having problems and all they did is to return it from where they got it.
What I want is to fix it by myself because my phone i got was from my uncle and he bought that phone from an office mate that is brand new untouched.
How would I fix it without giving it to a company? My phone is factory unlocked.

If youve tried a new radio and it still doesnt work then I cant see any other way of fixing it.......
might be worth trying a completely new start....
task 29 and reflash of an official rom/radio in one go.........

Could you please tell me what is Task 29 and can you help me how?

Apparently, if you hard reset it still doesn't fix the reception problem. So after i do Task 29 would it be possible to do a complete wipe of the phone like it was never hacked before?
EDIT: BTW on your first post you told me to select the network... My phone can not even see a single network.

What I meant was to try and set up the connection as if youd just boted the phone for the first time but if youve done a hard reset and that hasnt fixed it then that wont work either........
gimme a few mins and Ill look up some task 29 links for you....
never used it myself though im afraid........

out of curiousity...... is your wifi/bluetooth still working??

Yes. and my current ROM is stock so is there a problem about that?

ok heres the link to the task29 thread.....
ive never used it so Im not sure on the fine details....
theres a video walkthrough so you cant really go wrong........
after that try flashing a stock rom/radio and see if that helps......
if not then I can only assume its a hardware problem........

The most easy's way is to get beck like your device was in the first time!
Preparing: Download the official Rom fore your device on the HTC website.
You will see it will be a .exe file.
Open the exe file with WinZip, and extract the RUU_signed.nbh file.
Now go here I know there is mention "he ones who know all risks of flashing roms" but if you follow the instructions it is the fastest, simply's and a all in one application.
This Video clip is clear

Thanks guys for helping me but has it been proven that it fixes this?
Are both programs the same? I'm confused, which one should I really run?

After this all setting you have now will be deleted and you restore the settings how it was made by the factory!
The one ore the other don't care wit hone you take, the result will be the same.
The one my friend conantroutman mention will do simply a task29 (Remove everything)
The one I mention will do Task29 + he will install your rom.

Ive never heard of this before..........
this isnt guaranteed to fix the problem but the reason I suggested it is because it is the most complete kind of formatting you can possibly do to your phone and should clear any errors/conflicts with software.....
if it doesnt then I think your looking at a hardware problem but the fact that your wifi/bluetooth still work suggests that its not the hardware...........

Thanks again, I know you never heard of the problem but heres a thread like mine but never solved
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=675827
you can also google htc hd2 no signal.

Give the Task29 a chance; running Android can changed sometimes needed values, files. To figure out witch one it is, is difficult.
With task29 all settings will be removed, and when you reinstall the official Stock Rom of your device it will be like you start your device fore the first time! so everything must work (normally, if it isn't a hardware problem)

Guys it doesnt work D: !! on the setup screen it found what provider my sim is but it still can't connect.
What do i do now? if it is an antenna, would they able to fix it and where? how can i use HTC's warranty.

It seams to be a hardware issue.
Did you install HSPL in the past?
If yes remove HSPL, if thy see this thy don't accept warranty!

Yeh, but I'm prepaid and i got my phone as a present. (factory unlock)

my HD2 has done pretty much the same thing after running android.
very poor signal, and constantly loosing signal in areas where it got full, and cant pick up 3g or hsdpa anymore, tryed flashing a different radio but no luck any fix yet?

Touch HD is ruined, please help NOW! IMPORTANT!

