My phone keeps going to the HTC Quality Brilliant screen, then the Droid logo screen, comes up to the slide to unlock, counts up to 100%, then reboots.
I just tried updating to froyo with the update.zip shown here in another thread. The update went through fine, I even tried updating it again, but just keep getting this reboot loop.
Any help would be appreciated!
You might have to RUU back to 2.1. I'm not really sure though, so hopefully someone who has had this happen to them will come in here and know for sure. Good luck!
Got it with the 2.2 ruu

Ok my mogul went dead before I could get it plugged in, so I plugged it up come back later to cut it on and it goes to the plain HTC screen and hangs... I tried a hard reset same thing, tried putting the latest DCD rom back on it and same thing.. Can someone help me... the only thing it seems to be able to do is go into the BL mode and the hardreset mode.
FYI.. Mogul has been running for a week or more since the unlock. And I was so pleased with the new proformance. Thanks for the help.
I had the same thing happen to me this morning... and I just barely installed the sprint 2.17 ROM, and it seems to be booting just fine. You could try that. Thing is, though, I'd expect DCD's rom to work just the same way, so I don't know for sure what to tell you. I've got the custom BL installed, and I've been running DCDs ROM. I just decided to switch back right now because A. I'm not at home and only had time to download one ROM, didn't want to risk needing to do it twice, and B. I wanted to compare which is really better and decide why.
The coolness factor on using a custom rom is, of course, good... ;-) but I want to see what the full differences are.
Anyway, I'd try that if DCDs rom isn't fixing it for you, because when I reflashed it it came right up.

