According to the information we have received so is the update of the Android 2.2
the Galaxy's planned to be launched now in late September
s / October.

i was wondering when update (2.2 Froyo) for Samsung Galaxy S I9000 comes to Norway \ Scandinavia?

I really hope that's true. I live in Denmark. So do this abbly for dk as well??

My title on the thread was wrong.
Samsung Electronics Nordic gave me the info about 2.2 froyo release for Samsung Galaxy S

i couldn't find the system spec on google
could any Nordic fan, post some hardware info about the phone?

THERE IS NO PHONE, just that it will be a update for 2.2 froyo for samsung galaxy s at the end of sep and start of oct

Not quite sure if you're joking or not, AllGamer, but as OP said; The Nordic countries, the northwestern European countries of Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden, Denmark), as well as Iceland and Finland..

going into all 4 of the sites they all show the same model of phone and advertizing the features, but there was no spec posted for the phone shown
glanted not having a clue what the page says, might not even be related to the phone shown on the page

It just takes you to a page for the Samsung Wave S8500

What is your point, really?
If the Nordics get the FroYo update to their Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000's (which is the "generic" European version) in the late September (week 39) or early October (weeks 40-41), it is advantage to us.
We just hope (fingers crossed), that if it arrives (I don't trust that schedule), there are the most bugs solved.

According to Samsung Arabia facebook page: Official Froyo is next week

I posted on Samsung Mobile Arabia wall in facebook and they replied by announcing next week as the time to officially release the Froyo 2.2

Well yes Samsung have said early November, but they have said other dates before and not turned up with anything....

Don't stick on dates, dates can chages!
Stick with "when it's out for real on kies". So far, it hasn't and that's all!

Well it has but got pulled out of kies. Well it was unofficially official

since when samsung arabia got a lead of info before anything else
i dont have high hopes anyway but oh well

Never was out in most of europe, asia, america. RegHack doesn't make it "official"!

I want to, but i just can not beleieve it Samsung are an awful company, they have improved their quality a lot, but the support for the products is awful, anyway 15 years ago it was a bad idea to buy a Samsung anything, now it still is a bad one. I will never ever even think of purchasing any their products again

I updated the KiES but it still says that the tab is updated to latest firmware..

@Malicieux - dude, do not expect it to pop up first in Bulgaria, I still do not believe that there will be an update for us, but if i am wrong, i would not wait for it to be rolled out by Samsung Bulgaria ...

Just received the Kies update and when connect to my P1010 it says the S/W version in your phone is not an official version when in fact it is the original. I did do a couple of temp rooting with z4root.
Notes that the version is: PDA:KC6 / CSC:KC6(XAR)
Thoughts?

i got the same message on mine. someone else on another thread got the same thing on an un-altered P1000, so I'm hoping it's a sign that GB is indeed on it's way.

Going to attempt an update as soon as I get home- Anyone else have any news on this?

Also no gingerbread update for P1010 here in Germany... =(

Samsung proves it again and again ... never buy Samsung, actually all these updates saga leaves a bad taste for Android, a colleague of mine is a customer of the Fruit Company and he does not have to live this whole ordeal, everything just works, all of the updates come on time and samsung does not produce the phone for his OS of choise.

very good.... I wait for ICS SGS2 ITALY!

Don't have high hopes for Turkey though... Usually it is a forgetten country. Even SGS don't have over 2.3.3 very first initial release...

Sammobile are notorious for being wrong with their "mail". I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. Not saying it won't happen on that date, just surprised people would believe it purely because that site said it was true

good thing is they released update
they release 4.2 in India after 6 months
because they had to sale their tab 3 (especially 8inch tab)

I dont have a indian tab, i just see the rom released at Samsung live update.

Anything new in the update? I'm getting errors in Kies and the OTA says too many roll outs already happening. All I read was the notification bar is back on normal size, google drive is a built in app and that's about it. Any one of the Indian tab holders updated it?

Apart from the fact that it's not 4.1.2, its a good update. Notification panel is broad again and the tablet feels faster.

I got the update installed yesterday night. Yet to see what is better in this update. Gives some hope to me that Samsung is still supporting this model.