My phone works perfectly except I can't answer calls, when I press answer/ignore it freezes until it goes to voicemail and then comes back. I've flashed multiple roms and had the problem with all of them. I'm not using any special themes or anything, and the only software I ever install are HD Tweak and Finger Keyboard 2.1 and my radio 1.14.25.24. Here's a list of what I've done since I had the phone:
1. Bought phone. Flashed HSPL. Flashed Laurentius L26, no problems. Was being lazy so I didn't hard reset after flashing.
2. Flashed Dutty R14. Didn't hard reset after flashing. No problems for awhile and then the problem of not being able to answer calls appeared.
3. Flashed EnergyRom wm6.5 rom. Hard reset twice after. Still having problem where I can't answer calls.
4. Flashed Dutty 3.9XT wm6.1 rom. Hard reset twice after. Still having problem where I can't answer calls.
If anyone can help me figure out why my phone is doing this I'd really appreciate it, I'll even pay you some money on PayPal if you like because I really want to fix it. Here are some ideas I had as to why it's not working:
- Problem with rom flash. No, because I tried it with 3 different roms so far and had the same problem.
- Touch HD isn't fast enough to run wm6.5 and be stable. No, because I tried it with a wm6.1 rom too and had the same problem.
- Someone suggested it might be a problem with the battery. No, because I ordered new replacement batteries and tried them and had the same problem.
- Some of the settings in HD Tweak are incompatible with something in the roms I'm using. Maybe, is this possible? I don't really change much, just the softkeys and the highlight color and things like that.
- Screwed up something in the SPL or something because I didn't hard reset after flashing the first 2 roms. Maybe, is this possible?
- Dropped my phone and somehow managed to break nothing but the mechanism involved in answering calls. Maybe, is this possible?
Today I'm going to reflash HSPL, flash the stock HTC rom, hard reset twice, and see if I still have the problem. I don't know what else to do or what other possibilities there are. If anyone can shed some light on this issue, that would be great, because I really don't want to have to buy a new phone. Thanks
Did you try another SIM?

Hi rpimps,
I think that would be a good idea, flash back to stock, check for any differences, if everything works ok, then try flashing to a custom ROM again.
It might be an idea to try out a different radio version, for example, try 1.17 as this could improve certain built in feaures of your phone, especially since radio versions are known to work only in specific regions, it may work out better for you overall
Also, if not already cooked into the custom ROM of your choice, you should also install the RIL version that matches your radio version - 1.17 Radio supports RIL version 1.14 (1.14.25.24), which you can download the RIL via this link, at the bottom of post #1 - read this section as it also explains how to install the RIL.
I recently remember another member mention that their phone would sometimes hang when/after receiving a call, this was solved by installing the associated RIL - a layer in an operating system which provides an interface to the hardware's radio and modem.
Best regards.
Just to see if call mechansm works;
- try to record something (to check mic)
- try front speaker (i dont know how to do this)
- check if vibration works. (vibrate on connect may be on)
I guess your gsm radio works well since you can receive calls. Try to use windows original phone canvas instead of touchflo 3d. Dont know what to check more Its strange.

Here's what I did today:
1. Reflashed HSPL. Hard reset.
2. Couldn't find a working stock rom so I just reflashed Dutty 3.9XT. Hard reset.
3. Installed 1.17 radio and rilphone 1.14 like you recommended.
4. Didn't install anything else. Tested phone right after install and it's still having the problem.

I can call other people and it works fine. And actually about 10% of the time I CAN answer calls, and when it works it works perfectly. But 90% of the time it won't let me answer.
I might just have to put this phone on ebay and go back to my Diamond

that's a shame dude, not sure what else to suggest... it sounds like a hardware related issue as you have repeatedly tried flashing different firmware one on the phone... i suppose it's not under warranty?

Unfortunately, it breaks the warranty aggreement. So e-bay is a good idea, I guess.
P.S: I heard from someone that you can go back to stock rom then you can still use your guarantee. But I'm not sure if they can see that you reflashed it or not.

