Just installed TF3D on my polaris, woo hoo

They have a Test version out now in QVGA, from here:

I followed instructions and it works it is pretty smooth, the audio manager doesn't work but everything else does. all I can say is Wow.
I am using Syrius R1 plus 3D drivers from this forum. I am really happy, no need for Diamond now.
Edit: It seems if you try to do too many things at once, it will slow down and you need to reset it, ALSO if you press the power button seems to just blink off and on until you press power button again. It is REALLY NICE THOUGH I can't wait until they get the bugs worked out. In the forum he does say it is not meant for daily use but for test only so uninstalling and going back to 2D.

This is a BETA version only guys.. test it.. love it..by all means, but be aware that a hard reset at some point (especially when a new version comes out) is probably a reality so make sure EVERYTHING is backed up before you install this.

It looks kinda slow on the youtube vid. Is this also the fact, or is it because of YT?

Yes, it is slow. But very impresive. Album and audio maneger don't work for me.

It works. Still too much slow for a day to day usage. But maybe we will be able to use this one day .

its working great, little bit slow.
Just waiting for the 'final' release

Since I don't know how to do that cooking stuff, I'm hoping someone releases a ROM with it cooked in, since like itje said it seems to run even better than when it's installed as a .cab.

Did you have the power button issue? When power button pressed it blinks off and on. Do you get slow downs making so you have to reset?

There is no more TomTom inside. But who needs old TomTom 6.
Regular keyboard is installed by default. There is no more old Polaris "touch" keyboard.
I don't know, but I think that this ROM is really fast.
I just tested IGO 8.31. I think that my GPS signal problem (mentioned in other tread) disappeared with this ROM. I will test IGO on the road.
Here is DDI included in this ROM. DDI version 3.18 and 2 kb bigger than 3.13

I think that video playback (coreplayer, TCPMP) is really better. Can somebody else test this?

Without Touch keyboard, does HTC Touch Cruise still live up its name as 'Touch'? Wonder why HTC didn't put this in the latest ROM. Is HTC expecting us to use our finger with the small default keyboard?
By the way, my Video playback seemed to be worse than previous after the upgrade. All those converted video of mine can't be played properly in CorePlayer. Lag a lot in playback.

stable and fast rom
I flashed this rom and tested for several days.
Personally I think this is very good rom, fast, very stable and very smooth, no problem with any function by now.
I tried most of the rom here and now decide to stick this rom. I would strongly recomend people who are looking for stable and fast rom to use this rom.
BTW, I flashed radio 1.59.42.23, I'm not sure if 1.59.42.15 will has same performance or not as I prefer to update to a latest version

Very smooth.
The screen is more sensitive when touching comparing to 3.13.xxx.x, no lag as many cocked roms but more stable than many cocked roms.

FM Radio Problem
Hi.
FM Radio software seems working properly at first look, but if try to search, couldn't find any station.

Is it possible to port the moment leak to the hero?

Just wondering as it seems it's much better out of the box than what we have!
I was also reading the moment forums and it seems there still convinced that we will get the update before them, seemed kinda strange to me!

I thought about flashing to see what would happen, but it seems the process is a bit different than on our heros!

What bluetooth crap? I've been running 2.1 since I got my hero (only ran 1.5 long enough to drive home from Best Buy. Already had the rom downloaded and my pc set up for rooting before I even went to buy the phone).
I've never experienced one single problem with bluetooth, across at least 10 different 2.1 roms I've tried.

You'll be giving up a lot of standard features... like pinch to zoom (although I hear they finally got touble tap to zoom). Just FYI

Bluetooth problems seem to be about 50/50 with hero owners!
I seem to be in the 50% that bluetooth sucks ass on any 2.xx rom, and works flawless on 1.5.
Sometimes I wonder if all heros were hand built, it would explain all the different problems some have and some don't!

no i think that everyone uses the BT diffrently ... my BT on the hero suckss ass on 2.1 and works great on 1.5 .. i have a car radio that i can play music form my phone and at the same time do navigation voice ( from the phone also ) ..on 1.5 it works great ..on 2.1 it works for 5min and then both sounds are gone and i get a FC on BT driver , my audio BT headsets on 1.5 works great on 2.1 it just craps out every couple mins ... cant even use it at all...

I guess that explains it. I only use bluetooth for a small headset and file transfers. Both work flawlessly.
I don't use a2dp at all, which now that I think about it, is what I've heard most people say they've had trouble with....

I can do this. Expect a port in 10 minutes, or whenever it's done downloading.

By small headset I assume you mean just a single ear piece?
If thats the case it works great on any Rom I have tried, it just streaming music where it cuts out and skips a minimum of 5 times per minute of song, and forget doing anything else on your phone!

I've used stereo bluetooth on dc v1.0 and flipz2.0d without a problem... was only for about ten minutes, but was still longer than 5

Yep, the single earpiece with a mic used for phone calls, not headphones for listening to music.
Even though both uses are transferring audio, they actually use completely different bluetooth profiles, which I suppose explains why one works well and the other doesn't.

Which build does bluetooth and wifi tethering work best?

I have tried nearly every build out there of android for the HD2, but I cannot find one where bluetooth and wifi portable hotspot work seamlessly. I have seen bluetooth work good in the desire builds and the wifi tethering on the Nexus one build. Does someone have a workable option? Do I need to change roms again? I have used all radios. The rom and I using is Miri v6.5.

I'm looking the same feature. The build with Sense works good on Bluetooth calling, but I don't like Sense...

Anyway, to the OP. Pretty much the only ones that I have found that had BT working, but also had crap battery life, were Shubcraft and Mattc. I switched over to builds with better battery life, but the loss of BT is killing me.
I see that Mattc has a new build out - two actually - so I hope that BT still works and the battery life is just as good as the new builds such as HTCclay builds.

Just to say, because I thought ICS had quite poor performance and battery life, I tried to switch back my DHD to Gingerbread Sense ROM, but...
thirty minutes after having played with it, I just restored my backup. I did not remember GB was really not as nice as ICS. :laugh:

Yep, same here. Then I tried to use the stock camera to take a picture :laugh:
Went back to sense as quickly as possible.
I also have an omnivision sensor. Until a sensation XE port comes about, I'll have to stick with GB.
