What is a 'parallax-sliding wallpaper' and what exactly does it do
If im not mistaken, its a wallpaper that spans across more than just one screen. Like the wallpaper that was on the streak when you got it.
Thanks, been messing with ADW and trying to sought out a wallpaper resolution that would fit both ADW and the standard launcher, heard that a 'parallax-sliding wallpaper' of 960 x 800 resolution might work and have to agree it does
Try launcher pro. Works much better with wallpapers. I download them with zedge and everything looks as it should.

Just got the 02 update for 2.2.
Hate all the streak widgets so thought i'll just close them all and put on the regular widgets....
Only to find that they auto align to centre of screen and when I change page half the widget sticks into the page.
WTF? How do I change this?
suggest getting a new launcher many of them available and are free.

true...i hate how the stock dell launcher looks...
hence been using ADW launcher...mainly because it allows you to lock the homescreen in portrait mode...
u have launcher pro as well....either ways u cant go wrong...
Since I've never heard of these launchers where can I get them from? What does it require? Root? Custom FW? etc,
nope... they are all available in the market
adw.launcher is free and probably the most common shell used.

Will using a cutom launcher on the Streak change the size of the icons, make them larger?

Also try looking at LauncherPro in the market. The paid version has some nice widgets and with it you can change the grid spacing on the homescreen if you want. I prefer LauncherPro.
Here is the link to get the APK:

You will need to clear the entire screen to ads the widget, then resize it. Go Launcher, Launcher Pro or ADW can accomplish this. Have fun!
Pretty cool app...Works perfectly Thanks!!

Thanks for the link. Works really good with ADW. And I am currently using Liberty ROM for BIG REDS X.
Otechmobile powered!
Thx!
Works great with Go Launcher EX
works with launcherpro plus as well...but it is small compared my beautiful widgets widget.
like the looks...just needs to be bigger
Hi guys, it seems that when I use ADW EX launcher, sometimes the wallpapers that fit PERFECTLY in the original launcher become stretched out widescreen style; and I end up having black bars at the top and bottom of the homescreen.
Meaning, when I use wallpaper wizaardrii in regular launcher to set a wallpaper, it looks beautiful and well scaled. However, if I switch launchers to ADW, the same wallpaper does not fit anymore; even if I use wallpaper wizardrii to set it.
I wonder why this happens?
And most importantly, what resolutioni wallpapers do you guys usually use?
I am looking at www.interfacelift.com; and they have a plethora of resolutions, I just need to find out which one I should be downloading.
thanks
It seem that this is an issue with ADW EX (lots of folks are having the same issue). Others, including myself have got around the problem by installing an app called MultiPicture Live Wallpaper. It allows you to set a differet background for each home screen and it's wallaper scaler works properly.... Nt a solution, but a work-around untl ADW EX is updated.

Could you please elaborate? What is the 'wallpaper hack'? And what does it do?

If you go into the ADW settings and check under general settings, it should be there. I don't understand what it really does but it makes the scrolling smoother.

Well the screen is 1280 pixels maximum
So to get a wallpaper that works in both orientations, it would need to be 1280x1280

No it wouldn't FFS! if you haven't tried it don't knock it
It's 1610 x 1280 and it works perfectly tried and tested
Multipicture wallpaper was what I've been looking for, but had no idea how to search for what I wanted in the market... THX!
I download wallpapers off of interfacelift.com, which resolution should I download them for, for this device? Every wallpaper I set is blurry (aside from LWP's and stock wallpapers). Camera pics and other ones are blurry.
I've been using 1280x800 wallpapers but I still get zoomed in poorly cropped wallpapers unless I use the stock ones. You could try any HD picture and use an app like wallpaper wizardrii to scale it nicely

I tried that one but even with a single wallpaper and no transition, my tablet lags. I don't get lag with a standard wallpaper though. Maybe I'll need to re-try and play with settings

Hmmm which ROM are you using?
Set to "no transitions" here, and not experiencing any "lag", however it does take a second or two to initially set the wallpaper on boot up.

I don't know if it's just me, but every time I try wallpaper wizardii, at first, it fits nicely, and there is no problem, but after a few hours, the tablet becomes laggy. Especially the home screen transition is very laggy. Same goes for Multi live wallpaper. Although this one is laggy from the start.
I just couldn't believe the high rating of the apps. And I'm guessing it's only me who's having the problems..

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but here's the solution...
Download Wallpaper Changer by j4velin. Download whatever wallpapers off of interfacelift (I use 1680x1050, but other resolutions should work), put them onto the SD card. Add the wallpapers to the rotation. There ya go. Note that this app has a "Change wallpaper" widget. Add that to your desktop for quick wallpaper changes.
fwiw the default Res on the stock wallpaper "default_wallpaper.jpg" is 1920 x 1408
Crazy but true.
Are you guys using the stock launcher or nova/apex? I've stuck with stock so far cause the performance is great but I was thinking about installing Nova for the extra features and what not. How is the performance on Nova/apex for those that are using them?
I use Apex and it works nicely

Sweet. Just as smooth as stock?
I'm a huge fan of Nova on my Nexus 7 but don't find that it looks particularly good on the 10. The issue is the the smallest dock height is way too tall so the icons get scaled up and do the look sharp. Once I figure out how to solve that I'll go back to the Nova.

Easiest way to solve this is to turn the dock off, and just line up your icons ...

I only use a single home page, so I wouldn't know
Using Apex. Got rid of all widgets on both launchers and they're evenly smooth. Apex's transition speed is a lot faster, so it may look like it's getting "caught" and then moving quickly. I slowed down the transitions, and they look more or less the same now.
I want 3 home screens and use a few widgets so not good for me, which is annoying as you can't lower the number of stock home screens.
Thought I'd tried adw already, have full version of that too. Was sure it was worse than apex/nova but I shall give it a try later.
Used to use it on my s3 until jelly bean. Not sure if it's the jelly bean optimisation or what? but to me nothing runs as smooth as stock since jb on both my devices, even TW!
