It's time for another noobie chef question.
I've successfully cooked the GTX theme and CHTE 1.8.5.1 into my ROM, and I'm feeling very pleased with it. I'm now trying to get the lock screen to default to the one included with GTX/CHT on first boot, but am having no luck at all.
I found the registry entry that shows the CHT lock screen being active, but changing the DWORD value to 1 has no effect at all. Regardless of what I cook into the ROM, I am required to set it manually after flashing.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Thanks
VK
change the cht_lockscreen.dll into lockscreen.dll.
Remember what Cookiemonster said, if you will do this you will be not able to revert back to default lockscreen.
EDIT: recmod lockscreen.dll into your sys folder.

Aha, that was the missing info I needed!
In theory, I should be able to edit the registry to point to cht_lockscreen.dll by default? I'm gonna give that a whirl.
Thank you af974.

Well this is proving harder than I thought.
I've installed a Kheb's registry snapshot app in an attempt to track the changes that result in the default lock screen being changed. What a nightmare!
I've tracked loads of changes when I enable/disable it, but even so I can't get it to set default at first boot. I'm not willing to simply replace lockscreen.dll as that would take away flexibility of using the original lockscreen so a battle is ahead... Man versus HD2.
On a brighter note, I've changed to build 21681 and have got GTX + CHTE both cooked into it. I'm obviously getting somewhere!
I made it some many times but without a good result, the only way to have CHT Lockscreen by default is to rename the CHT_lockscreen.dll in Lockscreen.dll.
When you select in CHT Editor to have CHT Lockscreen you will prompt to soft reset your phone, i guess that in this phase CHT renam automaticaly the Lockscreen.dll.

I guessed the same thing, so I guess the trick is to work out what it does with the original file. If the tool does rename the file, and because it allows you to change back, it would make sense that the original lockscreen.dll is still there.
I'm going to try to track this down.

So, I was just poking around with PHM Regedit on my RhodiumW (Running MightyROM) and I noticed a value in there that I found interesting.
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila
In there is a key called "EnableLandscape" (not in "Memory", but under the main "Manila" heading). Since I'm running MightyROM and it uses Manila 2.1, the value is set to "true."
I was using a ROM before that used Manila 2.5 and I loved it, I just really didn't like that I couldn't see the home screen in landscape mode.
So, can someone currently running Manila 2.5 open up their registry and check that value, if it's there. If it is set to "false," change it to "true," wait a few seconds then soft reset. Who knows, maybe it'll work!
I appologize if this has already been looked into...
The value doesnt exist in manila 2.5, just checked...

It wouldn't do anything....
Manila 2.5 doesn't have any existing landscape parts other than photos and music.

I have tried this as well as the reg edits to enable screen rotation for the imagio. with sense 2.5 all it does is allow screen rotation and there is still no filed for landscape and shows a black screen.
Dear all,
I installed Dusk 6.5 Lockscreen 6.5 but after a while I decided to go back to standard WM6.5 lock screen (the "new" one, with the slider). After uninstalling the Dusk Lockscreen, I cannot get the original Windows lock back. No matter what I set in Settings/Lock/Display, I have the "old & ugly" lock with left soft key.
Can anyone send me or post here the original HTC_LS_LockScene480x800.cpr, HTC_LS_LockScene_800x480.cpr, LS_LockScene480x800.cpr, LS_LockScene_800x480.cpr and all related registry entries for the Windows Lock application?
Many thanks,
Radu
yeah that would be great. i need this, too
Ditto - can't get the original slide to unlock method back either. =(
That's because what you are looking at IS the HTC lockscreen and yes it's mega ugly.
The one you want is the WM/WP lock screen and it is a pain to restore. But here is how you do it:
1. Delete the entire Key: HKLM\Security\Shell\Lock
2. In HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\LockScreen\* (SMS,EMAIL, etc)
2.1 Delete each entry for "application command line"
3. HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\LockScreen\Notificat ions\SliderFocus, SliderNotif and SliderNotifFocus edited the value to remove 'htc_'
4. Install TPC default_lockscreeen_enable.cab
5. Soft reset
This will get you back to the default Windows screen with the roundish keys and the three radio buttons (unlock, contacts, email).
Hopefully that is what you were looking for.
Credit for this goes to TwoPumpChump (TPC) he found it for me.
Russ
thanks a lot
I was messing with some lockscreen theme and after uninstalling some of them, I found that I can no longer get the WM6.5 lockscreen back
What I have now is the old one where you have to press the unlock button instead of sliding a slider
I have smartlock installed and it couldnt turn the new lockscreen back on either
Is there a registry tweak to re-enable the new lockscreen?
Use regeditor and go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Lockscreen and change Enable to 1 and that should do it.

You can always go to Settings -> Lock, and the third tab at the bottom is Display. On that tab choose Windows Default and you are good to go.
I am having the exact same problem. I downloaded and installed the Dusk Lock 3.0. It worked fine, but when I uninstalled it, I can't get my 6.5 Lockscreen anymore. I tried kwill's attempt, but it did not work. I also tried sk8mdw's info as well, and that did not work either. I am getting really annoyed that I have lost my ability to use the stock 6.5 lockscreen. Is there ANY advice out there?
As a side note, I have already left a response on the Dusk theme page and have not had any replies yet.

Anybody with any ideas? I would love to have this resolved without having to resort to a hard reset.

