Was just wondering why the ShadowROM thread was closed. Fine if xda dosen't want to support external links, but why close the thread to those that want to talk about the ROM with other members of xda?
For those of you that gave this ROM a chance what are your impressions. I love this ROM. Very fast, one of the only froyo roms that sports an option for a rotary lockscreen with music controls built in. I also love the fact that it has a CPU scaling option which makes it so set cpu does not need to be downloaded. Below is a themed version of this ROM showing off the rotary lock screen.

I agree, this rom is pretty awesome. I flashed conap's CFS v5 kernel over and it runs even smoother than with the stock kernel that comes with it. So I highly suggest flashing conap's kernel.
The only problem I have with it is that there's no trackball or led notification lights for text messages. Or if there is they're not working for me, and I can't find any options in the settings for it.
I love the CPU scaling options too, no need for setCPU or collin's battery script for this rom.

ok, thanks for your help.
(post removed...question answered...sorry!)
Like everyone else said..I like this rom for all the little things.
Rotary lockscreen options
Not SetCPU required as is has the settings built in
The ability to swap any app from data to system and vice versa allowing easy uninstallation of system files
The camera/ 3d gallery works great
Adblock settings built in
The only downside currently is the lack of led/trackball notifications and an older kernel. Once these two things get spruced up it should be great.

I'm one of the unlucky ones, as I can't flash V0.2.0 or V0.2.1. I've been running V0.1.0 for about a month now, and I love it! Like mentioned before the only con to this ROM is that there are no notification lights.
When I try to flash the newer versions I get tossed into a boot loop. Has anyone had this problem and found a way around it? I'd really love to try the new update as it sounds even better than the version I'm running.
V0.1.0 is super snappy and reliable. GPS Locks on instantly, little to no FC's, fast, CPU integration. It's all there. But sounds like the newest version improves on everything. Plus there's a rotary screen! Drool.. Thanks to everyone in advance.
Are there themes available? Their website links to some, but none seem to be for the Eris. Are there other compatible themes?

For me the easiest way to get this rom was through rom manager on the market.
Just google shadowrom. It is easy to find. : )

Shadowrom.com. That's their site. It has the download on it.
My two cents, this is the most stable 2.2 Rom I've used. No lag, gps locks on immediately, no random reboots and also plays well with the Collin ph battery script. It took time for my phone to get use to running it, the fist couple of boots it was really laggy so I just kept rebooting and now its like butter.

Kejar,
You do some amazing work! I really enjoy the look and feel of your work, but I'm still not one to do ROM's yet. I am trying to learn the basic's of just getting themes and creating images for the themes before I jump in too deep =)
The reason I originally asked about extracting out the rotary lock as I figured you had built this from source like you did with GummyJAR. I appreciate your quick responses, as I know many devs have a lot going on, and cannot always reply immediately.
If I send you a PM, would you mind answering a few questions for me? I'm trying to jump in to themes, and eventually ROM's, and hopefully be able to give back to the community the same way you have.
Thanks again, appreciate the help and work!
Using GJ 2.1 and its fantastic. But what bugs me is the Zoom icon when browsing the web. Pinch to zoom is great. Don't really need the onscreen zoom icon. Its just annoying.

Been running GJ2.1 for about a week now, switched from TranQ 3.6. Just want to thank you for the best ROM I've ever used. What a pleasure to have no random reboots. My DX is now as bulletproof as my Mac, the system will run forever if I don't reboot it.
Looking forward to GJ2.5.
Thanks
I just wanted to say thanks for the great GummyJar ROM. The best so far since my dipping into the ROM world. Thanks again!
I agree. GummyJAR is also the best ROM I have used to date and it just keeps getting better . Thanks for you work Kejar.

I bring to you the not-so-impossible, Froyd on the HTC Droid Eris! =D
This is my first time on VR, but thanks to my good friend Pulser for helping me out Iam now here.
This ROM is brought to you by Me (Captainkrtek), with thanks to:
Punk.Kaos - For his base ROM KaosFroyo v39
Pulser
Conap
Decad3nce
Gnarlyc
invisblek
Everyone at VR for their hardwork!
This ROM is incomplete and probably has a few things not working, but I think is a good daily driver till I fix some issues.
What currently works:
Data (3G)
SMS
MMS
Camera
Haptic Feedback
Trackball
Wifi
GPS
Bluetooth
And other stuff that im too lazy to list
What doesn't work (yet):
Vibration
Probably some other stuff
Im not responsible if this ROM causes your Eris to implode/explode (I hope it doesnt) ;-)
Download V1.0 Here
Download V1.1 Here
UPDATES:
1.7.1
1.7.2
YOU MUST FLASH 1.7.1 FIRST THEN 1.7.2
Whats in these updates? As quoted from Pulser's post on VR:
Fixes twitter apps, apps missing from market, HTC IME mod FC etc. After flashing, you MUST wipe the app data for the market (menu, settings, applications, manage applications, all, market, clear data). Fixes voice search and speech support. Flash over 1.7.1. You MUST install 1.7.1 first, or you won't get those fixes. This goes in ADDITION to 1.7.1

