Hi all
I've never tried the Twitter app in HD2 but now that I've got a Twitter account, I find that I can't log in. It keeps saying that I've entered an incorrect username or password, irregardless of whether I use email or username as my log-in ID.
It works fine if I use Opera but Twitter/Peep just won't work.
Any ideas?
I found peep to be very temperamental. Same probs as yourself and when it DID log in, it took forever to update. Just sat there spinning...
You need to use Motweets. I've been using it since I had my old Orbit 2. It's the
best WM Twitter app.

every time my phone screen locks, when i go to use the phone it is asking for my yahoo email password, I put it in & check save password but it doesn't work, and then i'd have to do the same thing all over again... anybody having the same problem? any suggestions?
Mine did that for the first time last night. Today it is working. I think it was a problem with Yahoo because it would not accept my password from the web either?
What ROM are you using?
i am using the Stock ROM

Hi everyone,
When I try to login on htc peep with my twitter credentials, I get an error telling me that I'm entering the wrong username or password. The problem is that these credentials are correct, as I can login using them on my desktop.
Anyone have a solution to my problem?
Tried:
- Removing twitter tab and re-adding it.
- Cleared peep cache
- Soft reset
Solution:
1) Go to the twitter website, change your password.
2) Try to login using peep, it should fail.
3) Go to the twitter website, change your password back to the original.
4) Try to login using peep, it should work now.

Try this, disable Tweeter tab in Manila Settings, restart Manila, then enable again Tweeter tab and try to login. I don't know why, but it does the same thing to me randomly.

Did that a couple of times already, still getting the same error ...
Have you tried cleaning temp files, caché, etc.. with SKTools or similar?

I cleared peep cache and my temp folder, still receiving the error
It is likely that your speling correction is active, changing the first letter of the password to CAPITAL one.
do short try:
input the password as always, then delete the first letter and re-input it.
Or, change your pass to have the first letter as capital
Have you any "strange" character on your nickname and/or password?; like an ñ; ç, etc.. Perhaps HTC Peed don't recognize that character...
I'm starting to be out of ideas.

Tried it, still receiving the error
it does the same thing if your using wifi instead of carrier data connection?

Problem solved now.
I went to twitter.com, changed my password.
Then tried to login with peep, login failed as usual.
Went back to twitter.com, changed it back to original.
Then tried to login with peep again and now it works again.
Really weird if you ask me ...

Check your TIME, DATE and TIMEZONE!
After a flash, this usually goes haywire. The timestamp between the Twitter server and your HTC device doesn't match up which is usually why this happens.
Try this out. This is the only thing that kept me from logging into Twitter with HTC Peep.
try logging out of your twitter account on your computer first then trying on the phone.

After a fresh flashing (including the last twitter security update) I'm not able to login into twitter and I get the same error message:
Login Error. You have entered an incorrect username or password.
I used this ROM before without problems, so I guess it is not ROM related.
Is HTC Peep starting to have problems again?

It's not Peep or ROM related. Twitter itself messed up something and NO ONE can use twitter anymore ;/.
I'm unable to login with tweet 'till today. Wrong username or password. Nothing listed helped.

I also had the same problem. I even contacted HTC. They asked me to send my phone to service as if they can solve it. They were not able to solve it. Finally I am using an application called MoTweets. I downloaded it from windows market place. After using it for a while I should say it is a lot better than HTC Peep. Try it
Yeah, I know MoTweets. Thats what I'm using right now anyway. But still missing Peep for its integration on homescreen (I'm kinda person "I have 4 seconds of free time, lets check twitter").
I cant log on to the damn thing. I know that I'm entering the correct user/pass, but I'm allways getting a "There was an error trying to log on. Try again?"
If I intentionally enter the wrong pass, Im getting the message that the entered pass is wrong.
So I know that my PDA has communication with Facebook, but is still unable to log on.
I'm using the latest 1.36 ROM.

I haven't had the problem but have you tried to login on Facebook via their site? Maybe they had a technical problem.
No problems logging on, in a web browser.
m.facebook.com allso works flawlessly on the PDA.
But Facebook integration in HTC Sense, still dossent work
I have same problem so i now always use website.
i had trouble with this but after the htc rom update its been workin fine, although i do have to logout before closing the programme otherwise when i next login it wont refresh or update and comments or status's i make

I can log on to facebook, but it seems that updating stops as soon as I exit facebook app: When I start it again, the only way to get any refresh is to log off and then login to facebook again. Also, the phone shows that the new facebook version from marketplace is installed, but about dialog of the app shows 1.1.0.17 instead of version 1.2 that should be the newest one
After the Facebook crash in september no version at all is working. In the meantime I am using the facebook Instant messenger (fim). It is messenger and also good for accessing facebook. Try it, it works also on HD Mini. See my other posting:

Same problem for me too! Very annoying indeed, and I hope a fix is available soon
Im not sure what happened. I belive i tried to login the gmail and after that my android market broke. The password stopped working everywhere. On my last builds i only used the gmail account to login to android market and this time i setup the gmail account in my email and it stopped working shortly after. I tried to clear the contacts and i cleared evrything else but it dint work. I enter password and it takes me to the magic word screen captcha. I just keep entering newwords anditjust keeps popping up with new ones forever

Have you tried logging in to gmail via browser or from a computer? May be that logging in to gmail will allow apps to log in...? (Just a guess)
wow what a stupid program.
i was locked out. and there was nothing explaining why it wasnt working on the phone itsself.
im suspecting that google has some kind of check up to make sure you have the account linked to your phone or another email.
because i do not see any reason for this happening in the first place.

i am trying to add an account in "accounts and sync" setting but i cannot login to facebook or twitter
i have internet connectivity and everything else works fine
there is a problem also when i try to login to hotspots at airports that require a sign in page. The browser does not redirect me to the login page and rather shows me the "no connectivity" window
any ideas
I've also got exactly the same issue, I was just about to post about it. Just flashed the latest official rom and I can't get these setup through the social hub.
I guess that means that there is some sort of server problem or something, I dunno but I'm glad I'm not the only one

is it a buggy firmware, or are servers down ?
most likely the servers are down.
I've got the same problem at the moment, did a factory reset on my phone and its not letting me log into the account via the social hub anymore.
I can lot in via the facebook and sync via the facebook & twitter apps but not thru social hub.
I'm not running any customs roms so it looks like it might be a server error.
It's working now...
Its seems like its not working again, my facebook login keeps failing via the social hub.
Login works fine if I used the actual Facebook app and/ore login via web page.
Anyone else have this issue today?
