Factory Reset - EVO 4G General

How do you factory reset this phone? I am selling mine as a parts phone and I would like to know how to completely whipe it. I've got most cleaned out but theres some stuff I cant get. My Old touch pro you could hold 3 buttons and bam, reset. Is that so with a EVO?
Thanks!

Sooo...how long should I see the white HTC splash screen after a restore?

First time I've tried a restore. Going on about 10 minutes of the splash screen right now...slightly worried, close to pulling the battery and trying to reboot it. Suggestions?
I woulda pulled the battery by then. Don't quote me on it though.

---Yeah, go ahead and pull the battery. Put it back in and then restart...if it doesnt work after a couple times, you may want to post again to see what to do from that point.
No offense but this was posted 13 Mar..if he's still looking at white screen then he's seriously a little slow..but it is HTCotta jk

Ha, yeah I got this figured out pretty quick, probably should have come back and mentioned it. It had something to do with what my backup file was named, for some reason it didn't like the underscore in there.

[Q] Camera wont focus - stuck on macro focus?

MyTouch 4g does not have a macro focus setting, but my phone appears to be set on what seems like one. I did not drop my phone, nor did it get wet. But the only weird thing that happened was my phone felt really hot when I was charging it the day I noticed it changed. Up close pictures are extremely clear, where any picture of an object farther than an inch away are blurry.
Any help here? Going to Disney World in a few weeks and I'd like to be able to take some pictures! Haha

I'm quite illiterate when it comes to the technical terms. What are you wondering about?
I have hardware information, software information and phone identity information.

Have you modified your phone at all? Have you rooted it (do you have the superuser app). Have you unlocked the bootloader (When you turn your phone off, then hold the volume down an power button, you get into bootloader; does it say S=Off or S=On at the top)?

I have not modified it. I had to root it once for an app, but that was forever ago. My phone did not do anything when I restarted it holding those 2 buttons.

Take out the battery. Then put it in. Then hold down the volume and power buttons without letting go until you get into bootloader.

Should I do a factory reset? I just saved my contacts and got all my pictures off of it. Don't think anything else on there is too important.

Ah ok. Do you want to root? It is better if you ask me...
Otherwise I could get you the stock PD15 for 2.3.4.

I honestly don't know what either of those mean. I factory reset my phone, just incase it was a glitch, but the camera is still blurry. When I tap the screen to focus it doesn't do anything but still makes the sound. I'm starting to think something may have become dislodged somehow.
Possibly or something broke. Maybe u just need to clean it dude!!! Haha jk

Believe it or not, I thought of that first. But figured that wasn't it when I realized pictures of things less than an inch away are beyond clear.

Do yourself a nice favour and root your phone. It will benefit you. Just look at one of the many guides we have here.
Rooting means taking access of your phone, and being able to flash new operating systems (android versions). Maybe it will help by flashing a new ROM. (ROM is the operating system.
We have lots of guides, just follow them
