hi guys!
HTC Italy had confirmed recently via twitter that bad news (anyway, we expect it)
LINK : http://twitter.com/HTCItalia/status/17429963594
It says that 2.1 update for HTC Tattoo is not planned just now, but really it says that we never see an official update from HTC. Bet that HTC engineers have encountered problems making work camera and radio...
Our only hope is in our awesome "RomCookers" (such as fyodor, ikxdf, jacob and much more). i will donate as soon as possible for me, the work of those men is fabulous!!

Does´n´t mean that much anyway. I´d rather have my rom from the devs here than HTC. Take for ex. the original froyo from HTC to Desire. It´s very buggy. In contrast the opendesire rom from AdamG is the nicest and cleanest rom I´ve ever seen.
Maybe 2.2 ...

No way... (Why would they bother with 2.2 if they haven't even lifted a finger for 2.1...)
I think that we won't see an update foot the tattoo, ever!
You can see the issues Htc has to face with sense and the hardware in the Kiljacken-Rom - overclocking made it useable, but still you are permanently running low on RAM. SenseUi in my opinion is the biggest problem and Htc isn't going to throw it over board just to give us eclair or froyo...

Question:Hello
Can you please show me , how i can share some pictures or other files with my friends, via bluetooth? I havent figured out?
ps: when you expect android 2.x to be available to upgrade my phone?
Asnwer:
Dear Mr. Q Thank you for contacting us, We apologize for the delay in answering your email, Kindly be informed that you will need to search on the Android market for a 3rd party application that could help you install this feature as it is not a default feature in the handset. As for the upgrade, currently there is no plan to upgrade your phone to Android 2.1. The result of our analysis showed that an upgrade to your phone may impact the user experience and we ultimately decided that an upgrade was not recommended. Your phone will still receive support, and we thank you for your patience and understanding. Please note that you can contact us via support line. For further details, please contact us on the following number: +35-1-800-814693 Best Regards, HTC Team http://www.htc.com

Notice i said android 2.X not 2.1

Hi Daniél, Thank you for contacting us regarding HTC Tattoo. Unfortunetely there is no planned Android 2.1 - 2.2 upgrade for the Tattoo. You are welcome to contact us again for further assistance. Best regards, Elsa H. HTC
2nd time I asked I mentioned that now when the newer phones like Desire got it's 2.2 and the older Hero got its 2.1 update, is there any plan for ANY update for the Tattoo?
Answer was August 6th 2010
Thank you for contacting us. Regarding your enquiry about Android 2.2: We cannot comment on what devices may or may not get an update just yet. Any announcements will be made through our Website, Facebook page and Twitter feed. Please keep an eye on these channels for any updates regarding your handset. I trust that this resolves your query, please do not hesitate to contact us again if required. Thanks for contacting HTC.
I think HTC have convenient forgotten that they ever made a device called Tattoo!

We, Russian users, started spamming HTC for 2.1, but we got the only reply that we won't get 2.1 because of perfomance lowerage. But such words they said about Hero, but the users fought for 2.1 and got it! Now, I think, it's our time. Yes, there is Wildfire with 2.2, but they CAN release the Tattoo firmware 2.1, they just don't WANT to do it. I ask all of you to join our war against HTC marketologists! We MUST get 2.1!!!

Ok, I'm in too... so, what's the plan? How to fight for 2.1 upgrade?
There's nothing you can do with fighting for an upgrade. HTC doesn't want to. You have to accept that. If you really want 2.x go to the development section of the forum. You will find a few roms there. They are not working perfectly (Camera and FM don't work and some minor bugs) but at least they work. If you want to do something for a perfect tattoo 2.x rom you have to help the developers in building it. If you're not skilled in developing yourselves you can help them as testers.
The NAND is almost there.....
If the NAND come out with Froyo 2.2, will you revert back?, or stayed with the DESIRE HD only SD run?
I think, I can't get back to Froyo2.2, because in DESIRE HD, there are so many good things, that i can't lose more; like Browser smooth, the account HTC.SENSE and many other good things.
You can do some things with the mobile phone remotely (forgot the mobile device at home? NP, turn to the htc website, login and read the messages and receiving mail in phone online, not very useful? Someone stole the cellphone? NP Log in and block the htc cellphone. He will be locked (ask for a password previously chosen by us) and automatically makes a call to our number one choice for those who have to return.
Of course, Based on the principle that we will have a build in Beta, with camera, and all things working well.
What is your opinion, NAND froyo 2.2 or Desire HD SD?
Good question, no......

To be honest there are hardly any questions in this section about Android development apart from the builds. This will continue to happen wether you like it or not
NAND froyo all the way.... love to get winmo off my phone, hopefully better battery life and no more g-sensor freezes, although the new kernels are making that problem "almost" non-existent.
Sense is alright but I prefer a cleaner rom.

