hello ALll,
I have 2 micro sd cards.
1) 8 GB
2) 32 GB
my 8 GB works perfectly. I have co pilot and sygic sat nav and when ever i put them on 8 gb i can install and run them.
also if i copy songs from my computer on 8GB I can see them on my card and listen to them
But,
with 32 GB,
when ever i tried to run installation file of co pilot or Sygic, it gave me error of " cannot be opened because the file cannot be parsed"?
what is wrong i cannot understand. Is 32 GB is too much for wildfire to handle or what??
please help!

Did you format it?
Is it one of those crap cheap ones from Chinafake?
yeah i formatted it.
no its not those cheap ones from china for sure
i used navigon insallation and it installs perfectly alright
but co pilot and sygic are not..which is confusing..and also cant see any music.
HTC says you can use SD cards till 32Gb...... http://www.htc.com/nl/product/wildfire/specification.html
Does the 32Gb card work with PC and card reader? Sometimes with me it is not visible and when use another port or card reader it is solved.....no idea why this is.....

I think I have cracked it.
I formatted my card again but with the highest allocation size .. about 42800 something.
Now I installed again my Wild puzzle ROM and then just for change i just installed Sygic Satnave and one song in music folder.
The sygic installation went ahead easily and i can see the song also
PS: I didnt transfer my data through card reader or anything. Keep ur fone connected with usb..then go to recovery mode and go to partition menu..from there mount the usb..and then copy paste the stuff.
I hope it helps .

This really sounds like a corrupt SD card.
It happens often with lower quality/cheap sd cards.
Most of the times, these problems are caused by a corrupted SD card as Skye Menjou said.
32gb Micro SD
Me too I am getting hard time to bring back my 32SD card. The partition is totally corrupt. So if theres any way to re-format to bring back the 32gb size. Thanks
I was having the same problem. My 32gb card came from what I assumed was a safe source with all original packaging and labeling. I tried everything to verify and reformat. Only today, when I tested the card with h2testw did I discover that the real capacity of the card was only 2gb. Thus the problems with my data apparently being fine at one point and then "corrupted". As long as my total data usage was below 2gb I was fine, but when I exceeded it, then the limitation of the card kicked in. I don't know if this will solve your problem, but I'd be curious to find out what you find when you test your card.

People have been replacing their microSD cards not knowing that the problem is actually in the files and folders..
Ok here it is!
When i scroll through the hTC Sense tabs to music or photos, the applications try to load the thumbs from the Phone/microSD, that's when it suddenly freezes then the microSD vanishes..
I inserted the microSD into my PC and browsed the drive in "Thumbnail view" and guess what happened, it froze.. I figured since the idea was the same in hTC Sense when it tries to load any thumbs..
So i went to the microSD drive again and chose "detailed view" then went into each folder and changed to "thumbnail view" until i found two folders that kept freezing; "Program Files" and "My Music"..
In Program files the only folder that couldn't be deleted definitely had files that were behind the issue.. There was a music album too that froze, i deleted that too...
I backed up my files and formatted the microSD, i had to, because the folders behind the microSD disappearance cannot be deleted even with an "Unlocker"..
So far i'm playing around with my Leo and nothing is happening..
So by viewing the folders on the PC using Thumbnail view, you'll be able to identify the file or folder behind this annoying issue..
I had the same issue
I have (had) Sandisk microSD 16GB card. It was last week that it happened to me. Only backup of good files and re-formatting the card helped.
Today, I was copying 700MB file and suddenly it told me - cant write on a disk. I disconnected cable from the PC, rebooted Leo and SD card was no more present.
I put it into a card reader, tried to format it, but nothing is working. SD card is probably faulty.
So be aware, that that problem might be a first sign before your SD will break.
I think the fault is from some files somewhere in the microSD.. After going through the method i mentioned earlier, up until now my card is fine..

yup right, but be aware. I dont think that normal SD card should perform like that. I am using stock 2GB SD now, and it is ok!

