Facebook update causes TouchFlo Restarts

Every time I update Facebook in Updates and Events it restarts TouchFlo. I've run into this problem before... After a hardware restart it fixed it but i'm sure there has to be a way to fix this. I have tried undoing anything I've done before this problem occured... But I've changed nor done anything... It just happen, any help will appreciated.

WE could really use some more info. Rom, OS version, Things of this type will most likely get you some answers

ROM version: 1.19.661.3 "Stock ROM"
Windows Mobile 6.1
Carrier: Telus "CDMA"

It seems i've fixed the problem, well more like it fixed it self, I took one of my contacts off the facebook link and it seems the crashing has stoped. It just seems weird to me that it would do that, would like to know the real reason behind this. Maybe there's a limit of contacts you can have linked to Facebook

Now that we're speaking of facebook on the TP2, does anyone know how to chat on facebook similar to the iphone app?

I ran into the same problem. I took a bit of a different route, though... It only seemed to crash on me when I updated from within the address book editing screen (not always, but often). On the Status Tab (Third or forth tab when in Address book, or viewing a contact), when I've updated from there, I haven't had any problems. Weird, but who knows.... Also noticed that if they Contact in the address book is exactly like it is on facebook, it automatically (after confirmation) sets everything up for you.
@Cacaman123 There isn't a way to "chat" through this integrated facebook feature. There are, however two options for you to look into.
Option #1
There is a Facebook App on the Microsoft website. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile. If you haven't already, sign up for an account (it's worth it, trust me... free apps and games, some of them pretty good too, some are demos, too). Once in there, arrow over "Free Extras" then click on "Games, Software, and More." From there, under the "Software and Services" side of the list, click "See all >" and on the next page there should be a facebook app. This app allows you to check friends status', update your own, check your messages, reply, and, as an added bonus, if any of your friends have their Phone number on FB, you can access it through the tab and call them directly from the app, through your phone.
Downfall: No Chat app. You are not allowed to do direct Facebook Chatting, you can send and receive messages, but no chatting.
Option #2
Palringo - Here is an app that I've been using for a long time. Bottom line, it's a multi service chatting program. You do have to sign up for an account (completely free), but after that, you can access any account of yours on the following networks:
* Windows Live Messenger ® (MSN)
* AOL ® Instant Messenger (AIM)
* Yahoo! ® Messenger
* Google Talk ™
* ICQ ®
* Jabber ®
* iChat® / MobileMe ®
* Gadu-Gadu ®
* Facebook Chat (Alpha)
With this program, you can chat directly with your friends on facebook.
Downfall: Chatting is the only thing you can do with facebook and this app.

My problem was the same, I was using the intergraded Facebook, crashed everytime I update in the address book editing screen. As soon as I took one of my contacts off of the link with facebook it started to work... But then everytime I open up File Explorer it would hang on loading "The last folder I tried to view was My Device\Windows". Couldn't even change which folder I was viewing, so with much frustration I turned to Hardware reset.

I deleted the "FacebookInfo" file in My Device folder, and it started working again.

Facebook Help: Help: An error had occurred while fetching data [null]

All of a sudden I got "An error had occurred while fetching data [null]" every time I want to see my live feed and my own profile from my Nexus One phone (stock Facebook app). I have no problem accessing it from the browser or PC.
Strange thing though, when i log out, then re-login using OTHER facebook account, I can see the live feed and the profile page no problem. Everything works fine again.
However, once i login using MY account, problem starts again.
I have hard reset my N1, problem still there.
Any idea? Please help.
I like the stock Facebook app on N1, don't really want to install another app or use browser to access it.
Oh and my N1 is stock, no root yet.

Calm down and take a deep breath I have the same problem. It is not your phone it is facebook server. I had the problem yesterday shortly and today in the morning. Now it seems ok for me...wait until they repair the problem and use the browser application in the meantime...

I've had this issue on the Desire ROM where the live feed on the Friend Stream just refuses to update... I was "locked out" for a few days.

strange, it wasn't working for a while until u put the facebook widget on my home. click on the facebook icon, then ta-da! all working again.
Not sure if it was a coincidence...

