Battery indicator pro also gives you that chance. It works most of the times.
PS. @spacegravity4me: You should have made a search before posting, dude, there´s a lot of threads about this.

Don't know what you're complaining about, for the past 2 days my lock screen has mysteriously vanished. Which means I can't put the phone in my pocket. Annoying, really.
I would do a factory reset but then I've got to do one for the 2.1 update anyway so I'm just going to wait it out
Lol..my lock screen turn out the reverse way,to the left now??

I'll say that the lock screen on the Xperia X10 is pretty terrible. It has caused me to miss calls because I couldn't manage to move the slider all the way. I'm not sure why it couldn't handle that, but it's quite annoying.

I get that too, but yeah, it's definitely an X10 problem, and not a 1.6 thing. Thankfully, SE is taking the update opportunity to change it, so hopefully it will be more responsive.

The only thing that annoys me about this phone so far is that the screen lock kicks in after about 30 seconds. I'm fine with the screen SHUTTING OFF after 30 seconds (which i set it to) but u cant change when the screen locks, IE windows mobile... hope someone patches this soon...
Custom Screen Lock
I was hoping we will be able to change various settings of the lock screen. Like just changing the background. Maybe even add widgets to the lock screen. I think that would be pretty cool. Plain black background is boring compared to the rest of the phone.
why is this even an issue? seriously all u have to do is press menu twice and ur in. its not like winmo that had u doing tricks to unlock. /end rant

I see no issue with the way it locks or how it works. Just how it looks. All I see is a boring black background (iPhone?) shouting out my carriers name (as if I don't know my carrier), and current time. BORING

Thats my vote... treat it like it's Linux (oh wait it is.... kinda) and make it do what you want it to. Then share it with the rest of us so we can all benefit/improve what you do.
You could make the screen lock come in after 10 minutes of no use if u want, just go to settings and change it, and I kinda like the screen lock pattern for now but I know i'll get tired of it soon
Hey guys,
Just curious what your thoughts were on changing the ROM from the original one on the phone to Epic, (whatever the newest one is I think it's 2.5 somebody correct me if it isn't). So I guess if you've done this what are the most noticable changes and is it worth the time it takes to do this.
-Jim
I'm really enjoying the epic 2.5 rom. I liked the phone stock but I found it to hang up quite a bit, blur seemed a little power hungry, and there were some apps installed that I did NOT want that constantly bugged me (city ID!). I switched to epic and my phone seems much much more responsive and my batter life seems mildly improved, by about roughly 10%. I'll more than likely continue to use epic until the bootloader gets cracked and we get something like cyanogen on the D2
I also use epic 2.5 and it sometimes randomly reboots, but otherwise its amazing. Battery life is great!
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
what's your battery life like? because that's my main problem with my d2 since i text quite frequently and that seems to drain the battery like no other.
so you guys say go for it? also how do you back your contacts up when you change the roms?

If you are looking for a rom with little to no Blur left, try installing Motoboy's R2D2 SuperClean. It doesn't have all the Star Wars stuff and you are left with a solid system. I experienced a few bugs that were show stoppers on Epic 2.5. Those being the slide to unlock reboots, and the calendar not allowing me to add events. Matt has posted a fix for the calendar, but as of yet nothing stops the unlock reboots. Personally I find both of the roms to be better than what was shipped with the device. Ultimately which rom to flash should be your decision not someone else's.
Link?

Read the instructions carefully, then read them again. This is a slightly tougher install than Epic.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=796908
Well I'm a new Droid 2 user. I had the original D1 and just got the D2 about a week ago. Epic was the first rom I downloaded and I like it a lot it reminds me of my D1 roms I had installed. It's pretty fast and hardly lags. I had a few problems at first. My phone rebooted randomly about twice and I'm not sure if this was a problem for everyone or if I just had a corrupt file installed, but whenever I would use titanium backup my messaging app stopped working. It really pissed me off because my messages still worked, but I couldn't see them. It kept force closing, but eventually it started to work. I'm enjoying this rom so far.
EDIT: I'm having the lock reboot problem now, it has happened maybe four or 5 times and it has been getting annoying lol. I haven't really looked for a fix, but I will be soon.
The lock screen reboots are a known bug in Epic 2.5 but I'm back with epic after tweaking R2D2 too much and I haven't had a problem after installing lock screen on/off widget and setting it off.

