How to reset battery stats using terminal emulator - Galaxy S I9000 General

After i flashed back to my stock JG4 the battery percentage is not right.I shows 100% in ten min after i plug-in the charger. Can anyone tell me how to reset the stats using the terminal emulator???

Don't know about terminal emulator, but have you tried charging the phone while it is turned off? It seems to solve a lot of battery issues...

The cache bug still exists in dk17. It showed up for me a few days ago and then again showed up for mrs herz on a different phone, she said she could not get a signal for about 25 minutes. Both phone have the dk17 rom and dk17 radio.
Stop putting stupid **** in your signature lines! Kak menja zaebala vsja eta drama!
Well it seems like I'm not the only one with the prob. After all this beta froyo updates......man ima go try out the above thread and see if works.... and thanks for understand about me making new thread...I know other ppl get mad so easy .....

a method to try
this falls under it worked for me.
i used the dialer code ##gpsclrx# . You will need your MSL# to do the clearing and it will delete all of your nav app. once doen i reinstalled google maps and had a gps lock in less then 10 sec. I didnt time it so not sure how long but it worked.
to get msl
$ adb shell
$ getprop ril.MSL

Then uninstall it??
Once you have rooted your phone you no longer need to keep it installed, its simply an app to root not to keep it rooted, unless im mistaken.
correct...once you use it you can uninstall it I would maybe keep a copy of the apk file on your sdcard just in case
I rooted my wifes vibrant using this app and once I was done rooting and flashing nero, the app was ininstalled/deleted after the flash was complete.
...I believe visionary+ shows up under whats using the battery on my MT4G as well (stock ROM still), but have never noticed a difference in battery drain.

Wipe Battery Stats / Fix Permissions (NOT WORKING)

In Clockwork Mod Recovery, I cannot Wipe Battery Stats or Fix Permissions. I can click on it but it will just click and then immediately return to the same menu, appearing that it isn't doing anything at all. I have flashed many different CWMR's since then and nothing has worked. Is there anything else to do?
If you have root explorer go into data/system/batterystatsbin and delete it. hope it helps but make sure that your battery is charged completely at 100%.

ahhhhh. this is a good temp fix. thanks d00d. hopefully someone can help with getting the ability to do this in CWM Recovery again though.
If you just rooted, be sure you still have Superuser app on your phone, gave me fits until I figured out it was missing. Nothing in CWM worked.

It didn't work in DL09 for the latter part of me having that either. I think I accidentally did something to it. Didn't work in 2.1 in the end, still doesn't work in 2.2.
Are you using adrynalyn's rom too? I don't know if it's specific to his rom but I'm having the same issue where I can't use fix_permissions.
I tried new busybox either but no go.

I'm not, I'm using stock DL30 but it was the same on DL09. I did something to it when it ran DL09 and it hasn't worked since.
when you wipe battery stats in cwr, it does not give you a confirmation that it was wiped but if you go into root explorer under data/system/ batterystatsbin it will give you the date and time that it was wiped last. hope it helps.

It used to give me some kind of action or confirmation, but I will check on that. Thanks
Did anyone ever find a fix or explanation for this? I'm having the same problem on my Thunderbolt.
The Fascinate doesn't use the same CWM as other phones. Rom manager doesn't play very nice with our phones. So I'm not sure how much it would help. I do applaud your searching skills though

Battery stats get wiped. There's just no confirmation of it.
If you don't believe me, mount data in cwm then used adb shell and cd to /data/system, ls | grep batterystats.bin and it should show up. Now wipe battery stats and run ls | grep batterystats.bin and it'll be gone.

I believe you but their did use to be a confirmation. When rooted and on stock I would get a confirmation "battery stats wiped".
As soon as I flashed a rom onto the Bolt it was gone.. now it just goes immedietly back to the the advanced screen like nothing even happened. Even on my DroidX... stock and custom rom I would receive the words "battery stats wiped" same as all other confirmations when you perform an action in CWR.
It's strange it dissappeared... but as long as it works.

Wipe Battery Stats

In recovery mode, does wipe battery stats display an output? When I select it, it just puts me back to the previous screen with no output of a success or anything.
Is this normal?
Thanks!
Mine does this too. Ive always wondered about it. Lets hope we can get an answer from a dev.
Green cwm is broken in some areas. either get red clockwork or wipe data /cache and reflash your rom at 100% battery.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I have the red cwm that jt just released and I dont get any output when wiping the battery neither.
How did you get the red CWM, might i ask?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942021
This is only if you are using group roms. I believe green still works for all the eclair stuff.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Any info on the original query?
I have flashed the "new_cwm" several times on my phone. Deleted the old update.zip before I did so.
Even after multiple flashings, when I boot into recovery all I get is the older green text screen.
Am I missing anything?
Anyone learn anything new?
This is still an issue. Anyone have resolution?

Mine has never displayed any output, but it's always worked correctly. I don't think it is something to worry about unless it's causing problems.

If it makes you feel better, you can follow these steps to do it manually:
1. Charge to 100%
2. Power off phone and continue charging until you get the 100% message
3. Boot up and use a root file explorer to navigate to Data>System and delete "battery stats.bin"
4. Reboot, drain battery to 5-10%
5. Charge to full again

Upgraded to LPY (ICS). No Lockscreen or Power Menu

I just upgraded to LPY (via Odin, no root) from a stock, unrooted GB. Now I no longer have a Lockscreen or a Power Menu. If I press the Power button, the phone turns off. No prompt, nothing.
If I sleep the phone, when I wake it will just go back to the last screen.
I verified in Security that it's set to swipe, and I also verified that I have "ON" set in /efs/imei/keystr.
[email protected]:/ $ cat /efs/imei/keystr
ON

I tried a factory reset, reflashing, and nothing has worked. Everything else is working just fine.
Any thoughts? I know other people have had this problem, and apparently for most people the issue was /efs/imei/keystr -- but apparently that's not my issue.
Any thoughts?
Did you go through the google account setup?
Also is the time and year selected correctly?

Come to think of it, it never showed the Google Account setup splash. After flashing and the first boot, it went straight to the home screen. I had to set account info manually through Settings...
And yes, the time is correct.

For what it's worth, when flashing back to GB everything works fine. Lockscreen, Power menu, no problems. It's just LPY...
For the hell of it, I flashed a non-rooted Multi-CSC GB. Changed my CSC to DBT and upgrading via Kies.
Same issue. Upgrade goes well, reboots, no lock screen, does not ask for Android setup/provisioning, and no power menu.
WTF?

If I do a Factory Data Reset via Recovery, it still does not prompt for Google setup.
Either way, there's still no Lockscreen or Power Menu. Regardless of how it's installed.

Really? Are you serious? Go away...
The same problem here.
Flashed the original firmware from sammobile and have no lockscreen (yes, I activated it in security settings) and also Google account setting nor the SIM PIN was asked when booting up.
Coming from a rooted GB LC1 and flashed with mobile Odin pro. I downloaded the firmware twice and reflashed 5 times (with wipe, without wipe,...).
Anyone has an idea?
Now back on a custom GB Rom, but would like to try the ICS.
Thanks in advance
Lars
Ok, here is the solution (don´t ask me, why this is necessary ):
- Download "Terminal Emulator" app from market
- open it
- type into the command:
su
echo -n ON > /efs/imei/keystr
sync
and voila, lockscreen and PIN question are there.
should device be rooted for that? I've tried with terminal emulator but after typing "su" command and hit enter it says "su not found"!
why i can't do a nandroid?
since i'm on ics i can't do nandroid backup?

su command means "superuser" which implicates you will indeed need root...
