Still buggy after OCLF... Normal? - Vibrant General

So I just got the Vibrant and installed the OCLF root/lag fix. I notice that just scrolling from screen to screen, its still a little hesitant/not smooth scrolling. Is that normal? or is that not what the lag fix is suppose to help with?

So I've only had my phone a week or so and I haven't noticed this lag everyone seems so concerned about it. When does it occur?
I've tried a few and found Chainfire's to be the best so far (v1.8).

I can't say I noticed a ton of lag before trying any of these fixes (although I do have ~200 apps installed) but after CF's fix my phone just flies.

Mines just as fast as the video without the fix, I came from a n1 with 2.2 on cyanogen rom and this phone is just as fast. I've been running this same rom since release, rooted and have over 120 apps installed. My market is easily just as fast as the dudes video in the OP.... maybe I'm lucky, or I don't know. I did a fix and didn't realize a difference .
I'd like to see a side by side comparison with a sgs with the lag fix and one without... then again I don't have a gps issue either, well its useable easy.. use it daily.

ApeX & Liberty 1.5 = Lag, but Stock & Fission != Lag???

I'm not sure what's causing this problem, but since I've been running Liberty 1.5 and ApeX 1.4 I've been having my phone freeze for around a second, then continuing like nothing happened. I've tried SBFing with the .320 then .340, but once I install the ROMs the lag is back. Anyone else have this problem with these ROMs?
What are you doing when it does this? There will be some lag periodically without any rom even stock.
If I'm typing into any text field, scrolling through menus on the phone or in the Market, or playing games. They're pretty annoying...
I have had this too. Sometimes when unlocking the screen, or clicking on a widget. It locks up from 2-10 seconds. Annoying.
well from my experience i have noticed lag after awhile with about any rom. nothing to the extent of what you are describing but after awhile the phone does seem to slow down. although i can say that Apex 1.4 produces the least lag compared to the other roms that i've tried. Tranq 3.7 was pretty good as well. all of the liberty and fissions i've tried have all become fairly sluggish though. just my .02

Try Zephyr1988 scripts http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1710233

Try reinstalling the ROM with all wipes. I assure you lockscreen has absolutely no lag, even with 300Mhz minimum CPU (will post a video in a while)

As i say, when i move to circle 1-2 second lag is gone but first 2 sec its like 3-4 fps...
Edit: I ask other users too they got this lag too... Maybe its about screen.. My phone has atmel...
It's inherent to the OS. There is nothing you can do.

That's a good point... maybe it's really a problem with AMTEL screens... I have synaptics, and, as you can see in this video, I have absolutely no lag whatsoever :S

Thats hurt Thanks anyway
I have a synaptics touch and I also have lag.
That YouTube video is useless because it's obvious that if you don't have lag with the screen on, it not simply locking the screen that it will get lagged.
As far as I know it's been like this forever and there are several topics discussing this.
If the phone enters deep sleep, sometimes the touch events will lag a lot and it seems to stop detecting multi touch points. Sometimes locking and unlocking seems to avoid that problem.
I have a PIN unlock and this really bugs me but it's been like this forever, so I take it as a consequence of owning budget phones.

Not really, my phones sleeps like a baby, and I never experience any lags... I don't know what the problem is, but I have never noticed it. Also, I use use init.d scripts, and they don't seem to have any adverse effects whatsoever. Don't know how to help, but I'm sure this is not a general problem...

[I9505]BMGA Lags

I updated few days ago from MDM to MGA BTU.
However things got worse actually. I don't mind the smearing at all, i love the true blacks on this phone.
But now i experience more often stuttering while scrolling the apps drawer, in MDM i didn't have it so often (very very rare). It starts to annoy me very much and battery is not so good as was on MDM.
I spend last few days reading about kernels... I was thinking to try wanam's Adam kernel, but i see he took out the download links.
Can someone recommend a kernel that will get rid completely of scrolling lags and have good battery like stock ones or better?
Cheers

