Gingerbread

Is it me? Or does it seem like every phone but the Epic 4G, vibrant, and captivate, have gingerbread or a gingerbread port that has minimum bugs? Why samsung?

I appreciate their work, but Cm7 Alpha doesn't have a lot of functions working...

Really? 4G is the network. Same reason it's an Epic 4G. 3D = 3 Dimensions, it's a 3D screen like 3D movies. They're not sequential version numbers like software, they're describing features of the phone in the name.

Also notice how in the name of evo 3d it says nothing about 4g like the evo 4g, evo 4g Sh!tless so i am betting sprint is dumping wimax and the evo 3d is just 3g thus the 3d is refering to 3g data and the d part for the revision d of 3g data...

Unless theres a good amount of features that I cant live without or be able to install individually through ACS ROM, Ill stick with Froyo. No reason to make my phone more complicated with an entirely new upgrade.

I agree but its worth the wait..

Bad download speeds anyone?

So before the 83 update I was getting about 3.0mbps down and 0.30 up.. after I'm getting 1.4-1.8mbps down and 1.0-1.3 up...
Anyone else with similar problems?

Yeah kinda. AT&T capped the upload speeds and I think lowered the cap on the download speeds.....
AT&T can suck my left nut 10x

it gets kind of annoying.

I jumped ship to tmo to the g2x. The phone overall perfoms much faster than my old atrix and I get 10 mbs down and 1.2 up on their hspa network

At first, My download speeds werent that great but after running the speed test a couple of times im getting 4.5 down 1.2 up consistently in an area where i got 3.0 down.
This also happened to me when i did the HSUPA mod before 1.8.3 was available.

Anywhoo... Here's where it gets weirder.
I took my SIM out of my Atrix and put it into my Milestone and now I'm basically getting the same crappy speeds on my Milestone now too.
^ A couple of days ago I was getting 3MB DL on my Milestone and now it's struggling between 1.0-1.5.
Somebody that has another Android phone (especially HTC or Sammy) give it a try and let us know if you are getting basic garbage "DSL-like" speeds too...

I just noticed I am on 3G now, same location as yesterday, but was on H+ yesterday. Downloads have dropped from 4-5Mbps to 1.2Mbps. Uploads still 1.2Mbps with. 83.

Wierd because after the update I see 4-5mb down as before I only was getting 1-2mb down. You may be in a slow bad connection area

If that reply was for me I should clarify that I have had. 83 since it was pushed to me for beta a couple days back. Speeds were great till today at home where I always get good connection. Phone is showing 3G and speeds have dropped on the download side. Finding it strange I now show 3G.

strange, I'm getting 5000-6000 download and 1300-1500 upload. And no I'm not on wifi. I turned wifi off while running three test.

this was a few minutes after... so i have no idea, i guess my network is unstable right now lol

pretty pathetic download now....wth.... before the update on 1.57 I had about 3.5 down and .3 up and now after the 1.83 update I have 1.5 down and 1.4 up. Testing at exactly the same location within a 15 min time difference.

Wimax problem...

Does anyone know why my wimax is not connecting? I'm on cleangb 1.0 ei22. The 4g icon just keep on scanning but not connect but my friend epic with the same rom can connect just fine. I tried Odin to ec05 and then reactivate hand free but still doesn't work. My ##debug# wimax settting is exactly like his.

Did you try Odining to EC05 without restoring anything? I say this because it happened to me and it carried over from bad data. I got it working without restoring anything then had to set everything up again.

Mine would do that...when I looked at the debug screen on wimax it would say obtaining ip then give up. A reboot would fix it.

4G on epic sucks for me... Used it twice... In chicago spotty as hell not worth the battery degrade for little speed improvement, same in atlanta and nashville.... I just removed all wimax files and free'd up a ton of memory and battery!!! Phone is super smooth and fast when you have over 420 mb of free space and still 35mb free rom memory. Plus less **** running using ram and battery. All those apps in the background do consume ram. They grab a small chuck and wait.......... Try it u may do what I did and day screw 4g. In addition my screen won't come on when open my keyboard so I never use that either.... More I think about the more I wonder why I even bought this brick......

