Am I the only one having issues tryin' to send a mass txt? I've tried sending a mass txt to at least 8+ folks and the status stays at "Sending..."
I've tried everything from pullin' out the battery and SIM card to fully resetting the phone but still no luck... I know its not a "network" issue because I can send the mass txt from my BB Bold 9700 without any issues.
Anyone else having this issue???

I use Handcent SMS but didn't have any problems sending mass text to around 16 people.
Hmmm ok let me give that app a shot because this **** is annoying the hell out of me!

Handcents a way better messaging application anyways with tons of customization and a million options

I had this problem before on my g1 it is a network problem not a phone problem. But try the other app and see if that works for u
Tmobile themselves have told me to send ur self two mms whenever getting a new phone not sure if that will help

Yeah I've already sent myself txt msg's... is this a limit for the stock msg app? I just don't see why I can't send a mass txt to 8 folks...

I was having the same problem. The way I fixed it was by going to system updates and doing the update profile option.Apparently this pulls the correct settings down from the network.

same here..i forgot that step lol
all is good now
i also ported a number over from tmo. had to call sprint and have my services 'restarted'. i could receive, but not send texts. all is good now
Whenever someone sends me a pic by mms it fails to download it.. it says "generic network fail" or something like that .. if I install a new Rom would this fix the problem or install a new kernel?

is your 3g on?
and are you already rooted and running a rom and if so which one?
if this just started then you need to call tech support as its not anything you or the phone is doing, it sounds more like sprint having issues.
I get this problem when Wifi is on.
I just disable Wifi really quick and the picture downloads.
Switch from the stock messaging app to Handcent or ChompSMS...
Thanks let me see if those work.. I'm using virus Rom

I've notcied that I need to turn off wifi sometimes for the mms to download, anyone know why that is?

IDK but it seems to work for me too....
I am having the little tape icon for voice mail and it won't go away.

make sure you listen to the whole voicemail before ending the call. or just delete the damn thing.
I had this on my Touch Pro2, it turns out it was a damaged SIM card!
Damn damaged similar card?

Did you try pulling down the notification bar and pressing the clear button
G2 cm6.1.1
Call your number. Save a voicemail, then listen and delete it. I had this problem and doing this worked for me.
There is no clear button when I pull it down. I logged out of gv and switched my vm settings to my carrier. The tape icon is for regular vm. When I leave a message it doesn't register. They keep getting stored in gv. If I sign into gv they are all there.
God this is frustrating..
I did put in my old sim card to copy over my phone numbers, could that have anything to do with it?

I had this issue before. I called my carrier and they reset my voicemail inbox which solved it for me.

This, please people - use common sense, its a network issue, not hardware. Call TMO and tell them your MWI is stuck

Hey all,
I have a weird issue with picture messaging on my G2. I am running stock 2.2 and using the stock messaging app. When I recieve messages they show up as a 5 second 'video preview' of the picture that is coming through, and the preview is a very small picture. This happens when any of my friends send me a pic- android, iphone, BB users. It also doesnt give me the option to save the message. It used to not do this, only started doing this a few months ago. I tried calling into T-Mobile technical support but they couldnt help. In the past month I have used 2 different G2s and a Nexus S. Do you think its a SIM card issue? Or is this how Android picture messaging is?
That's just how it is. I recommended using a different messaging app, or rooting your phone and put a different rom on it that doesn't have that issue.

I noticed as well, thanks for the info. Any recommendations on which sms app to use?

hi there i dont know if im in the right section but i need your help. my gf is in uk now and she had put her o2 number to her htc wildfire. the problem is everytime i sent her an sms she has to compose an new sms instead of replying me because everytime she reply's me it says " message not sent" and the problem is id does this only if i sent her an sms. if i sent from an other phone it works fine. i told her to put her SIM card to an other phone an put an other number to the htc and i sent an sms to both numbers just to see if its the SIM fault or the phone and both numbers worked fine :S
the problem is only when she puts o2 number back to the htc. i search all over the web and i even try the tutorial about the Handcent SMS and still no luck. is there something else i must do?
Same thing happens when my girlfriends mother texts her, they are both on o2 but the opposite way round, my girl has a wildfire and her mother a really old Samsung. Her mum cannot reply to messages from my girlfriends wildfire but can send them back if she starts a new message, I thought it was just a one off bug in her mums phone till I read this. Maybe its a bug in o2's system.
Dunno how to fix it though sorry.