My 16GB microSD is Sandisk and its 100% compatible with this device.. The Leo is doing something when loading the files creating some system files i suppose..

guess what? windows could not load sandisk microSD 16GB and I was already preparing to return it to e-shop, but I tried live cd of ubuntu 9.10.
It can read the card, it formatted it and it is working again! :-D

That's great, so you didn't have to replace it?
But strange, i've always been using the 16GB with my HD and now HD2.. The issue just occurred a week ago..
A day has passed and everything seems fine..
I hope it stays that way..
ok
I got exactly the same problem with my 16G Sandiskin and HD
and found that the problem was a damaged file in my SD
connect your SD to your computer throw card reader, using total commander or whatever, begin coping all SD files and directory to your hard disk, until get a message can't copy "file name", this will be the damage file, unmount the SD and mount it again and delete this file and your SD will be ok
ps: may be you have more than one damage file, try the this method until you can copy all SD files to your hard drive
When you have a write or read problem with a particular file, it usually points to more than just a corrupt file. In my experience with 4 16GB Sandisk microSD, it is the beginning of a failing card. The safest bet is to copy out the good files, reformat in your HD2 and copy the files back. But if it happens too often, it may be time to invest in a new card as your data is of primary concern.
The strange thing is that this usually occurs with the bigger cards, 8GB and 16GB. I never had this issue in the past with smaller cards.
I back up my card weekly or when I have updated large number of files just to be sure I have a valid set in my PC in case the card fails.

I know what you are talking about. Low format may help. I had the same issue with 2GB SD card 3 years ago (had to recover SD card to save few photos) and also on my DLSR with 4GB CF Card (linux helped to read the card). I donĀ“t think it can be damaged so quickly as normal PC HDD, but when it happens often (damaged files on card), it may be a sign of something wrong with the card.
Unfortunately it happened again.. After a month of having everything under control i got the same problem.. The great news is I'm using windows 7 on my PC and when i plug my microSD card via usb reader, i get a choice of scanning and fixing the removable disk...
Now i'm happy without those annoying corrupted files..
After trying a Sandisk Class 6 Micro SD card in my Focus and having it fail after the first reset I decided to look for some software to fix the card and use it in my laptop. I did a Google for partition software and found "EASEUS" and they offer their 'Partition Master Home Addition" Free to home users. I downloaded it to try and I was absoloutely amazed. This is the best software I have ever saw for working with Windows partitions and it supports all known types of removeable storage. It wiped the Micro SD card clean and repartitioned it in a very short time including formatting it in FAT32.
I downloaded this but not sure how to use it. How can I find the failed MicroSD if the computer cannot read it?
After my card failed in the Focus I put it back in the reader on my desktop and it showed the card as a 200 Meg card but it did see it. I tried to format it with windows but it couldn't do it. Try putting the card in you reader and open the EASUS software and let me know if it can see the card. I guess the reason my computer could see the card might be because I have modified my register to load files and look at the storage on the Focus. The mod I used on the registry is the one that has been posted to several of the forums and it does work.
this sounds like spam...
SPAM is a lunch meat
Formatting an SD Card from a Windows Phone requires the card to be sent the "Force Erase" command (SD Card Simplified spec (pdf) Section 4.3.7.3). This would require support at the driver level and support by the SD reader as well - so it is unlikely that this software will work.
If you need to erase an Windows Phone 7 SD Card, hard reset the phone (although this will create a new lock on the card) or find a friend with a Nokia
Not saying it would work in this case, but I recently built a new Game PC and had lots of permmisions issues with several HDs, they were not even visible in Explorer, but you could see them in the Storage Manager, allowing me to do some format work and making them visible to the entire system.
The software has no problem deleting a pass word protected partition. When I put the card in the reader it was showing a 200 Meg partition that it could see and a hidden partition that It didn't show. It told me the hidden partition was pass word protected and then gave me the choice of formatting the 200 Meg partition or the entire card. I chose the entire card and then chose FAT 32 and it deleted every thing on the card and when it finished the card had 31.2 GB of space, the same thing it had before it was put in the Focus. Not sure how it done it but it did.

Can you post up where I can download the mod for the registry?
Edit: Nevermind, got it thanks
Unless I found the wrong registry hack (I used the one listed at MobileTechWorld for using the phone as a mass storage device), this whole process was garbage. Didn't make the card readable, and this "best software" couldn't see it.
EASEUS did not work for me
Downloaded the partition manager software. After the format, it displayed an error message and exited. My microSD card is still not formatted right.
Nokia did it for me
I have an old E71 that revived my card..

Wow! Funny thing is, that's not even full-on Symbian, it's S60. Because of your post, I dug my old Nokia N75 flip phone (which, similarly, runs S60) out of the retired phones drawer. It reads the Sandisk 16c4 from my Focus, and prompts to format it.
So, yeah, confirmed that any old phone running S60 can format a card from WP7. Awesome!

