Thanks for the guide, however when i use total commander, extended rom is shown with the same symbol as storage card and I cannot get the mail programme to save attachments to the real storage card as the universal thinks the extended rom is the storage card.

How to copy (save) contacts to the memory card?

Is it possible at all?
Could be great if I'll be able to copy (save) sms and/or e-mail messages that way too, but this is not so important...
I've tried to search the forum, but going blind and can't find answer...
Please. help me...
Thanks in advance
You need the latest version of the SIM Manager.
Here yah go:
Thanks!
I've copied contacts to SIM not to the memory card, but at least they are secure now!

Use this simple app http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-ns-contacts-backup-v1-0.html

Hmm.. how did it do that? There are other informations that a SIM card can't handle, e.g. Home phone, mobile phone of a particular contact? They give two seperate entries? How about restoring?
Anyway, a simplier way to do here

Mail Attachment... How to transfer to storage card???

I unlocked my Ext ROM then configured my Mail Attachment to be stored in the Storage Card, BUT instead of directing to my Storage Card, the Mail Attachment went to my Ext ROM.
Does anyone have the registry tweak to configure my Storage Card to be the default Mail Attachment folder instead of my Ext ROM???

Same problem here. Till I unlocked the external rom all was fine. Tried to search the forum ( 9th button......!!!!!) but no help. Surely there must a tweak.
Noob guess?
I haven't unlocked mine yet, but I remember reading that once unlocked you have 2 storage cards(storage card and then storage card2) I don't remember which one is which ie. unlocked ROM or storage card. Does that make any sense?
My O2 cents
YES, I had searched too. I found a few thread but NO SOLUTIONS:
1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=275968&highlight=mail+attachment
2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=258336&highlight=mail+attachment

My theory is the MAIL APPLICATION defaults to the VERY FIRST storage card it finds. Since the name of the ExtROM is beginning with the letter "E", it preceeds the name of the Storage Card (letter "S"). So if we can find the registry to change the name of the Extended ROM to something like X-ROM, then the MAIL APPLICATION will find the Storage Card first before the Extension ROM. This is my theory.
Can anyone suggest something?

Actually it will come out as ExtendedROM and Storage Card.
The Storage Card and Storage Card 2 only happens if you try to mess with the Mail Attachment and trying to force it to go to the Storage Card, so you will end up with 3 folders: ExtendedROM, Storage Card, and Storage Card 2. Then you're screwed because all your shorcut icons installed to the card is unable to find the original location. So be careful unlocking the Ext ROM then setting the Mail Attachments to your storage card. You have to choose either one to work to avoid the renaming issue.

did you try sk tools???

No. I just did a hard reset and just used my SD Card. I wanted to use the extended ROM to run a few apps that needed to boot up fast after a soft reset. But since I can't use my SD Card as the default Mail Attachment storage area if I have Unlocked my Ext ROM, I opted to just use my storage card instead.

i guess there is no harm trying it then....it does allow you to choose where to save the mail attachment (down to the folder level)
but i have never tested this function...anoter prob that might come is when your battery goes down to less than 5% or you want to remove your SD card

I did not know SKTools have this function. I'll investigate more about it.
I recently bought a 4GB SD Card, so having my Mail Attachments go in there is OK. One downside is it takes a little longer for the Universal to scan everything in there, that is why after a soft reset there is slight delay in boot up time because of the big memory to read. I wanted to bypass this by installing all that needs to be scan fast in the Ext ROM, unfortunately the Mail Attachment issue cropped up.