4g doesn't use any battery unless 4g is actually in use... it doesn't run in the background waiting to be called upon... and my 4g works great... I live in columbia, mo and the 4g is awesome and never disconnects and I get great speeds with it

Where in CoMo do you get the best 4G reception? Seems to me everywhere south of Stadium sucks. Once you get south of Grindstone/West Nifong, it cuts out completely :-(

Ah the fun part of town I'll have to drive around and do some testing, the 4G map (don't remember where I saw it, Clear website maybe) is definitely incorrect about the areas with 4G reception.

Ya... you could call it fun I guess... seems like everyday some business is getting robbed... my wife had just left the store by gerbs and they got robbed at gunpoint like 10 minutes later.... but yeah they are defenitely wrong on their maps... I get pretty good 4g (2 to 3 bars) and they say there is no coverage here... oh well I like it... let's me tether my ps3 and play online with no lag... ;-)

Columbus ohio works great on gb didn't work so great on froyo but I use mine over 3g all day unless in the supermarket.

You get 4G in Columbia? I'm in Jefferson City for school and don't think they get. I thought Columbia was in the same boat. I only get to enjoy 4G when I go back home to Kansas City.

At this point you might have a bad 4G radio. Odin to stock and bring it in to a Sprint store.

That is crazy. Columbia I got 4G when I drove to Columbia earlier. It's crazy that Sprint still has them listed as not having 4G. Hopefully 4G is extended to Jefferson City too.

Hey guys!
I don't know why, but androidify doesn't work for me... I can only see the arms and eyes! I cant see the avatar I'm creating!!! It's making me so mad

- Uninstalled/Reinstalled
- Rebooted
- Reflashing my ROM and another one
- Tried a different kernel!

if you have rom toolbox pro it also has an ad blocker...go in it and select unblock ads. if u dont have rom toolbox pro, then im stumped too.

Mine never moved. I had to flash a different ROM altogether to even get the little guy to even show up, but once he did he never even blinked.

Currently I'm on network Three in UK. My LG G2 is sim-free. As you know Three started to provide free 4g service. But the thing is in the settings menu there is no option to chose 4g connection , only GSM and 3G. I should get 4g service because I live in London and 4g works here since December. My software version is D80210f-EUR-XX. First time then I turned on the device I got a small app update which is called LteConfigs , but nothing happened after.

Currently I'm on network Three in UK. My LG G2 is sim-free. As you know Three started to provide free 4g service. But the thing is in the settings menu there is no option to chose 4g connection , only GSM and 3G. I should get 4g service because I live in London and 4g works here since December. My software version is D80210f-EUR-XX. First time then I turned on the device I got a small app update which is called LteConfigs , but nothing happened after.

Are you sure the three 4g roll-out has reached your area? I'm on the same software version and can choose LTE in the settings menu.
Try putting a Voda/EE sim in and then check.

See this thread. Unlikely you will see any LTE stuff on your G2 yet from all accounts but in reality what speedtest are you getting? From deepest darkest Berkshire I am getting OK results for 3G

check notice under pink 4G data writting.. they scrapped their 4G and they gonna be powered by EE : http://www.gsmarena.com/ee_and_three_combine_forces_in_new__pound1b_lte_deal-news-7726.php

I had this same issue. It turns out my phone was from Asia. Accessing the service menu does indeed enable it but only until you reboot your phone.
The only cure I found was to flash a UK stock rom. Very easy to do and now I have 4g everywhere I go (well almost) :good:

which stock rom did you use? URL please
I want to go for the One Plan on Three but worried that 4G isnt working yet on the G2

Can I get directions how to install it? Can't find any guide. Half year ago did that on Sony z, but now forgot everything.

I'm on Three. I bought an international D802 LG G2 from ebay. It had an d80220a-ame rom on it. Three didn't recognise it and LTE was not an option. So I reflashed with the Open EUR ROM using this method and it worked fine