Correct
2.2 vanilla, cm based
Regarding sense, there is a Hero rom called VillainROM 12 that I am reliably informed is very, very fast on the eris, to the point of it being more responsive in use than a newer device It would need ported though, so don't go flashing it from the gsm version
If there was/is demand for a 2.1 sense rom, that is fast but fully featured, let CK know
Interested
I am definitely interested in seeing this move forward from here .... not so sure about 2.1 w/sense, but VR 2.2.1 with CK (+PK !) & Pulser behind this project sure sounds like a winner to me !
Any new ROM that is FAAAST & STABLE with good support^(!!) for the lowly little Eris is ALWAAAYS a welcome option ..... that is, until the 'option' is an early upgrade ..... to a ThunderBolt, maaaay-be
Many Thanks to the Capt'n for showin' sum love for the many Erii still out there !!!
Ill keep improving this I also already have VR12 semi working.
Thanks!

At least for me it appears GPS isn't working yet. With only GPS turned on as a location source Maps complained that no location source was turned on. Not a complaint in any way....just thought I'd check since I believe you said GPS hadn't been tested.

very nice rom, I like it but question, why do 3d gallery app keep appearing on these roms? Yes its nice but everytime I load something using usb and then go to the gallery it takes forever to load. Thats why I like xtrROM because it gives you the option to choose which photo app you want to use. If this rom had it that'll be awesome. Its just that 3D gallery is not ment to run smooth on the Eris. Maybe or Maybe its just my Eris.
IF your hesitating to try CM7 because its in BETA... just give it a shot.
The only thing that doesn't work is GPS, and thats getting to be fixed...

So you've all been waiting for it and here it is! I know it may have seemed like we've been out of the game but, in actuality we were determined to send thins build out with working power control widgets and that's exactly what we did. Our philosophy has always been to make stable daily driver and this build in not an exception. Testing did not produce any issues and everything is very smooth and quick. We have strayed a tiny bit away from our roots of not theming but thinking about it we just couldn't resist so the rom has a bit of a car theme to it. Also, below are some modifications you can flash for the stock HTC animation and the battery icon with percentage or both combined. If you have any questions feel free to ask
***For anyone that is experiencing random issues try the following fix that worked on another testers phone. pull your pictures and backups(rom manager/ Titanium backup) and any other media (music and ring tones) off you sd card and format it and then put it in your phone and boot the phone back up and move your media back to the phones.***
With this rom you are going to want to use the official mr2 release radio.

Added power control widgets (Very special thanks to sk806 for help with this!)

Modified slate and blackboard themes for consistency in notification pulldown.

Added chainfire3d openGL drivers for smoother animations and better overall performance (thank you chainfire)
- You can download chainfire 3d app from the market to manage the drivers but they are preinstalled
Tweaks to system for performance and battery life
Minor edits to build prop.
Planned Features:
Toolbox (we are constantly working on this and hopefully will have it incorporated soon)
A planned release for updates in the theme
Modifications (Flash through clockwork):

Battery icon with percentage and stock animations
If you are not currently running the radio and want to flash our rom flash the radio first in hboot. With your phone plugged in to your computer open up adb and use the "adb reboot recovery" command to go right from hboot to clockwork and flash the zip file you downloaded above. If you need help with this just ask and I will walk you through it. Also, if you have any questions at all please feel free to ask on our forums at http://www.gtpdevs.com, we will be more then happy to help fix any issues

Very nicely done man. Only things i would consider is a 4 in 1 reboot menu to get to recovery easier and possibly the power widgets on the drop down. But this is your rom, that's entirely your decision.
Running very smooth though. I'll report any issues I find. Nothing so far.