From what I have read, if you flash back to the exact stock ROM which was installed on your phone when you had received it, then this will not affect your warranty - if you decide to return your phone (assuming it is still under warranty) just make sure you downgrade to Stock ROM and Radio version, with no trace of HSPL or USPL also, or else you will have to pay them money if they (HTC) find out
EDIT: Please follow these steps to restore back to your stock ROM version:
1. First, be sure to restore your stock OS, and then the stock radio. The Stock SPL is always to be done last!
2. Download your choice of a stock spl package from the link shown below. (currently 1.13, 1.14, 1.15, 1.54)
3. Also download the original hardspl from the link shown below.
4. Run the hardspl exe but do not click anything in RUU yet. Just let the hardspl EXE extract the files for flashing.
5. The SPL you want to revert to is a .NBH file, put the stock SPL NBH in the extracted hardspl package, overwriting the original NBH file in it!
6. Continue with the RUU (or if needed, run SSPL-Manual.exe manually, then run RUU when it goes to tricolour 1.07.OliNex screen), it goes to 100%, reboots, done.
7. To verify, enter bootloader mode, see version number on tricolour screen, should now just say 1.14.0000 or any other version ending in .0000, but not ending in OliNex!
that's it.
Please refer to the following link for more information and the necessary files you will require to re-flash back to Stock (see and read the last section of post #1):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431217
Regards.
p.s. also remember to flash back to the original Radio version of the phone, if required.
There are several stock ROMs linked in the Blackstone Wiki, flash back to one of those and see if your problem is still there. If it is, send it back for a Warranty repair - as long as there is a stock SPL and ROM image on your phone, you Warranty will be intact.
what i dont see is mention of ho u are answeing the calls.
there or at least three ways
1. the on screen prompt. i assuming this is the one that freezes
2. the answe key at the bottom left of the phone
3. the htc headphones im assuming you have
have u tried using all three of these methods to answer calls??

T-Mobile HD2 with serious problems

Firstly sorry for the long post.
I'm having a few problems with my HD2, and I'm looking solutions that dont involve flashing the t-mobile ROM (which is 1.43.110.2). I have all the HTC patches installed.
The problems I'm having are ...
*Favourites are disappearing sporadically. I cant figure out whether they're going when I sync it up or just purely at random. They stay on the internet tab but disappear from the favourites menu. Folders are not affected.
*Music player: Lags. I have to wait about 2-3 minutes before a song starts playing on the first attempt, then its fine. This happens even if the little spinning circle hasn't appeared (this appears after you have updated the storage card by syncing with media player). Also when sliding album art back and forth in landscape mode, it freezes, and then jumps back to the beginning of the stack. Didn't used to do this.
*Music Sync - my biggest nightmare right now; I really need help on this one! Sync in windows 7 windows mobile device manager works fine. When I load up WM player and attempt to sync the storage card however, the device will sync for a couple of minutes, and then soft reset itself.
Hopefully when 6.5.3 comes out officially HTC will roll up all the crappy patches and T-mobile will approve it... but until then I'm stuck with these annoyances (in addition of course to crappy SMS, constant crashing, lags etc., which I certainly wasn't expecting when I got my shiny new HD2
I was in a similar boat to you. The Tmo ROM is really poor and I hate to tell you this but 1.48 or 1.61 are the answer.
If you really can't consider that option, I'd say that you should do a hard reset and see what issues you still have with a fresh ROM. The original T mo ROM is on here somewhere. download that as a backup before you do anything, just for safety.
realy sorry mate but he is right try and see if you can get hole of a free goldcard i run 1.48 insted of t-mob its not purfect but worls alot better
Thanks for your responses. I guess flashing is the only option, cos right now this phone really is virtually unusable. I'll have to try and get my head around the whole goldcards thing but if I get stuck I'll start a new thread...
Thx!

Hi mate, had the same issue. The gold card thing isn't too bad, theres a great idiots guide on here that I used, the hardest bit is getting the number off the MicroSD card, dont do what I did and lose all my data on it (as you edit some values which makes Windows no longer recognise it sometimes). Take a copy of whats on there just incase. Again there is a post that mentions a way of reversing the change so you have lost all your data on the memory card.
Good luck, I did without any probs to flash from 1.43 to 1.48 using the Goldcard method
I have the same problem with favourites and i'm on the 2.02 ROM. I never touch IE on my computer though so i've not put much thought into what happens with the sync. I'm just throwing together a wee app to sync it with Firefox though so that will solve my issues.
As for synching it with media player (and i'm old school - I drag and drop files), could there be any corrupt/unrecognisable data in your playlist? You could try a drag/drop dump of music onto your device and see if that works.

