yesterday i have to use Windows Mobile and i rebootet my Android so that i could start Windows Mobile. In Windows some installed Apps would not start and gave me a error message like "file not found or broken". I tryed to fix it by formating SD Card, delete and copy Android with its whole Folders and Files. But nothing helped. Only a Hard Reset of Windows Mobile bzw. my HD2 could fix it.
This happend about 4-5 times and allways the same. And it was not the first reboot of Android. Maybe about 10-15 Times the Reboot and restart i could not find any problems. but sometimes this mysterious thing happens to me.
did someone get the same problem and know how to fix?
Because you deleted your winmo apps that stored in SD card. Or you used a new card for android. So I hope u have a backup.

i try to explain the way i use my phone with winmob and android so that someone could understand what i mean
i have froyostone 3.1 from darkstones website. on my sdcard are some folders like programme, musik ... and in the root of the sdcard i put the whole android folder. inside this folder i start clrcrd to fix the audio prob and then haret to start android. sometimes i have to use winmob because i have bought navigon a few month ago and i dont like google navi. to get it work i shutdown android and restart my hd2 to boot up winmob. there i could use navigon or some games and other features. and sometimes the gfx of winmob looks a bit ... dont know how to explain ... normaly a hd2 has a resolution of 480x800 and if my winmob starts to break it looks like its resolution goes down to maybe 400x667 or something like this. the gfx is not realy bad and i have to take a exact look to see the differences. and then if i start any app witch is stored on my sd card it could not be startet.
the exact error message (sorry only german because i have german language)

i think android uses some hardware drivers inside winmob and sometimes at the moment of shutdown it causes some strange errors or something.
Yes, it happened to me also ..
for now, i stopped using android
I had to hard reset my winmo THREE times and you know what, even after
hard resets, my winmo freezes and reboots at least once everyday .. something
got REALLY MESSED UP !

I upgraded to 1.13 Bigstorage ROM, and installed CAB-Acrosoft-MMS-2.5.0.28-DEU-MagicianAKU2.6-13May05.CAB out of MDACompact_GER_1.13.129 Extrom
Now the strange thing, with the old Arcsoft MMS 2.0 there were some folders in Messaging for MMS, just like the folders for SMS.
Now with new version 2.5 there are no folders for MMS. However I have a menu item to configure the MMS server.
Am I missing something? How do I read or write MMS?

to get your wanted mms folder install the included version of callerID (Caller_ID_Magician_T-Mobile_GER_RC22.CAB)
if you like to prevent the start of callerid you should deactivate it into autostart and notification database
as alternate you can install an older version of acrosoft-mms which provides the mms folder as standalone

I guess that he wanted to install it without installing CallerID... ;-)
BTW:
What do you mean by "deactivate it in the notification database"? How can this be done ?

but the mms-version from the 1.13.129 build needs some dll' from callerid to work
while installing callerid set some autostart-entrys. if you remove the entry in the win/autostart folder and restart the device you'll see several times later a running callerid in mem
this happens because callerid set an entry in the notification queue, over a timer callerid check whether his own system process is running, if not callerid would be restarted and a link to the autostart folder would be created too
there was lots of tools which can view/edit the notification: checkNotifications, memmaid, apNotificationList (google)

I just hard-resetted my device to get rid of this unholy Arcsoft MMS 2.5 Version.
Installed the 2.0.0.22 from an older extrom, and voila, everything is working as expected.
The only 3 thinge I have installed from extrom:
1. Arcsoft MMS
2. Java
3. BTHUSB Patch.
I am already fat, so at least my Magician has to be lean ;-)

Well... I've been using MMS version 2 and above for quite some time (upgraded several times) and never had to install the callerid.
the problem persist with CAB-Acrosoft-MMS-2.5.0.28-DEU-Magician, 2.0.x works fine without adds (...maybe videomms by someone)

you backup your current rom through activesync, the tool can be download here, run the Get_NB0.bat and the resulting nbo can be renamed to flash.dio you can use to restore original rom

sorry you can't image the device in the same sense as imaging a pc. Technically you can backup the file system(imgfs) too but you can't restore it to the device
the method I told you above only backup the os image (ROM), to backup the data you need to use separate program such as spb backup instead.