Slide to unlock from screen off. If lockscreen is disabled it doesn't do the reboots.

Yeah I've heard that people without a slide-to-unlock feature are fine, but people like me that HAVE to have a lockscreen, are expeirencing problems. It has happened to me a couple times already
@Herromoto
Maybe you could disable the slide lock screen and put a pattern lock on. I don't know if the widget will disable the pattern or the pattern will make a reboot but it's worth a shot.

Yep, I was watching video when it asked me to update. Took around 10 minutes and kept all the data so everything functioned just like before. Except it looked better and the speed is amazing. Only down side that there is no face lock which I m hoping they will come up with an update!

Face unlock is a gimmick anyways..I have it on my phone, you usually end up having to type in your pin or pattern anyways, it is a negligible feature.
I should have factory reset before updating, that first reboot regenerating everything loaded (I guess) is taking a LONG time.

Wrong. I have it on my Galaxy Nexus and in 4.0.3 there's an option to improve face unlock. Just scan your face in different light, with/without glasses (if you have to wear) and in different angles (holding the phone in eye height, looking down on phone and so on) and face unlock works nearly everywhere except in total darkness. I took the time once and scanned about 30-40 situations, now face unlock works flawless.
I got it too, east coast DC area
How big?
Hi,
Can someone tell me what size it is? Want to see whether it is worth downloading or waiting till tonight?

I know this, but I have tried this, it still gives me 'no face found' or 'unable to recognize' failures often. Not to mention that it's just a major PITA to hold any device in a single position for it to recognize you (very unsafe while driving), and it takes a full 2-3 seconds longer to unlock than simply swiping in your pattern, which is the fallback if it doesn't recognize you anyway. I have not found a good use for it yet (presumably, wouldn't a photo of you work anyway? And isn't it easier for a criminal to get a picture of your face than to guess your pattern?)
Just saying, impractical gimmick. Fun to play with, but for anyone who uses their device often, they will get tired of looking at themselves while the device tries to recognize them..IMHO, FWIW
Is this true
Am I understood right that you have got factory update for stock ROM?

You can go back to stock You aren't stuck there lol just see the link in my sig (from the sounds of it though, you are still pretty green, and need to do A LOT of reading IMO before trying to do too much at once, you also need to determine if you are SBK1 or SBK2, my guide will help you determine this.)
Not a huge difference visually but huge performance boost!

This is very annoying.
When I wake up my phone, and the lock screen appears, the clock is not updated for 1-2 seconds.
It is very odd.
Very often, I just quickly unlock the phone to check the time and see the time of the the last time I woke it up, for 1-2 seconds, before the clock updates to the current time.
Is this happening to anyone else?
I can not believe an error like this got past the testers...
BTW: I already applied the OTA update.
Thanks,

So uh...delay in what kind of update?? Heh..
And I've had issues with widgets not updating properly. If I use a Extended Controls widget and tap the WiFi icon, the WiFi will turn off or on, but the widget will not update it's visual appearance to show that the WiFi is on or off. The clock has not changed time a couple times as well. The Flipbook widget freezes sometimes and some other widgets just don't even work at all. I don't know what to make of it. And I haven't updated yet.

btw my is really slow right ?
i found one funny issue with my pie control, if i open pie control in any screen other than home screen, it work perfectly but in home screen it take few second to load, any one have idea what it cause ?
I am actually taking back my recommendation on this app...
more than once I have had it kind of "take over" my screen.
What I mean is, any touch on my screen is attempting to touch something in PIE control (and not actually graphically showing PIE control, btw).
you effectively can't do anything at that point.
Its been a few days since I stopped using it, but I really did pretty exhaustively try to figure out how to stop this.
I really liked this app's "swipe" method instead of pulling the PIE out and having to like hold on a button for a quick sec, this app lets you do it in a smooth swiping motion.
Anyways, ive given up and gone back to onscreen navigation keys.
Every method I have tried (including XDA's navigation) has had some small hangups that eventually have problems working.
And no I haven't reported errors and such in respective threads, I just give up because my "lots of effort into having a hacky phone" days are behind me
