wm7 on hd2

hi! I have an htc hd and i want to buy htc hd2,I've just heard that I can't upgrade it to wm7.
I think that you are the best,so I've stopped listening other people who say that on the htc hd2 you wiil never can't install the wm7
so I'm asking you,is that true? I mean in the future htc hd2 will rest at the wm 6.5?

I used to think the people on this forum were a bit harsh on people asking the same questions over and over again. but even I'm getting pissed off with these wm7 threads now. there are so many to look at! just do a search pal.

Yes, OFFICIALLY it will never have WP7. Whether it will be hacked on it, maybe, maybe not. To know for sure you'll have to wait until the first devices come out at the end of the year.
There apparently have been working things, but it's so far from launch that we can't really know if microsoft will come out with changes, protections or whatever until launch.
Now, do what you want, but there's NO guarantee, don't come and cry if you buy one expecting it and it never happens

hi is there is any SIMPLE way to port Android on HD2 that is for non developers or programers, well why because i want to do it but i suck at this if theres any thread or guide will be very welcome thanks....

there is NO WAY right now to even port it. like the guys above me said, go buy an android phone.

what you could try is:
copy a HTC desire ROM to your HD2 and see what happens when you boot it..

To the OP, no, there is not a direct port of Android in any flavor for the HD2, or any other WinMo based phone for that matter. Yet. This doesn't mean it won't be possible, amazing things have happened here on XDA since I joined in 2007. There are options though, keep watching this thread as there are currently 6 known working HTC WinMo devices that can run Android via a WinMo app called haret.

I think there's more than 6 winmo devices that can run android through haret. But otherwise, you're completely right.
I don't think a lot of the people on these forums asking for android on HD2 understand the fact that there has been no perfect android port for any winmo devices, yet. I've noticed there's a lot of new winmo users on these hd2 forums who think that a port should come soon and they will be able to install/flash it and have a perfectly working android phone. I've even heard people say they bought the hd2 anticipating an android port.
It doesn't work like that. It never has. These ports take time. They are very buggy at first, and even when they iron out the bugs, it is still not fully functional. It will probably be years before we have a port that can use bluetooth, wifi, camera, sensors, etc.
If you want to use android full-time as your main phone os, get an android phone. It's great when we can boot into android when you want and use some android apps, but it's going to be a very long time before its functional enough to want to use full-time. If you want to have a hd2 and make full use of its features, your gonna have to use winmo. A bootable android will be a great feature and fun thing to play with, but thats all its going to be good for for a long time.... something to play with. I dont think theres been a fully functional port to a winmo phone, yet.
So to the people waiting for android on your hd2... be patient, and dont expect a fully working version anytime soon.

Can you tell us what kind of improvements one might expect? in terms of compatibility with hd2?

i don't understand some people at all maybe its me but, why can't you happy with the work the guys do to get a.droid running on hd2 now wait and look at the posts instead of asking as soon as a new product is launched....when will this be done when will that be done. the guys do a stunning job and do it as a hobby i guess they don't get full time pay for it

i think he had other things to deal with and that he was "looking for something else" the V2 with Xboxmod was his leaving gift for us all
I also got the feeling that he got a lot of stick for what he did, from people who shall remain nameless
In my humble opinion I think that him doing what he did for us, kind of made "others" look bad, but lets not turn this in to a name and shame thread.
The chap was a legened, with help from many others on here he helped get give us not only a working Mango but also an updatable HD2.
Unless anyone else knows anything more perhaps we should just leave it with that...

Its really bad to see a dev like him that did such great things to leave xda.I hope he come back.

He did a fantastic job, I'm sure we all hated to see him go.

Only time will tell if we see Yuki back but lets respect him and leave it like it is.
I think that Yuki still looks at xda so now and then , so Yuki Thanks for all you did for us and I hope you will find other things that make you happy.

Thanks timmymarsh, bit of a pain though having the account deleted when you are trying to find a quote from him using search. Is there a way to reactivate it but possibly with a permanent ban or something? (I know, sacrilege. Let the flaming start!).

I believe that cotulla is still actually developing for the Leo, as on the 20th of feb he tweeted 'Yes, I am working under MAGLDR 2.01 for LEO which is required for UltraFruit2.'
Cotulla is a great dev, he will make magldr in his own time

nothing in the rules says you cant set up a vote, so who's in a position to not allow it? I didnt say there shouldn't be a vote, i'm merely pointing out that if i were cotulla id see this thread and think, ''go **** yourselves, demanding little children, , go write your own magldr''.

Er, which part of my post was demanding anything from anyone? Except a civil answer? I googled and didn't find an answer as to whether magldr would ever be revised so put a polite request in here.
