Hi folks.
I would like to know from you developers if it can be possible to port the Locations feature (free offline navigation) from Desire HD and Desire Z to the Legend or any of the "older" devices.
Sorry if you consider this a stupid question but I couldn't find it answered elsewhere although it must be one (if not THE) most useful application on those devices.
I've seen it working and its pretty much seamless considering the present options.
Thanks!

But when I contacted htc. They said to me it supports more than 2 points may be it is kernel limitation ,as the source of these drivers is from devices with only 2 points of contact (nexus and desire ) ,but at least we have better screen than HTC Android devices

Hello all. Had an iPhone then a windows phone 7 device until about a week ago. Bought an Orange san Francisco, cracking little phone. I had rooted it and was running a custom firmware. I like Android so much I bought a desire he yesterday, it rocks. The question I ask, is on the san Francisco, if I search for say "youtube downloaded" in market place I get a lot more results that if I do the same search on my desire hd. I'm using the newest market place app on both and both are on the same WiFi network. Any ideas? Sorry if this has been asked previously, but I can't figure out how to search in the xda app, please don't flame me for my ignorance.

Could only guess due to different versions of android. if you are sure that you are using the same Search string in Market then am puzzled too.
I have 2.2 on my desire, but used both a leaked custom 2.2 curtosey of modaco, and a standard 2.1 on the Dan Francisco. Is there an alternative web place I can get the free android apps from. Note, in not requesting free apps, just an alternative place I can search for the free apps.

The fast boot option hides some apps in market. Try unchecking that.
It is in Settings -> Applications

You can try Appbrain, and in DHD try HTC Likes - it inturn searches market but they are very usefull in app discovery.

The fast boot settings says, u need to disable this for some market apps to work. NOt sure whether will it hide anything from showing to the user...
If you have rooted your Desire HD take a look for Market Enabler on the market.
I was wondering if HTCSense.com would work on MCCM's Desire HD or S builds like it was that phone.
That is the major sticking point for me because I want to get that Desire HD or S Functionality with my HD2
Thank you for the responses.
yea... as long as the rom has "htc hub" you should be able to sign in/sign up aftet its setup you can logon to htcsense.com and it will show up as whatever phone model the rom is based off of... It does takes a couple hours for everything to be available like skins, ringtones, but the htcsense.com features work right away

Hi guys,
I've got a little problem here. After updating my DHD to 2.3 I have lost the HTC search app and widget which I prefer over Google (its much more customizable). If anyone has to .apk file i would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

I bought my desire hd the 5th of may and the same day received the gingerbread OTA update, then I saw on the htc site the description of the search feature, but if I press the search button from the home it always start google search.
It would be nice if someone knows how to restore the default htc search feature.
Unless htc decided to replace it with google search by purpose...
I preferred the HTC search anywhere app as it is much more customizable than the Google search bar. But I've been looking around for ages mate with no luck.
If you find anything give me a shout.

Ive noticed that olny after reading this... If someone coud give a solution that would be nice ..
I know that if you have updated your DHD you should be running Sense UI 2.1+, which means if anyone could get hold of the apk file it would install fine and work.
Just haven't been able to find the file anywhere.

If I start typing in the search box in 2.3, it actually finds stuff from the phone as well, e.g. contacts, music without using Google. From what I recall, it's exactly the same in the Search anywhere app, minus the Google search option.
The search anywhere app allowed us to choose and arrange your searched items as you like. I also find that Google search doesn't search my contacts for some reasons. :S

Current SearchAnywhere sources not compatible with a new Htc Sense 3.x.
This project not even supported for the moment.

First of all, this is Windows, not Windows Phone. But since we're on the topic, there is an app called Instapic for Windows 8 that is a full-featured Instagram client and works great on my computers (including Surface) As for Windows Phone: I have WP7, and the best I've found is #2instawithmassivelove (gotta love the name). This works, but it's pretty buggy and slow on my phone. However, there is now a quasi-official app for WP8 called Hipstamatic Oggl (again with the names) I'm upgrading soon, but I haven't had the chance to try this yet. There are also a few other apps that are supposed to do the same thing, but most of them are for WP8, so I haven't had the chance to try them yet. Personally, I'm just glad I can use Instagram now, however buggy it may be.

This is the Windows 8 forum thus, this should be posted on the WP forum. To answer your question, no.