It's a problem with some 3rd party apps that push data to your facebook feed and the client's interpretation of the XML. Zynga apps being one of them.
You can experiment by hiding various 3rd party apps form your facebook feed (or logging in when you get the error on a computer and seeing what apps were there and not on your phone).
Once they're hidden (or, over time as they pass further down the history list) your feed will work fine.

i don't play games on facebook, nor have i allow any games to be on my profile.
strange, but it works ok now.

Not just games this can be form ANY third party app that has an illegal character in it....this includes quizes, "who visited your profile", horoscopes, any of those things, anything that is not a pure-facebook update.

Same problem here on htc desire S. On wifi all is ok. On 3g ''An error had occurred while fetching data (null.)'' This is very strange.

Unable to log into Twitter

Hi all
I've never tried the Twitter app in HD2 but now that I've got a Twitter account, I find that I can't log in. It keeps saying that I've entered an incorrect username or password, irregardless of whether I use email or username as my log-in ID.
It works fine if I use Opera but Twitter/Peep just won't work.
Any ideas?

I found peep to be very temperamental. Same probs as yourself and when it DID log in, it took forever to update. Just sat there spinning...

Cannot login to facebook or twitter

hi guys
i am trying to add an account in "accounts and sync" setting but i cannot login to facebook or twitter
i have internet connectivity and everything else works fine
there is a problem also when i try to login to hotspots at airports that require a sign in page. The browser does not redirect me to the login page and rather shows me the "no connectivity" window
any ideas

I've also got exactly the same issue, I was just about to post about it. Just flashed the latest official rom and I can't get these setup through the social hub.
I guess that means that there is some sort of server problem or something, I dunno but I'm glad I'm not the only one

Anyone else got this problem, has the OP fixed it? doing my head in :S

is it a buggy firmware, or are servers down ?

most likely the servers are down.

I've got the same problem at the moment, did a factory reset on my phone and its not letting me log into the account via the social hub anymore.
I can lot in via the facebook and sync via the facebook & twitter apps but not thru social hub.
I'm not running any customs roms so it looks like it might be a server error.

It's working now...

Its seems like its not working again, my facebook login keeps failing via the social hub.
Login works fine if I used the actual Facebook app and/ore login via web page.
Anyone else have this issue today?

hi i have already posted a similar thread to this one but didnt get any satisfactory answers or solutions, hopefully this time some one can HELP me
my Facebook (the HTC sense built in application facebook) does not download any pictures to my phone at all - no contact pictures or pictures from albums of my friends on facebook. even the FBcontact folder in windows is empty. my phone is sync with my facebook account, i dont have my contact sync with outlook so i dont see what is wrong with it. DOES ANY ONE KNOWS WHAT COULD GO WRONG?
also, my Twitter - the Peep app will not allow me to log in. every time i try to log in a window pops up that says that i have entered a wrong username and password wich i didnt. if i try to install the peep hotfix a window pops up again the says that the hot fix is not for my phone.
i have installed the lates vodafone ROM 1.41.161.1 WWE
i made HARD RESET once but nothing had changed
anybody knows what can i do to make it work again? if any ideas please reply

prob facebook : close FB app. go to default web browser (Opera or IE )and choose option enable view photo.go to FB app

Have you tried with a standard Web browser? eg. opera login to Facebook and see if there showing pictures? because I think the problem is in the settings

i dont think it is the web browser. not sure now if u know for sure what i was talking about. it is the BUILT IN SENSE FACEBOOK APP mate. when i go to all PEOPLE and try to link a contact with a facebook contact the picture will not be downloaded. it will show a down arrow wich is suppose to mean that the pic is being downloaded but this down arrow is ment to be in a ring or something. mine isnt. its just a down arrow wich dissaper after a second or two. just seems like the pic get lost somewhere in a 2nd dimension lol
the contacts are linked (phone and facebook) but the pics to them are missing. the same when i try to open a facebook album from a linked contact, the pic wont be shown, downloaded.

maybe u can try downloading the latest FB app, V1.1.0.26, search for it in the marketplace..

Facebook : disable https on your facebook account
Twitter : i have the same problem, the hot fix doesnt install. I wrote to htc and they said "try to uninstall and install it again"
I hope they release a fix for twitter and for https on facebook soon...
