Yes. If you have a way to get another goldcard you can use it. If you have a friend with Android phone or if you have another android phone you can make a new goldcard and you will be back in business.

Hi,
sorry, but I don't get it. I tried several methods I found in this forum to get root and recovery on my device, but no luck. Here is what I have:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32B SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0013 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-10
RADIO-2.22.28.25

What is so special with this device. Can anybody help me?

Okay, I managed to get root on it.
But if I understand it correct, recovery gets overridden every time I do a reboot, right?
Is there a way to fix this? Do I really have to downgrade? Are there any good instructions how to do this?

Thanks, but I tried this method and I couldn't flash the recovery image. I allways got an error, that I wasn't allowed to do that.

I got an error once. Yup. It was an error. And it didn't work. Yup... and error and it didn't work. But I fixed it. No more error. Yup... all fixed.
That couldn't be any more vague, could it?

If your device is the 3.5mm headphone jack version then you MUST flash the S-OFF recovery and a G recovery (not H).

No, it's the one from Vodafone, without a headphone jack.

Sorry, I normaly use a HTC Desire with Oxygen, so the Magic is new to me and I was a little surprised how hard it is to get a custom rom on it.
It's a HTC Magic, Vodafon branded with the latest Update:
Android 2.2.1

It's the altest Updated that Vodafon here in germany delivered.

need to un-root, bootloader not loading img

I have to send phone back to sprint. so far I flashed the s-on zip file and that worked but my bootloader 2.10 is not recognizing/ not loading the PC136IMG.zip. what is going on?

I followed the 2 step unroot process and was successful getting s-on but only after I downgraded the radio. I have the PC36IMG on the root of SD card but when it scans, it shows it but then quickly says no image or wrong image.
I realy need some help and appreciate and helpful advice.

"Chimera Tool" supported U Ultra S-OFF two days ago but i didn't try it because of the high price that i can not afford.
And where did you get v7 java card, curious about that.

Definitely don't waste your money on that. Chimera gives you a "temporary s-off" for the duration you're in download mode when you run it. Once you reboot you're back to s-on.
Hopefully it's not left my phone in a completely write protected state. I'd pretty strongly recommend waiting for sunshine.
Only reason I tried it was that the guys that sold me this worthless Java card let me run it for free since their card didn't work for ultra as advertised. They neglected to mention the result wasn't permanent or I wouldn't have done it

Wow. I've seen a few of those and a few people in those places who are actually capable of flipping the S-On/Off switch with just a PC and a cable.
Root, Get a custom recovery (TWRP), flash it over fastboot and then Flash Magisk or SuperSU.