Have you tried removing the battery for a few minutes.
I assume he tried that... I sure did. Update, however... the phone worked fine all day until I had to turn it completely off, and so I just pulled the battery; same problem recurred.
maybe I need to restore the original bootloader? dunno.
Well, I'm tring to load the stock 2.17 rom back on... Took it to the store they looked at it put it in bl mode and handed back and said it was my problem since I modded it. Guess I'm going to short it out so that insurance will cover it.
UPDATE : Ok so the 2.17 rom did allow to boot back up to a normal state, so maybe there is a problem that if the phone goes dead on the custom rom that dosn't allow it to recover, kinda wierd.
Thanks for the help, I was really pissed about sprint not replacing it. (HEHE, guess thats what goes with customizing your phone)
I've got mine back up and running DCD's latest 2.1.0 and it's great.
you can put everything back so that sprint doesn't know you did anything, so I wouldn't worry too much on that score. Other than that one time, I haven't had an ounce of trouble with it. don't let this turn you sour to custom roms, you'll miss out on some cool stuff... gps, for example.
doesn't boot
please help, i folowed the instructions from this website: http://www.phonenews.com/how-to-add-gps-to-htc-mogul-xv6800-p4000-titan-2663/
i opened up Hard-SPL-240-MFG.exe i got the 3 color screen and then i could'nt get active sync to work finnaly after a few reset and even a hard reset i got the 3 color screen to go away but now phone won't boot, the phone gets stuck by the htc screen can any help me in detail how to get the hone to reboot, when i reboot it displays that it has 3.27 and the 2.17, thanks in advance
that radio and rom version are incompatible with each other.
So just decided to get an evo. My wife has had hers since release day. This one Has the 2.20 and the 3.30.651.2 Build. The quality of the screen is horrible compared to hers (the color and brightness). Before even being able to root it I couldnt use QIK because it reboots the phone. Downloaded the latest one and I can open the software and its after my camera kicks on that it reboots now....
So i rooted it and got the s-off. Now I can take nand backups but its says they are corrupt. Cant flash a rom because it will hang on the Evo boot screen or it will drop to a boot loader loop with the HTC with 4 exclamations....
Is anyone else seeing this or is this guy flat out a lemon?
I have looked around the forums a little and found people having a hard time rooting and s-off which was easy after skimming the forums for a while. Thanks ahead of time for any input in this.
The screen problems im not sure how to fix
there is a new ota to fix your camera issues, yours is most likely the new hardware/camera 004 model.
for rooting the only method that works is toast's, unrevoked wont. Unless im behind on info. Have you tried toast's method?
Unrevoked works fine. Took me about five minutes to root useing that method when I got my replacement phone.
As far as your phone issues, take it back to the store and show them the problems. Get a replacement.
Oracle, go to your bootloader. What is the first line? Is it Supersonic EVT2-3 S-off? If so, I had the same problem. You have bad blocks. My recommendation is the that you flash sprintlovers ROM. It cones as a pc36img.zip, and you flash it through bootloader. I tried every method of rooting and none of them would let me flash through recovery.... I always either got errors while flashing or, even if it seemed to flash fine, it would never boot. Also, Sprintlovers will get your pri corrected. If this works for you, give me a shout, and I have an idea we can try.
Ok, I just bought a Dell Streak from Rogers Wireless, it has 1.6. Seeing how this update seems to never come, I would like to get the New Froyo build on it. I have rooted a Nexus One before and got Froyo running on it before it was released so my knowledge isn't totally bad. But all these forums and post all over Modaco and XDA are really confusing me. I have no idea where to start. You know, step 1 type thing. Can anyone help me out. This is a locked, un modded streak. Ill update my progress as I go along. Thanks for any help.
Its actually not too difficult. I followed the instructions outlined here.
Remove the - from the beginning and end of the comment.
Basically we go from Rogers 1.6 to o2 1.6 - then from o2 1.6 to o2 2.1 then from 2.1 to Steven's 2.2 (1.1.1 update) then to 2.2 (1.3) all the while following the instructions on how to use fastboot and recovery.
Be sure to note (i had this problem) when you finally get to 2.2, there are people including myself who have been stuck at the Dell logo on boot up. This is fixed by going into the recovery app and mounting the SD card as well as Data. This can also be fixed by a Factory Reset in the same recover options (holding left/right volume at boot)
Hope that helps.
Not Development so will move to General
One thing to keep in mind is that Although 1.3 is great its not without its issues. I'm having trouble with certain built in apps crashing (ie. Camera in HD Record mode)
Ok Im reading the guide. It looks like it will get the job done, but the guide STARTS from and ATT 1.6 or and O2 1.6, I did notic that half way through it talks about downgrading to the 1.6 O2 Rom, so would I use that method to Start from Rogers 1.6 to 02 1.6?
ok now i need help,
I did everything perfect till i got to the Froyo 2.2 (1.1.1) i couldn't for the life of me get my data to work, it just crashed everytime i put in the APN. So I reverted back to 2.1 O2, and now I can't get Clockwork recovery to come up, so i can't move forward again. When I hold the volume and power i get the 4 options. BUT when i click on the update.pkg I get a Android recovery thing in blue that was to do an emergancy recovery and the click to the camera button to start. I can't get a customer recovery back on for the life of me. Someone HELP!
phone was working fine went through forums found kernel to get rid of green screen in cm6.1.0 loaded it and the phone would not boot at all. tried to go back and start from scratch by re hboot and reload everything and it hangs up at unzipping system in hboot. hopefully not brick. i have let it load for an hour no progress is the system file compromised? if so is there some were to get a new one.
sorry slight noob to this but first problem that i have not been able to find an answer to in these forums.
any help much appreciated thanks!
So, the mytouch 4g I have will not go past the splash screen. I think an RUU may work on restoring the phone to stock but, I mean an exe ruu if that exists for the mytouch 4g the one I had found was uploaded on megaupload and megaupload is gone as many of you may know. I have tried a PD15IMG.zip 2.34 version and the phone gets passed all the saying yes to update but, then freezes once it starts to update. If I do a factory reset in hboot it freezes as well. I cannot access recovery either as it only goes to a black screen and nothing more.
If anyone has a link to the RUU I would greatly appreciate it or if anyone can help me with my problem at all I would greatly appreciate that as well.
The phone is totatlly stock and when I do the bootloader update with the PD15IMG.zip it DOES NOT say "failed-pu".

I'm having the same issue but mine wont even try to flash the RUU
Phone that freezes when doing factory reset or flashing bootloader, is just as dead as the one with Fail-PU.
Phone that doesn't try to flash the RUU - it means the owner of the phone didn't follow the guide properly and didn't search enough. There are several reasons why it can happen, starting with incorrect file naming, through SD card format (FAT32) and some more.

So to be clear as clear as clear, owners of these phones should go ahead and chuck them on the bay for 50 USD?
Those that have the update stuck on bootloader update, and factory reset getting stuck? Yes.