Hi,
Not really ... SK Tools is to backup data, not programs and settings. You'll need to lay on hands anyhow if you flash a new image ( i can recommend v31 build 21888 ) . Reinstalling programs and making settings is part of the life of a flasher.

My HD2 is very slow after a restart or a soft reset. This is very annoying. I have installed a task manager and the CPU Usage says that Idle process is between 90-98% or something. Further nothing strange.
I have to use the HD2 at least 15 minutes before he gets to his normal speed. Now he is at normal speed and this says the task manager: (when the HD2 is slow the task manager is almost the same)

Hi DJ-jan. Have you installed any apps to your phone. Some apps, or combination of apps can cause problems.
Have you done any modding to the phone. Was the phone like this when you first start using it. If it was fine at the beginning, I'll guess it is something that has been installed.
Try removing some programs, one at a time to see if it fixes the problem.
If all else fails try and hard reset the device.

Take the SD card out and restart it. If it's the same then you probably need a hard reset. If it's better then it's either software on the card that's causing the issue, or it's the card itself. It may just be a slow card, or it may be knackered. Do you have a different card you could copy everything onto and try that, just to rule it out?

Mmm, i tried this. The HD2 seems to be a little bit faster without the SD card but is far from the original speed.
I could do a hard reset, but then ill loose all my institutions. Is there a program or something where i can export all this? I know MyPhone, but thats only for SMS, contacts and stuff...

wat is lookout mobile security dan? is dat een anti virus iets ofzo? kan zijn dat die elke keer bij het opstarten alles gaat scannen...

I personally use MyPhone and just reinstall everything again, but that's just me. I do know that there are quite a few popular backup solutions out there, but someone else will have to advise you on them as I know nothing about them.
I can advise you on how to back up your settings for Co0kie's Home Tab though lol

Nee dat doet hij niet, is inderdaad een virusscanner.
Cant find a backup program wich also backups programmes/apps and stuff. Someone can help me?

sbp backup can do that but backing up applications and restoring them isnt recommended when changing roms.. i experienced that myself.
i just use myphone to back up everything and reinstalling the apps isnt much work, most custom roms have built in installers where you can just put ur .cabs in 1 dir and its automaticly installed

HD2 Boot up
I understand that boot up times may increase with additional installation of apps. However, is it possible to edit the boot up file or registry like in a PC? I would love to be rid of the T-mobile Animation & Windows Logo and go right to Sense UI. My phone works great even with all the apps. I just want to shorten the boot up time if possible. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
Just use PIM Backup for sms contacts etc.. my htc is a little slow too but it slwos down after i reinstall sms and contacts.. weird

right seriously i am at the end of my tether. Ive installed windows 7 on my HD2 and got the activation code off MS. But when i try to download apps from the market i either get error code e101b00b otr there is not button to download the app. Is this something to do with making the registry think i have a HD7? If so can someone please find me a dumb ass guide to changing it??

I think there is a problem with the marketplace atm, users on native wp7 devices have the same issue.
On a side note did anyone have there intall button missing from the marketplace?
Just noticed that the install button is missing, I was about to reinstall when I saw this. I hope you are right that this is a wp7 market issue. WP7 HD2 here running otherwise perfectly.

Yes some other people are having the issue with it not installing and i have the issue with no install button
I've got the same problem, no download button anymore. An app tries to update, but it's only queued...
So I tried downloading them from the ZUNE Software, but I can't log in.
Check your connection, and allow the Zune service to bypass your firewall

Marketplace is now working for me [edit]or not[/edit], but still can't log in with ZUNE. Weird...
I can click on 'install', but once I click on 'buy' it remains on the waiting animation.
The app that tries to update downloads up to 100% then stops and remain stucked @ 100%

I've some problems with my newly acquired HU. First and foremost, I can not tell what model I have. I bought it from an aliexpress store (wondefoo) and it should've been android 12 but apparently that's faked in the displayed settings.
The problem I have, is that everytime I start my car after it was off for more than 30 mins, the internal media volume is set to 0 and the date and time is reset. The Chinese Idrive controller that came with my device doesn't work properly. The buttons are wrongly mapped (each button does something different than what it should do, menu button triggers nav button for example) and the wheel rotation isn't translated at all. Seller isn't helping at all and the update I got sent didn't change anything. I attached the Infos of my device. I think the mcu firmware might be causing the audio volume and time resets but I can't find anything for my device online.
