Does anyone know if the htc sync music sync feature works with the latest version of itunes (10). I asked htc support but they didn't know.
I'm assuming it will but just want to double check.

iTunes 10 is not working using HTC Sync 3. iTunes playlist are not visseble.
iTunes 10 is working with HTC Sync 3.0 on my Orange-branded Desire. It's a good idea to set up a playlist which is smaller than your SD card, however, as my 13GB playlist didn't like the 6GB free once actually transferring.
That said, it took about 30 minutes for the playlists to appear in HTC Sync after being created - initially it appeared blank. It may have started working after a manual library update (eg. choose folder in iTunes) again.
hope that helps.

I deleted all of my music and incidentally, the playlists from my storage card and set the X1 up for autosync with WMP11. The music and the playlists went into directories on my storage card called "Music" and "Playlists". The playlists appear in the multimedia player accessed from the spb panel but do not appear in the sony media panel! I found out that if you create a playlist through the Media Panel, these gointo the device itself under "My Documents/My Music and these are not compatible with the media player versions - great!
Anyone know of a fix for this as I dont want to recreate all of my playlists so that I can use them in the media panel!
Regards,
Alan
I just discovered the same thing. This is a annoying. I have set up several auto playlists in WMP11 and they sync just fine with my other MP3 (which I hoped that the X1 could replace, even bought 16Gb microSD card for this). Now I have to recreate these playlists again on the X1.
I had the same issue. Decided to go the apple way. Got all of my music and playlists setup on iTunes. Installed Pocket Tunes for the sync portion and it copied all of my music and itunes playlists to my SD card. So far, it's been very very stable, keeps in sync, the playlists are recognized by SE media panel and most other winmo media players because they're standard .m3u format.

I have been working on this all weekend. After syncing a small playlist it all seemed to work. Then I started to re-rate all 2000+ songs in my library (as WMP does not store the ratings in the MP3 tags, iTunes did not import those ratings) as I often use playlists based on ratings. I finally started to sync all my music and pocket tunes sync keeps crashing This is very annoying.
Does anyone have another solution to get your MP3 library synchronized on your Xperia with working playlists in the Media Panel?
P.S. I also tried S2P. It look great, but it keeps crashing as my library is over 8Gb.
What version of windows are you currently running? I'm on XP and my version of Pocket Tunes is 4.1.2045 . Another option is to get the free windows version of Salling Media Sync, it'll sync your iTunes library as well as playlists, but to get it to work you have to switch your USB to PC settings so that your phone works as a mass storage device and bypasses active sync.

I am using Vista Business 32 bit. I am currently testing Salling Media Sync right now. I had it first on ActiveX USB to PC setting, which gave problems. I just discovered that I have to switch it and am now testing it with the mass storage device setting. For me that would not be a problem, as I generally sync my Outlook and files either via Bluetooth or GPRS/HDSPA.
Here's something else I found, I may try it out tomorrow http://ita.sourceforge.net/ , it's called iTunes Agent.

I saw that one, but you can only synchronize ONE playlist with your device, not multiple playlists that will also be available as multiple playlists on the device itself.
I think your issue with all these sync programs is Vista compatibility. If you get a chance, try XP, if you can't, try running xp on a virtual machine within your Vista install.
Another thing you can try is, right click on your pocket tunes executable go to properties and do a "run as administrator" on it, also select the compatibility mode to Windows XP, hopefully, it won't crash the next time.
Right, basically I got my leo 2 weeks ago, its a UK one on Vodafone. Because I have a mac I brought Missing Sync for Windows Mobile in order to sync it. It was great because it let me sync everything fine, even my itunes playlists. After the first time I Synced it I went onto the HTC sense music tab, onto the playlists part of it and my playlists were there but they were empty
I then went on windows media player, updated the library and my playlists showed up, had all the right tracks in them and played fine, i checked the Sense music player and the playlists were still empty.
The .asx files are on the phone here:
Storage Card/My Documets/My Music/Missing Sync
and this is what it looks like inside the missing sync folder (attached .jpg)
I was wondering if maybe the problem is where the .asx files are, but I am probably completely wrong.
So if any of you can help me I will be very grateful, thanks.
Has anyone found a reliable, free (or cheap) solution for syncing content to their desire?
Ideally I would like to share the SD card via wifi but I know that might not be possible.
Next best option would be an app that runs on the PC (win 7 64 bit) and an android app to sync the content.
Nearest I have found is Missing Sync but they want $40 (£28) for it which is ludicrous!
I have tried searching but not found anything.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Although it doesn't do this over wifi, doubleTwist syncs all that.
For down/uploading files to sd card from/to your pc there is one called web sharing, great app.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
you could use an ftp server like swiftp on your phone and a client on your pc like filezilla. they're both free btw...
you would have to get yourself an app that rescans the sd card and adds the new files to the music library, but if i'm not mistaken there's a free one for that too
I'm using NextApp WebSharing Media/File Sync to do this. Try the free version first, the full version is $2.99 and honestly is excellent.
Gives the person full access to your SD card through any PC/laptop using WiFi. I transfer movies and files this way daily. All protected.

iTunes Agent is a small program which enables you to synch your iTunes library or single playlists to any storage device. I don't know about videos and images, but it works great with music. Assuming you are using iTunes of course.
/edit: this is only one way though..