Thats a VERY hard question. Im in the same bat as you, I absolutely love all the options in the new sense. If people start saying that there froyo nand build is running way better, ill probably go with it. But if its not too much of a difference, ill stay with Desire HD for awhile til they get a nand version of it.
we cant do both?
i dont see why we couldnt run 2 android builds when nand is complete...one on sd and one on nand...

What browser is on the Desire HD Rom that is so much better than the Android browser on Froyo 2.2?
i like DesireHD
but
Nand is better ;-)
cooooool Desire HD ROM on NAND I think it's the best and we wait
(((( Desire HD ))))
Who says you cant have both
Maybe when the NAND is released there will be an option to allow you to run a build off of SD card. If that is the case then you could have a NAND build of your choice and then run ACE build off of the SD.
I would hope this was an option anyway so it would allow me to "test" a new build for battery life etc. before flashing it to NAND. With all the builds popping up daily who knows whats next.....
Just have to wait and see....but I like choices
Let me guess you people want to tell the women at the club that two droids are better than one.
Nice question...
Yeah nice question to be asking in this moment of time, but if u remember last month we weren't even considering the idea of having the Desire HD ROM in our power, so who can tell us that when the NAND gets out some cooker doesn't make us a NAND of the Desire. Don't forget that its only a BETA, and maybe next month the official ROM gets out or we will be thinking of WM7 and Desire HD dual boot . This guys don't stop to amase me
I'll keep the Desire HD for now because of all you said, and because its just the best build i haver had. No SOD, no freezes (thanks to the new kernel) very fast internet (wifi, 3G and GPRS), best browser experience, smooth transitions between screens.
I'll wait to see what they will give us more but u can always have the Desire on the SD and try the Nand just for the sake of it and then decide what best for you
I have a stock N1 and my app seems to work fine on there..
But when the first person downloaded the app he said it failed on the EVO which is most likely running sense UI.
So it is a matter of trying to find someone with a sense ui phone and asking them to test?

I just tested it on a Desire running Froyo and Sense and it works fine.
It's true that the market filters apps, mainly based on the capabilities your app requests. For example, if your app requests access to GPS services, it will not appear in the market for anyone using a phone without GPS.
Check your app manifest.

hi Guys,
I've been using Desire HD or Desire Z series NAND roms just to get the internet pass through working on the phone. this works wonder with the HTC sync.. Sorry my friend...
It is a feature that is only available (ATM, at least) in Desire Z (maybe DHD too?).
This feature is very useful when you want to download big file to your device (such as download a game). This is useful if you dont have a wifi network.
My Xperia Arc (gingerbread) also lacks this feature
Cheers
I have just seen some wildfire s movies and the point is:
it's runneing gingerbread and it has a flip clock.
My question is: If the htc wildfire s has nearly the same things as the normal wildfire.
Can we (if the wildfire s is released) port gingerbread from the s version to ours.
Or will there be an update with the new sense and gingerbread.
Please could someone that know something about it say something to me, please.
And my second question is: Can someone already put the new sense in a rom.
I hope someone really know something about it.

It is not nearly the same. It is totally different. And, to get the new Sense, the code has to be released by HTC. Till that, there wont be a GB Sense Enabled ROM for the Wildfire.
Also, I am pretty sure with the release of the S, HTC will not conveniently forget the original Wildfire and probably not release any updates for it. Its basically an EOL Product now. Its the way the industry works.
After some monthes on the market every mobile phone is EOL. You are right!

If you really want gingerbread on wildfire, you can try Cyanogen 7. There is no htc sense with cyanogen though.

Simply because HTC apps require a framework that AOSP ROMS do not have as it is power consuming and is slow.

As djdevine2 stated above, porting Sense would be very hard or even impossible. Sense is like a bug that crawls really deep inside the Android OS. Eliminating is it hard, I imagine introducing it would be also very, very hard.
And not to mention the possible Legal issues that could appear
maybe there is hope
It has also been rumored that the HTC Wildfire will receive the recently released 2.3 Gingerbread update.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_Wildfire
This is just a rumor, but there is still hope.
Doesn't look so. If you look at the citation on that particular line, and, read that thread in another forum, there is nothing there to state that HTC has said anything about 2.3 on Wildfire. It is simply a speculative thread, and, points to CM7 for 2.3 on Wildfire.
"You can have your doubts about when your phone maker will finally get around to delivering an Android 2.3 update (March if you're with HTC, June if Samsung, 2017 if you're unfortunate enough to own a Sony Ericsson), but the smartphone dev community doesn't work that slowly. The guys who build custom ROMs just for the sheer pride of it have already begun work on delivering Gingerbread to owners of HTC's EVO 4G, Droid Eris, and Wildfire."