This just happened to me also, I didn't have the Dusk simplepin screen graphics.
So I removed it in the process of finding all the cpr files and images for the lock screen.
HKLM/Security/Shell/Lock
Renaming CustomLockScreenMask brought back the original.
CustomLockScreenPath points to \Windows\LockScreen, which has 4 cpr files not on the rom along with 4 cpr files from the Dusk theme.
Renaming this in the registry made no difference.
Now using a simplepin the graphics are different and there are shortcuts for email/contacts on that screen.
I suspect HTC added some custom images/cpr files for the LockScreen but may not have completed it, causing this bug when uninstalling Dusk.
So reinstalling the Dusk theme I now have all the graphics.
You have a folder in windows called Lockscreen, first go to windows and find
LS_LockScene_480x800.cpr
LS_LockScene_800x480.cpr
htc_LS_LockScene_480x800.cpr
htc_LS_LockScene_800x480.cpr
copy and paste each one of these into that folder I mentioned after thats done do a soft reset, that should fix it.

I had this same problem and Kaos over at SPJ hooked me up with some file that brought that back. The only thing thats different
Thanks for fix, seemed a little sketchy but worked for me. Running stock 6.5 ROM from Verizon. Will post on the Dusk theme thread about this, because it also reprogrammed my soft keys...
I had the exact same problem. What worked for me took only about 2 minutes to accomplish.
Here's the solution that worked for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5344900

Hey Folks,
I got since several weeks a custom rom on my HD2, the only problem it the (nice looking but bad locking) HD-Mini lockscreen, which had already been cooked into the rom.
This means shortly said - the phone really often does weird things in order to unlocking the screen, which is really to easy to unlock - especially in my pocket while walking.
So, what I want is the old one back, the stock HD2 lock screen - all this sh*t never happened before (for e.g. uploading 100%dark pics of my pocket to facebook... )
How can I do this without flashing a different rom or hardresetting?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!!
Maeffjus
Possibly find the original somewhere in the app section, it should over write the Mini one or wait for someone to CAB the original and post it up here
No... a look at the cabs-post was not helpful..nothing there..

Why? Its funny, and in some cases appropriate
Ohhhh my fault - sorry, but I'm not able to change...
No idea - by editing the first post it is not possible..
Also I installed the file I found at the link and it is still not working also after softreset the HD-Mini screen appears..
Why not try Cookie's home tab coupled with the CHTEditor? There are lockscreen layout options... one of the options is what lockscreen style you want.
Just as the other poster stated above, without knowing what ROM you have flashed, one can guess that Co0kie's HTE was cooked into it thus leaving the locksreen activated by default.
From the Homescreen: Goto Menu-->CHTE-->Lockscreen Setting-->ensure "Enable Default Lockscreen" is on and that "Enable CHT Lockscreen is off
Scroll down and there should be 3 options with radio buttons next to each
- Manila
- Windows
- HD Mini
Choose one.
Or the problem could be with the ROM itself; it's cocked.
the mini lock screen uses a different dll so just restoring the original lockscreen file won't work, the registry needs editing to make chome use the original dll.
sorry but currently not in a position to help In more detail.
Hmm tried it with CHTEditor but did only work with cookies lockscreen... the original ones are not working - no matter what is configured, it shows the HDmini-screen.
You may need to get a ROM without it then, or get the Chef to cook one for you
Hi all,
I'm trying to make a cab which should hide tabs in Manila but for some reason
it doesn't want to hide the tabs.
Does someone know how to accomplish this?
Thanks in advance!
The following registry I've added in the cab, but after the cab is installed and I softreset the device the old registry is still there plus the tabs are still vissible.
This values I copied from device after manual hiding the tab first.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"Manila://footprints.page.hidden"=dword:00000002
"Manila://docexplorer.page.hidden"=dword:00000002
Hi,
Just look, may be you need to modifiy the key in:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\Configuration\(n° of tab)\Enable=0
But I think the problem if you do like that tab number should be the original number, if you move the tabs cab will not work.
Hi Ct_moi,
Thanks for your answer but that key doesn't exist on my device.

Sorry my bad, after some more investigation, this hides the tabs.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"Manila://footprints.page.hidden"=dword:00000001
"Manila://docexplorer.page.hidden"=dword:00000001
Weird as I copied previous values from device.
Anyway it's solved.
Thanks again!
Interesiting,
I was trying something similar for my next release of my kitchen build. Like you I went into the registery and changed the dword to 2 and it made the particular tab hidden, when I tried it as part of a cooked rom it crashed sense.
From what I can tell dword:2 should enable the tab and dword:0 should hide them, but as I said when I tried it, sense just froze on startup.
I am also looking into being able to predefine the order of the tabs as well, so you can cook only the tabs you want and the order you want them. I'll let you know if I come up with anything!
Nono that's not what I did.
This is what I did to discover the registry values of hidden tabs.
First I made a registry dump with Dotfred´s Taskmanager on my device
Second I went into Manila settings/Personalise-Home screen tabs and untabbed the tabs I wanted to hide.
Third, after softreset I made another registry dump after the tabs were hidden
Fourth I compaired the two dumps (before and after) using ´Compair it´ and copied the changes
That´s how I found the values of ´2´
The value ´1´ to hide the tabs was just a wild ques and it worked.
