HTC Leo Problem With Playlists - HD2 General

Right, basically I got my leo 2 weeks ago, its a UK one on Vodafone. Because I have a mac I brought Missing Sync for Windows Mobile in order to sync it. It was great because it let me sync everything fine, even my itunes playlists. After the first time I Synced it I went onto the HTC sense music tab, onto the playlists part of it and my playlists were there but they were empty
I then went on windows media player, updated the library and my playlists showed up, had all the right tracks in them and played fine, i checked the Sense music player and the playlists were still empty.
The .asx files are on the phone here:
Storage Card/My Documets/My Music/Missing Sync
and this is what it looks like inside the missing sync folder (attached .jpg)
I was wondering if maybe the problem is where the .asx files are, but I am probably completely wrong.
So if any of you can help me I will be very grateful, thanks.

Media Panel doesn't recognise playlists...

I deleted all of my music and incidentally, the playlists from my storage card and set the X1 up for autosync with WMP11. The music and the playlists went into directories on my storage card called "Music" and "Playlists". The playlists appear in the multimedia player accessed from the spb panel but do not appear in the sony media panel! I found out that if you create a playlist through the Media Panel, these gointo the device itself under "My Documents/My Music and these are not compatible with the media player versions - great!
Anyone know of a fix for this as I dont want to recreate all of my playlists so that I can use them in the media panel!
Regards,
Alan
I just discovered the same thing. This is a annoying. I have set up several auto playlists in WMP11 and they sync just fine with my other MP3 (which I hoped that the X1 could replace, even bought 16Gb microSD card for this). Now I have to recreate these playlists again on the X1.
I had the same issue. Decided to go the apple way. Got all of my music and playlists setup on iTunes. Installed Pocket Tunes for the sync portion and it copied all of my music and itunes playlists to my SD card. So far, it's been very very stable, keeps in sync, the playlists are recognized by SE media panel and most other winmo media players because they're standard .m3u format.

I have been working on this all weekend. After syncing a small playlist it all seemed to work. Then I started to re-rate all 2000+ songs in my library (as WMP does not store the ratings in the MP3 tags, iTunes did not import those ratings) as I often use playlists based on ratings. I finally started to sync all my music and pocket tunes sync keeps crashing This is very annoying.
Does anyone have another solution to get your MP3 library synchronized on your Xperia with working playlists in the Media Panel?
P.S. I also tried S2P. It look great, but it keeps crashing as my library is over 8Gb.
What version of windows are you currently running? I'm on XP and my version of Pocket Tunes is 4.1.2045 . Another option is to get the free windows version of Salling Media Sync, it'll sync your iTunes library as well as playlists, but to get it to work you have to switch your USB to PC settings so that your phone works as a mass storage device and bypasses active sync.

I am using Vista Business 32 bit. I am currently testing Salling Media Sync right now. I had it first on ActiveX USB to PC setting, which gave problems. I just discovered that I have to switch it and am now testing it with the mass storage device setting. For me that would not be a problem, as I generally sync my Outlook and files either via Bluetooth or GPRS/HDSPA.
Here's something else I found, I may try it out tomorrow http://ita.sourceforge.net/ , it's called iTunes Agent.

I saw that one, but you can only synchronize ONE playlist with your device, not multiple playlists that will also be available as multiple playlists on the device itself.
I think your issue with all these sync programs is Vista compatibility. If you get a chance, try XP, if you can't, try running xp on a virtual machine within your Vista install.
Another thing you can try is, right click on your pocket tunes executable go to properties and do a "run as administrator" on it, also select the compatibility mode to Windows XP, hopefully, it won't crash the next time.