Lucky you!
I just downloaded this software and it does NOT see my microSD card. I have a Kingston 8GB C4 I want to reformat and ck speeds for posting.
If this software really works, then provide actual instructions in this thread to make it work.
Im trying to use the android running fron the SD card from another post, the android is under development still, but or some reason it only works on my 2gb mem card and not my 16gb card. is it maybe because of the format?
the 2gb came with the phone, but i formated my new 16gb on the phone but it still doesnt work.
thanks
this is all on the htc hd mini (photon) btw
You just Format your 16GB SD to FAT32, and copy the Cotulla's Android to your SD then open Explorer on your phone, and tap on HaRET.
That is it.
Of me, the Android works, but it's too slow mine, microSD 8GB
i'm using an 16 gb microsd on my mini and it runs android very well (fast) and in my opinion any 16 gb card should work since 16 gb are relatively new and faster than the smaller ones .Keep trying ,format the card on pc ,i personally formated with the phone's formating tool
damn.. one of the times i tried it did the start up video (very slowy) and then froze, now just keeps freezing on the load bar agen. i formated it using the phone formater as its the only way i can. but still bein gay.
ive got a string feeling its due to the type of memry card, as my difrent branded 2gb one works fine, but when the android is eventualy 100% done i wont be able to have it all on my 16gb

what brand/make is ur sd card?
thanks
it's Kingmax 16gb microsdhc class 2 (first time took android about 20 minutes to boot and now about 3-4 minutes )
Mine is writen (microSD), 8GB
in my Android, for first time had takes about 2 hours and creates Data File, but second time it's will boot about 33 Minutes (too much, isn't?) and the android runs but it's slow. I formated the SD with many Format programs.. all of them same things, I also upgraded my WinMo but it was same.
Hi Chaps
Got probs with my 16gb class 4 micro sd card.
Bought an htc hd2 off ebay last week which came with the above card and winmo 6.5.
I wanted to test out WM7 which I did, didn't enjoy it so tried to get Android working.
Now I came across the 199mb problem which I fixed no probs but now the sd card will just not play ball in CWM. It says it makes the partitions but this is instant and should take a few minutes being a 16GB sd card. When I come to mount the thing it just error's and says cannot mount sd card.
I've tried doing a full erase using the samsung sd tool and that took over 3 hours to complete which is strange. I've also used the tool to create partitions which it does without any problems.
If I put the SD card in my fiancee's HTC Desire and mount and format it it works fine but when I come to mount it on my hd2 it still can't mount it.
I also have a 4GB micro sd card which is class 2 and this works perfectly with CWM both with partitioning and mounting.
I'm on the verge of snapping this card in half and buying a new one so before I do I thought I'd ask on here for any advice.
Many Thanks
Use Panasonic SD Formatter and format using that. Should work then. No even need for a full erase, but if you want you can, but not needed. It should recover the rest of the SD card.

Cheers for that, done a quick format and it finished but now windows won't read it. Just comes up with the message disk is not formatted do you want to format it now.
Is this normal?
No problem. Erm well I've formatted my 8GB class 8 using that and I've never encountered that problem. When your formatted did it come up that it was restored to 14/15GB? You might aswell go ahead and format it.

Duh me, I had to remove it from the laptop and back in for windows to pick it up.
Just tried mounting the sd as USB storage and I get the following error
"E:Unable to write to ums lunfile (No such file or directory)"
Trying to mount the sd card I get this error:
"E:failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory) Error mounting /sdcard!"
As soon as I put my 4bg sd card in and try to mount it it works straight away
That's very odd. I don't know very much about SD cards/memory so I wouldn't know what's wrong with that.
I think you're best off getting a new card as I think that ones maybe worn out.
I recommend you don't use ebay for sd cards, they can easily be poor copies, just buy them from a recognised store, Amazon or Play
Cheers for the help guys. Think I'll just stick it in the digital camera as that seems to work fine and buy a new one from amazon or play.
yeah.. dont ever buy memory cards from ebay...
i tried buying one 32gb microsd before..
my comp doesnt even detect it..
bought a micro sd card nameless 64 gb on ebay. problem using it. often when I copy music to it. the samsung player wont recongnize all the files (all is mp3). it is a sdxd card which I think all micro sd card over 32 gb is.
And most important. when I wanna flash a rom or do a restore. I get the message corrupted file.zip. should I by a sandisk? or what? also tried to format it to 32Fat with no success. also tried to format it with the phone. same result.
HI,
I guess your card is a fake size one (often on ebay). you can verify the size with this program http://www.heise.de/download/h2testw.html on your PC if you have a card reader. If you are no german speaker, you can try to google for a different verifying solution - maybe there is an app in play store .
always try to buy branded SD cards. because its our valuable data they hold and take away (if they malfunction)