You are quite welcome and thank you for your comments. Just to let you all know we are working hard at the notification pull down and power menu. We don't slap something together and release it. We are making sure the framework is not sloppy so you don't run into any issues with the rom. Also, kernel edits are underway and we'll let you know when it's done.
We take pride in making things stable and smooth. We'll make "kickbutt" roms, we just ask a little patience while we essentially make everything "perfect."
Now keep those questions and comments coming! Any criticism and thanks are more than appreciated

Lastly, if you didnt read ALL of this, then don't expect us to read ANY of your responses...Can't wait to hear from you guys!
I can honestly say this is the fastest and smallest in file size sense based rom that exists for the thunderbolt.
WARNING: THIS IS EXPERIMENTAL SOFTWARE WITHIN THE GENRE OF ALREADY EXPERIMENTAL SOFTWARE. SINCE WE STRIPPED EVERY SENSE ELEMENT THAT WAS NON INTEGRAL TO BASIC FUNCTION THERE ARE A LOT OF "DEAD LINKS" OR BUTONWS THAT LEAD TO NOWHERE/FC's DONT WORRY, JUST IGNORE THEM. UPON INITAL FLASHING MAKE SURE THE PHONE IS UNPLUGGED DURING THE BOOTANIMATION PERIOD, DONT ASK WHY, WE DONT KNOW WHY IT CAUSES ISSUES BUT IT DOES. AFTER SETUP YOULL HAVE NO ISSUES SO ITS A ONE TIME THING, ALSO BE SURE TO SWITCH ALL WINDOW ANIMATIONS TO FAST, MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE THE LOCKSCREEN SETTINGS IN THE LIQUID TWEAKS, LOCKSCREEN, AND CHOOSE HONEYCOMB LOCKSCREEN OR ANDROID, ITS SET TO SENSE WHICH DOESNT EXIST AND IF YOU DONT SWITCH THEM YOULL GET A MESSY INTERFACE WHEN SOMEONE CALLS YOU. RESTART REQUIRED TO PUT THESE CHANGES IN PLACE. ALSO RECCOMEND OPENING UP TERMINAL EMULATOR AND TYPING "su"
"st"
"1"
"enter"
"enter"
"zram enable"
ENJOY!
Niiiiiiice. Liquid rocks. Gonna give this a whirl right now.......
Not bad
I've been using this for the past couple of hours now and I really like it. It is actually the first non-sense ROM I have ever used on my Thunderbolt.
So far, I've only had a few minor issues. The LauncherPro FB widget does not seem to work, it gives me some invalid key error. I am not used to the keyboard yet, but I installed the ICS keyboard from the Market but it doesn't seem to change when I enabled it in the settings. I love the Sense keyboard but I guess I might try SwiftKey that I got from the Market the other day.
But it is super smooth, and I scored 2738 in Quadrant.
Yeah this is uber fast
Bad ass so far.

This rom is a great start, love the Beats Audio integration sounds excellent with my Beats Studio headphones. Too bad I can't shut off notifications in stock mms app I use Handcent and it sucks getting double notifications. I tried flashing the stock HTC mms app but then I was unable to send pictures. Big time bummer, so I'll stick to Liquid smooth 3.2 until the bugs get worked out.

Dang, now thats fast. Curious how it will hold up in desolate ND countryside- but in 4g Sioux Falls it moves like crazy. Great work

im not sure but i hope the updates come soon seems like its coming in with a bang. I got a 2090 on quadrant @ 1.4ghz. Thats pretty high for being a Sense rom lol
Anyone get this to install properly in boot manager?
So if u flash the htc stock mms.apk, does mms work? This rom is way fast, just couldnt get mms to work.

Great Rom
As with all Liquid Roms this rom is great, fastest sense rom I've ever ran, it still runs a little slower than AOSP but it's barely noticable unless your really looking and it doesn't include a few AOSP bugs that linger. Amazing how close the whole rom feels to their AOSP rom, I don't mind most simple sense elements mms, browser, contacts, though I still hate htc's dialer, though I understand that's the most impossible item to remove from a sense rom.
Great work
Hm not sure why why myverizon doesnt work, first sense rom that it didnt work with, and another thing is there no music player widget? If so how can i get it thanks for all your work

try clearing the data from the myverizon app, that's helped me get myverizon app working again the few times I've had trouble with it in Sense, if that doesn't work uninstall and reinstall, it's working for me on this rom.
Have cleared data and uninstalled reinstalled and this is my 3rd flash of this rom now in which i did full wipes. Not sure what could be wrong first nonsense ive used in which myverizon doesnt work someone help please