Syncing Music

I synced all my music with windows media player but then realised how messed up the tags were (artists in particular) so i changed them all and went to resync but windows media player just says "already on device" when i resync.
Is there any better programs to sync music or would u recommend just moving them over manually?
Sorry if this has been asked before but i searched and couldn't see it anywhere.
Thanks
Hey,
Delete the music from WMP on your PC and then try to sync.
If this fails, connect your phone to the your PC and ensure you have hidden files showing and delete WMPInfo file.
Hope that helps
Man.
Ooo that kinda worked but it ended up duplicating the folders and songs of the artists that i renamed though .
I'm not liking WMP for syncing, just having so many little problems with it, think i might just copy the whole lot over manually, seems less hassle if there is nothing better available.
Thanks

Music syncs but won’t play

I have a problem with getting music that I have synchronised from Windows Media Player 12 (Windows 7) to play on my TD2. I have the 6.5 Rom but the same problem existed with 6.1. I have tried this on two Windows 7 PCs with the same results.
I connect using Windows Mobile Device Centre and then select tracks in WMP to synchronise. They are converted and then sync fine and appear on my TD2 (internal memory or storage card) in what looks like the correct format, but although the Artist, Album Name and Track Name are recognised by Windows Explorer, the tracks appear in the various Media Player sort-by views (Album, Artist etc) as ‘Unknown Album’ and ‘Unknown Track’. When I try to play the tracks it comes up in either the basic Media Player or the HTC version but will not play and just says ‘Error’.
Oddly, if I just copy the track files from my Server directly to the TD2 Storage Card without converting them they play fine. However, as all of my music is stored on my Server as Lossless this direct transfer option is not practical because of the very large file sizes involved.
Also odd is that if I use an old Windows XP PC with Windows Media Player 11, everything syncs and plays as it should.
A Forum and Google search on this has not turned up anything, but I am hoping that one of you will have an idea as to what the problem and solution is.
Solved this for myself, but others might find the solution helpful.
If I use ActiveSync to connect to my PC the files sync but will not play. If I select the Disk Drive connection option they sync AND play fine. Presumably a problem/bug in Windows 7 ActiveSync (Mobile Device Center).

WMP12 + WM6.5 = No Media Sync ?

I have a big problem with my Trinity...
I've flashed it with a WM6.5 ROM (dont remember which, just that the rar is named WM_06.5.21857.rar) and I'm an active user of the sync features, both ActiveSync and the sync in Windows Media Player.
The problem is when I try to sync music to it through WMP12 (I've got Windows Se7en) it transfers a couple of the songs and then stops. No error message or anything... And there is plenty of space left for the music on the miniSD...
And I cant transfer the files manually as I've made an automatic playlist with a couple of rules and a 200mb limit, so I never have the same music on the phone...
Has anyone of you had this problem before and how did you solve it?
Cant find any information about it anywhere on the net (spent the last 3 hours googleing for a solution)...
All help is appreciated!

same problem here - use WM5Storage as workaround
I experienced the same problem.
Now I use WM5 Storage on my phone to map the microSD card directly to my PC (as if it was in a card reader), instead of via Windows Mobile Device Centre.
With this set-up the sync is much faster and does not stop after a couple of songs.
Thanks! Never thought of that :O
Will try that to se if it works smoother
EDIT! Just noticed that WM5 Storage wasn't in this ROM, but will try Card Export
EDITEDIT! It worked VERY well using Card Export
Music folder structure on SD card
Do you also have your music synced into the microSD/Music folder?
In my case I can either tell WMP12 to not set up any folder structure, I which case all my mp3s get simply dumped in the microSD root.
Alternatively, I can have WMP to create a folder structure, in which case I end up with getting Music/Artist name/Album name, which is more than useless.
I'd prefer Music/Album name.
ANybody knows how to get this?

HTC Sync 3 and iTunes 10

Does anyone know if the htc sync music sync feature works with the latest version of itunes (10). I asked htc support but they didn't know.
I'm assuming it will but just want to double check.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
iTunes 10 is not working using HTC Sync 3. iTunes playlist are not visseble.
iTunes 10 is working with HTC Sync 3.0 on my Orange-branded Desire. It's a good idea to set up a playlist which is smaller than your SD card, however, as my 13GB playlist didn't like the 6GB free once actually transferring.
That said, it took about 30 minutes for the playlists to appear in HTC Sync after being created - initially it appeared blank. It may have started working after a manual library update (eg. choose folder in iTunes) again.
hope that helps.
