Unable to send emails with attachments with PPC Outlook

Hi,
I created a Cellular Line-connection that works great on my XDA II. I'm able to surf, getting POP-email and send simple text-based emails.
My POP and SMTP-settings seem to be correct.
I'm trying to send an email with an attachment (a picture), but this won't work! Through ActiveSync, this works, only when I'm using my dail-up connection, it won't work! I tried to same using GPRS, but this won't work too.
How can I send emails WITH attchments using PPC Outlook?
Thanks in advance!
Sam

Help! Can't send emails. 'Invalid message recipients'

Hi,
Can't seem to send any emails from my Tiscali account. Downloading emails is fine, but it will not send anything, and replies with:
(Subject)
System Administrator
Invalid Message Recipients
(Email Content)
Your message 'message title' was not sent and has been moved to the drafts folder.
The following recipients are invalid:
'recipients email'
Whats going on?!?!!
Cheers

I had this problem too to start with..
I got round it by using the Outgoing mail server as smtp.t-email.co.uk
I use that for NTL mail.
Also, make sure that you have the option for 'Outgoing mail requires authentication' is you need it.
I use this for all my other pop3 mail accounts.
Hope that does it for you
ohh...That's for T-mobile however..
No joy Im afraid. Changed to 'Outgoing mail requires authentification'....same response. Even tried smtp.t-email.co.uk  but still nothing....thanks anyway though.
Anyone got the answer???
HPJ
this is to do with your smtp server's security settings. You must use the smtp server provided by whoever is connecting you. In this case if it's t-mobile 3G or gprs, then you must use correct t-mobile smtp server. You will then very likely find that it fails when you send mail via your PC activesync as your PC is connected to the internet via your BT ADSL account (or whatever) which has not been allowed by t-mobile. get the plot?
not really...I'm afraid I am a total novice at this stuff....in fact I'm surprised I have got this far!
It is a tiscali account. I have used all the tscali settings as requested, and as worked on my xda2s. For some reason it just doesnt work on my exec.
HPJ
In my experience, if you're using an O2 then it should be
smtp.o2.co.uk for the outgoing server....try it with authentication ON and OFF and see which works. I can't remember off-hand as I haven't really used any of my XDA's for outgoing mail, only incoming.
Cheers
Ant
cheers ant, I'll give it a go a little later and let you know......fingers crossed...

yep, I've been messing around with settings, and now I cant even send emails from my Tiscali account on my PC.
I give up.
The real irony is that I own an IT Consultancy company .........note the word 'own'....not 'work in'.....hence my complete incompetence with IT. Where the hell are my consultants when you need em eh?!?!?!
I'm your friendly neighbourhood it consultant
It doesn't matter what you are connected to to receive e mails. ie you could be on NTL and receive by e mails & vice verca
When you are sending e mails it is a diffent story.
If you are on NTL you have to use the NTL smtp address & if you are on BT you have to use your BT smtp address
o2 is smtp.o2.co.uk
Just tested it on mine & it works
& if u still have probs with your home one.
I'll guide u through that.
Just add me to msn

mate, thank you very much, that's a very kind offer. I will try again and see what happens, and post my (hopefully successful) results soon.
cheers

Crossed fingers
Just set your outoing mail server to whatever connection you are using to send the mail. The golden rule.
If you have setup your connection to work via GPRS, you will find it wont send mail when connected to WI-FI as its using a different connection and the outgoing mail server would have to be changed
I'VE FINALLY DONE IT!!!!
thanks everyone for your help. I'd like to say that will be my last dumb ass question, however I have a feeling it won't be!
cheers

Problems sending emails via exchange server

Hi All,
I have just purchased a QTEK 9100 running WM5 and have configured up my Push Mail to connect to my company's Exchange email server. I am able to download emails from my company's email server but am not able to send emails and I get the message "invalid receipt address". Currently I am connecting to the internet via ActiveSync... Would appreciate if someone can advise if I am doing something wrong here...
Thanks in advance.
I don't use push email, but are you using the right smtp address? you usually have to go via the phone operators smtp first.

I even tried to delete the account and then recreate it by doing the setup again.....this is the only account that wont send emails.... it's a IMAP aol account...please help

Are you connected via WiFi to your own internet gateway at home, or are you connected via GPRS?
via GPRS/EDGE
Try an alternative smtp server for your outgoing mail and see if that makes a difference.
does anyone know any alternative smtp server for aol? Im currently using smtp.aol.com thanks in advance
anyone? please help...cant send emails for a week now.
bump..i've seen a few people lost on howard forums that this has been an issue with aol smtp servers...can anyone confirm this?
i'm having the same problem with sending emails
I'm having the same problem - In fact, I have the same problem when using WiFi on my home network, while my home computer using Outlook (with the same settings) running on the SAME WiFi network connects to AOL's SMTP just fine.
I'm stumped.

Default Email Client Can't Send Yahoo Mails

Anybody experiencing an issue like mine?
I'm able to receive my Yahoo! emails through the default email client but can't send from it.
It keeps staying in my Outbox and prompts a connection error. I've tried countless SMTP server settings to no avail.
1. android.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
2. smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
3. smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Anyone has a solution to this?

Download the official Yahoo Mail app. It's actually pretty nice and does Push.

im surprised you were even able to set up your yahoomail. i've never been able to set up my yahoo on stock email client on any android devices i've owned. always had to use the yahoomail app.
Mine works fine using:
android.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Sent from my Google Nexus S using XDA App