There is now HSPL and SSPL available so goldcard is no longer required, using SSPL or HSPL is much easier too
Hi, I converted my T-Mobile HD2 to 1.48 using SSPL. After a couple of teething troubles with Firewalls and a hanging Activsync - fixed with a PC restart it worked just great. It scared me twice when it hung in the boot loader but taking the battery out and restarting fixed it. I made a goldcard aswell just in case but do not really know if it would have worked.
Now its loaded The HD2 seems faster, has more programs and the battery seems to last longer particularly with WLAN.
I still have 1 open question though that I have, touch wood, not had to find the answer for yet. If I do a hard reset which ROM reboots, T-Mobile or the 1.48? Perhaps somebody here knows? I would be grateful to find out before I have to try it out.
Good luck and hopefully it works as well for you.

i believe if you hard reboot it will revert to the Tmobile rom.. as you used SSPL... only if you do a HSPL will it stay... correct me if i'm wrong guys

Incorrect...your Rom does not change regardless of flashing method SSPL or HDSPL. If using the SSPL method a hard reset will remove the SSPL only, and your SPL ONLY will revert back to original, Your latest Rom does not change....
Thanks for the quick responses guys but I am still a bit confused - sorry.
Perhaps in laymans terms -
If I have to hard reset, when the phone reboots will I get all of the T-mobile c**p again and have to go through the SSPL process again- which is not easy when on a business trip, or will I keep the HTC version.
If as I think I understood from band27 I get the HTC version back but lose the SSPL what effect will that have?
thanks again
No, When you hard reset you will get exactly the same ROM as you have before you hard reset. IT will be just like the first time the phone booted after you initially re-flashed it.
The only way to return it to T-Mobile's ROM is to find the download that 'football' posted a few weeks ago and flash it.
Plz let a noob continue this question
If i use SSPL to flash a cooked ROM and for some reason want to go back to a original ROM, how?
Is it correct that i only take my original ROM and flash it as usual, or do i need to do annything els?
Do i need a goldcard?
Plz help a noob

if you get it into bootloader is shuold say connected by USB in this case you can still flash the radio in the exact same way you flashed the rom.
in regards to warranty, flashing custom roms does void warranty but its not the be all of end all, you can flash back to stock but thats something you will need to read about as its quite a lengthy explenation.
which rom and which radio should i use now to get my phone working again
ok i understand ! thanks
im woking with xp, and i flashed my phone with a vista pc

yeah, by all means do a custom rom, they may seem quite daunting and we all make **** ups but once you've done it once or twice its a piece of cake.
check my sig, read through the help threads and you shuold be ok.
when installing a custom rom always check the Required HSPL and Radios, I have made that mistake before. Once you know what you are doing flashing is a breeze.
thanks for helping
now there is another problem!
i installed goatrip and everything worked as it should
then ....
after a freeze with the massage low battery my phone didnt react anymore so i took out battery.
but then ......... it is not reacting at all, it is switched of i cant turn it on
i hope that maybe the battery is broken
but warrenty is lost
somebody can help?
or should i just find a mobileshop who can tell me whats wrong with my hardware
I'm guessing you've tried that, but just in case (since your message doesn't say you did) : have you tried charging the phone for a while and turning it on again (even while connected to the charger)?
If you did try that, you might want to try with another battery, but it would be better if you had a friend with a HD2 to try with his battery before buying a new one.
If you still get nothing, then you'll probably have to send it for repairs..