Thanks for your reply, but i actually like/enjoy TW on this phone animations and effects. So there is no way i will take out the lockscreen or any animations, just to make something work as it should.
Maybe someone else have a suggestion for a stable kernel which is completely lag free and has very good battery.
Any suggestions?
Now i'm really getting a bit pissed off.
I flashed the BTU MGA rom few times by now with full wipe before and after.
I rooted it and delete some on sammy's bloat.
My problem is that sometimes when swiping through app drawer pages lags like a piece of $h!t, sometimes is butter smooth... am i the only with this problem?
Oh, and i almost forgot about.. i have a horrible lag while scrolling through calls/messages Logs also.
I am the only one experiencing all those lags/stutters or not?:crying:

LAG! :'(

Just got my OP6T yesterday and I'm getting lots of lag. Mostly scrolling lag when I'm scrolling slow through the app drawer, play store, etc. (fast scrolling is always smooth) I've also experienced lag in general while using the launcher and just doing normal functions. This is my first OnePlus device and I've always heard they are super smooth with no lag and so far this has not been the case for me.
Is my device defective? Is there some known issue I can fix? I don't want to have to return it but I don't want a laggy phone either.
(UPDATE) The cause for the lag seems to be gesture navigation and also immersive mode via a third party app (immersive mode is not a feature within the device but can be accessed by apps even without root). I've been using gesture navigation since I bought the phone and have had scrolling lag the whole time. I switched to the traditional 3 button nav last night and the lag was gone. Another user reported they are having terrible lag issues while using immersive mode but once they disable it the lag is completely gone.
Did you install any apps yet? Note most 3rd party apps are not fully well versed on Android 9.
Try updating to 9.0.5 and see if the problem persist. When I received the phone, I turned animation scale off. You can try that and see if you still notice lag.
You may have a defective one. Mine is extremely smooth. Dare I say it might be the smoothest Android experience I've ever had.

Yes, I've installed my normal apps which is only like 30. I'm not a big app user so don't have tons and all those I use have worked good on pie for some time. I also have a Pixel 2XL and have been on Pie since the second beta last spring.

I also have a Pixel 2XL and didn't notice the lags I'm getting on the OP6T. I'm currently troubleshooting to see if I can find a solution.
I have not experienced one time lag as I can remember last days. I updated to latest firmware straight away
I'm on 9.0.4 - not done anything at all with it, and it's as fast as anything. If it's like that out of the box then it sounds like you've got a defective device.
I'm also getting stuttery scrolling on most apps. Came from Pixel 2xl and it was smoother than this. Should I be concerned I have a faulty device? My first one plus phone as well. It's not bad enough to bail on device but is definitely noticable and annoying.
Omg what's goin on in here, i came straight from pixel 2 xl and 6t feeeeels far more smooth than pixel, its blazing fast,
Who is your carrier? Maybe it's something specific to them?

Don't get me wrong. This thing is way faster than the p2xl. Its just when I'm scrolling slowly reading on different apps, it misses here and there. Stuttery scrolling. It seems a little better after the update. I was scrolling on Zedge and it was like it was 10 fps..

I installed ElementalX kernel and so far it seems to have fixed the stutter while scrolling. I'm paying close attention and if it keeps up I'll be returning it for another device. The only reason I'm stressing it so much is one of the main reasons I bought it is because for years the OnePlus devices have been praised for being super smooth, fast, with no UI lag. Lag, frame drops, stutter, and UI faults of any sort bother me greatly. My Pixel2XL has had a bit of lag here and there but overall it's been smooth and pleasant to use so I can't handle anything less.

This is exactly the issue I've experienced. It's only during slow scrolling. I've also had lag in other areas like opening folders and closing apps but it's mostly been while scrolling -- but like I said so far the ElementalX kernel seems to have fixed it.

I changed all the cpu cores to their max frequency but left the governors default. That is it. Battery life seems the same.
I will say also that I noticed within EX Kernel Manager that the CPU cores were running very low frequencies by default which makes me wonder if for some reason my device had drastically underclocked cores. The max frequency I was seeing on any cores was 1.7GHz.

Yea, I think that's the problem since the cpu is designed to go to 2.8GHz on the main cores. For whatever reason mine were never going above 1.7. I'm hoping some custom ROMs and kernels will resolve this issue.
