[Q] Changing battery icons in android builds - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I was trying to change my battery icon so I can add the % to it, and have it measure in increments of 1%. I was using the method in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8527020&posted=1#post8527020
But as I found out, it doesn't work with sdcard-based android roms, since we don't have recovery mode to flash the framework-res.apk to the phone. And just pushing it into the phone while android is running will make the system go crazy and shut up, and then give you a looping boot afterwards.
So my question is, is there a way I can customize the battery icon in the builds posted in the development area?

Metamorph can change battery icon, but I only saw some battery icons increment of 10% not 1%

[Q] Battery Life Doesnt show correctly

im runnin Elegancia GTX by Miri & Steve - WM 6.5.X - V 2.0 FINAL and this version of android http://gamesquare.co.uk/froyo.html (original Froyo ROM)
the battery icon shows the ! as if its at 10% or less and the lock screens reads to connect to charger. the phone can be fully charged and it says this. ive also tested on different battery life percentages before booting and i still get the same icon.
i want to boot in android for most of the time but i also dont wanna be surprised when my phone dies becuz i cant see the battery life correctly
when i look in SETTINGS>ABOUT PHONE>STATUS
the battery life doesnt show a value
maybe i need to rephrase
my battery indicator doesn't show battery life, if anyone knows a thread that has the answer or knows how to fix please help me
again this issue happens once I've launched android, the battery status will always read as if the battery were low

Battery icon wont update

I am using a nand build, and i changed the status icons in the framework. but now the battery icon wont update as the battery drains, its supposed to be at 90% but the icon still reads full. is there a way to fix this? when i look at battery status it reads that is draining so for some reason there is an issue with the icon changing along with the battery reading.

[Q] Problem with Battery bar at top after super clean 1.0

I have flashed all of the supercleans for froyo on my phone since adrenalyne ( awesome dev), but after 1.0 the battery bar at top is always at 100%. After this i searched the forums and found how to reset the battery status. So i charged to 100% and left it for a long time then went into recovery and wiped status. I then proceeded to drain battery but it still didn't go down. Any thoughts?
Did you flash a rom that has Acc Bat mod? Super Clean 1 doesn't support accurate battery mod, maybe that's the issue... I'm not certain, just an idea
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Hmm maybe that is the problem .9 had the acc bat mod and 1.0 doesn't should i have maybe done a data wipe/cache wipe?
JB has the answer but as an additional help, some themes have the numbers listed in the battery symbol. In order for them to work right:
Charge up
Power down and charge up again until the phone vibrates as fully charged
Leave plugged in and reboot into recovery
Wipe bat stats (and other stats or cache - search forums if need more info)
Reboot and run without plugging it in. That recalibrates the battery and will help the "about phone" "battery status" match the top indicator.

[Q] Battery indicator wrong

I've had my phone for 20 months now and apart from the odd freeze it's been fine. When I first got it I installed an app/cab that shows how much battery is left in percentage. For the last couple of months this hasn't been working properly. For example it might show there is 20% of the battery left so I put it on charge. When I unplug it, it is still showing 20% so I need to restart the phone and then it shows the correct level. Yesterday it was showing 42% so I put it on charge this morning as I need it full for today. When I unplugged it, again it was still showing 42%. So I restarted it and it then showed 22% (was only on charge about 40 minutes). So obviously the battery was close to 0% rather than 42% when I put it on charge. This doesn't happen all the time, maybe once a week.
Do I just need to uninstall/reinstall the app, is there a better one I could use or could it be a battery issue? The phone is still on 6.5 but I might try a custom ROM now it's out of warranty.
Well, its quite a common problem now really...Firstly, you might want to recalibrate your battery. Read through this link and install the app: (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/windows-m...e-battery-discharger-better-battery-life.html)
If your battery percentage is still not displaying values correctly even after following the instructions and using the app, you have to try other methods.
Try downloading another battery percentage app (http://gadgetmix.com/windows-mobile...-monitor-show-battery-percent-windows-mobile/) or (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584772). Before you install the app, you should uninstall your current cab and observe the default battery indicator icon. If that does not correlate with your actual battery life, then ditch installing other percentage indicator apps and proceed to the steps below. If the default indicator is working well, then its your application thats causing the problem. In this case, reinstall the cab or install a different percentage indicator app. You can also skip the below steps(but you should really give custom ROM flashing a try. It will lead to many extremely good wonders like Android and WP7)
If the above does not work, it is recommended that you flash a custom ROM that is compatible with your phone. Also ensure you flash the right HSPL and radio. Most custom(and the popular/good) ROMS have a battery percentage indicator cooked in. If the ROM you flashed doesnt have the indicator, install the battery indicator app and see if your issue is fixed. Again, monitor the default battery indicator first before moving
If everything has failed and both your battery percentage indicator and default indicator is not displaying the correct values, the problem should most likely be in the battery. Get a new battery and see if that fixes the problem. Hope this helps. Gd luck!

Change battery Icon in OxygenOS.

I haven't seen anyone say anything about it so I thought I'd show everyone that you can change the battery icon in the status bar. You have to go to Settings>Battery then click on the battery icon next to the search button and three dot menu button. If this has already been show please have a moderator close this thread.
i found that there are charging animations for the first two battery icon modes (i.e. the battery & circle ones), but there is no charging animation for the battery text mode..
anyway i still chose the text mode as im used to reading battery in 1% granularity..
I use this app to have percentage in battery, it works flawlessly.