Well I'm not sure you have another choice but send it to HTC unfortunately.
You just have to hope they can't turn it on either and send you a replacement under warranty, because if they turn it on and see you've installed HSPL and a custom ROM, you'll probably have to pay for the repairs.
has anybody experiance with that?
how hoch will they offer
but what i cant understand.... can a software damage the hardware of the hd2?

so i flashed my phone with the wrong radio i believe but the strange thing is that my computer recognizes it. the doesnt turn on at all but i here the sound of a device being plugged in when i plug it into winodws. is there a chance its not bricked?
the sound doesn't necessarily indicate much.

You may try and follow this solution, I suggested earlier. Click here
Let us know if it worked.
sorry i was vague, i was in a rush to get to work this morning and on top of it i was panicking. i flashed the stock image:
RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship
i tried that on a hd2 so i could flash hspl3 again and use wp7 on my hd2.
i ended up just sending it in, but if they send it back with no repairs ill try your method... i relly hope they just send me a new one though. i mean... i flashed a stock image to the hd2, so shouldnt they see no hspl and just the stock spl?
again, more details are needed.
like what type of hd2 do you have? if it is a us tmo brand, i believe it is bricked (as you flashed a .51 radio.)
if you flashed your stock rom from your sd card, hspl is removed. if you flashed over usb, and did not uninstall hspl, hspl is still there.
what i don't get is if you can flash a rom, why are you saying it is bricked? no offense, but each post seems to change the story (first it was a rom, the a radio, now you are flashing roms but sending the phone in, still don't know if you can get into booloader, but now you sent the phone in or is it in your possession???) and i am not following what you did, where you started or what is going on. maybe i am totally missing what you are saying (which is possible)...hope someone can help you.
i have the 1024 us tmous hd2. i tried to flash to a stock rom, forget i said radio. i tried to flash the .51 which i did not know would brick my phone, so i played dumb with htc and sent it in to get repaired. if they dont repair it i am kinda SOL because i flashed using usb and they will see it has HSPL. sorry, do i need to include anything else? i am just kinda a noob... sorry.
i swear i posted a response. hmm.
thank you for the details. your assessment of the situation is spot on; unfortunately your phone is indeed bricked. and likely htc will not know about hspl...or so i have heard from others.
curious, why did you send it to htc? did tmobile reject it? if not, and htc doesn't give you a new one, try getting it to tmobile (under warranty)- worked for me when the phone stopped working for unknown reason. good luck.
possible to make it back to work...?

[Q] hd2 mother board

guys,When i tried to boot another rom in my hd2 leo it doesn't start . if i'll buy another hd2 broken and will change motherboard will he work???
Change the motherboard seems like a drastic an final solution, obivously if you use a working motherboard it will work.
However, you're not saying what happened to the phone to prevent it from booting, before you even try to flash another rom or make important changes you should read the stickies of flashing and read more if you have any doubts, if you still have doubts you can always ask (in the right section) and most surely somebody will answer.
I don't know if you have considered or if you have already done all the possible things, depending on what exactly is you phone doing you could try to repair it, the bootloader is hardly completely damaged, there are (I'm sure even if I have my HD2 quite recently) several tests you can make in order to recover it, mtty, it could simply be stuck, you could try to flash it from SD, etc.
Perform a good an toughfull search in the forum, try to understand what you phone has and if you need it, ask for help, but be more specific or you could get no answer or even worst.
good luck
he doesn't start, only vibrator is working when i turn on him,I tried boot from sd from pc but in vain I think the only way is to buy another broken hd2 and change the mother board
try to turn it on presing the down vol buttom to enter in bootloader and flash it with a stock rom

If you cannot get into Bootloader mode, then you are ******.
I would assume that the HD2's battery has got a charge in it.
My guess is that you have a T-Mobile USA version of the HD2 and you have tried to flash it with ROM (normally a 1.66 Euro) containing a RADIO that corrupts the bootloader. This has been done so many times. The only options are:
Get it JTAGged
Replace the motherboard
replace the phone
If in warranty, tell HTC that it wouldn't switch on the next morning after you switched it off the previous night.
The last option is not nice; but the amount of folk complaining about the poor service from HTC Service, with genuine faults, then I'll not say anything.