Does this work over wifi?
I've been trying to get a program call aFileSync to work.
it syncs through ftp via wifi with many sync options.. (looks good)
but I'm having trouble getting it to connect to my ftp (im not that ftp savy, I'm using filezilla server )
HTC Sync v3.0xxx will do this...currently seems to work and released only for Wildfire. It actually syncs with your iTunes library (one-way only though and sadly on Wifi neither - PC to Desire, don't know about Mac version)...
tunesync is my option of choice, over wifi, syncs selected playlists from itunes automatically when you are on the same network as the pc.
there is a demo on the market too.

I've just given this a go.. it works pretty good.
but it has also reminded me why I hate iTunes, its a pig of thing..
It would be nice if they could make it work with out itunes, it doesn't need to be any over the top, just a simple folder tree of all your artists and albums and check box next to each folder.
I've just found androsync which is similar but it can work from a simple m3u playlist file. I'm going to give it a go now.
and I also have to uninstall iTunes and plethora of other virus like apps it installs with it..
I've been trying to find an easy way to sync my Itunes library on a Windows 7 computer. I can use Isyncr and it works well, but only does music, no podcasts etc. It does do album art which is of course great!
I wanted to DoubleTwist but cannot for the life of me get it to work. So, option B, and I believe a much better option than both above is Salling Media Sync. After a whole lot of trial and error, I finally got it to recognize my Droid X and works great!
So, the key is very simple. Instead of setting the USB connection to mass storage as one would think, set it to "Windows Media Sync" and voila! It will sync your individual playlists, cover art, podcasts and photos!!! Seems to be working great as far as I can tell.
Please let me know if others find this to be working and if anyone has input on DoubleTwist and why it does not seem to work, feel free to add.
doubletwist is what i use. doubletwist can use any mass storage device, whats the hold up. does it not detect it or you just not sure how to sync it? just need to have it sync with your itunes then select what playlist or all music to sync

It does not recognize my device, actually it does not recognize any of my devices including my Iphone, Blackberry curve or Droid X. But, strangely, my wife's laptop does recognize all of them. So, it is something unique to my computer and I simply can not figure out what.
And, on another note Salling is not recognizing my Droid after the initial sync! UGH!! Its got to be my computer, but WHY!!!
Beta version adds Droid X support
The Droid X is not supported in the stable release.
Setup Salling Media Sync to use beta updates.
Update to beta.
Connect and set Droid X to USB Mass Storage Mode.
Voila.
I agree i have tried both double twist, isync and 1 more sync mate all have their shortcomings and you can waste a lot of time trying to figure them out . I found Salling Media Sync to work perfectly with my imac and HTC Desire perfectly
Apparently HTC has release 3.0.5387 of their somewhat crappy Sync application for the HTC Wildfire. In my hopes of finding a better sync application for Outlook I tried to run it with my Evo. Unfortunately when I tried to sync just the calendar and contacts it said there wasn't enough memory (even though I had 5 gigs showing available in their graph). So I limited it to just the calendar items and it did sync but it created a ton of duplicates and other issues (good thing I made a back up of my Outlook pst file beforehand).
So just a word of warning these two don't play nice together right now (not that they advertised that) and probably best to wait until HTC gets around to updating it for the Evo specifically.
i have the latested OTA and SYNC and have no problems
I tried it again after uninstalling the old Sync software/driver, rebooting, reinstalling new driver/sync and it's still complaining about not having enough memory to sync my People. Not a big deal, I'll just revert to the old one for now. I'm using the latest OTA 2.2 rooted rom as well.
move some of your appliacations over to your sd card that is one of the new features with froyo. as well look for an app called historyEraser and delete all your history on your phone to create some room
I could get it work by using version 3.0.5372. Uploaded 2 playlists from iTunes, some pictures and all worked perfectly (Just give a time for Sync to detect your Evo)
Works GREAT for me. Syncs documents, bookmarks, music from zune (through windows media player), etc. Loving it.
