Have you tried the default settings for a @hotmail account? I have an @aol account set up and that's IMAP and it seems to work okay.

Apparently from every article I can find Hotmail for some reason doesn't support IMAP. So I was hoping there was another way, so looks like the above is it.
sometimes it seems to stalling while fetching email.. even with the stallfix.... with standard rom, anyone has this lag too?
Me too. That's why I don't use it for mail anymore until I can find ways to speed it up. I also have problem setting up yahoo mail. Anyone knows how to do it?
Use k9 app for mail. It is better.
For yahoo try yahoo mail app.

about yahoo mail, but I want a universal mailbox, where all my 7 email accounts can be read within the same inbox. I like K9 more than stock mail, but it's still too slow for me.
For information how do you use the mail app ?
Frequency of sync, number of days/week/month of mail synced, number of mail displayed in the inbox ...
thanks
Having probem with hotmail, using web browser instead of mail client since last night the log in page when downloaded is completely blank. Been like this since last night. Have tried clearing cache and history, rebooted phone also, but still same. Anyone else had this problem?
Exactly the same here. White screen constantly
how come you're not using the mail client..??

Wierd.. I'm running rooted 024 n hotmail via dolphin browser works perfectly normal for me. looks more neater/nicer than before!!

On your phone, manually enter the website http://mobile.live.com
That should bring you to the new version of the hotmail site.
I just tried the new hotmail website using dolphin browser, nice, it allows me to dl the attachment now.

same problem here
You can now forward your hotmail to any email address. I have mine forwarded to my gmail account and use gmail to read/reply. Works awesome.
I still don't understand why you aren't all using the mail app to sync with your Hotmail account.. I do ... and it works fine.

If I use the mail app to sync my hotmail account, it can only sync every 5 minutes. With Gmail, it is almost instantaneous (like push email).
I will get my hotmail email faster via forwarding to my gmail account that having the mail app check every 5 minutes.
That is why I do it via Gmail.

But why should you have to do this?
I should be able to goto the hotmail site and view emails like
I did before.
I don't understand the need to forward my msgs to another email addy when i already ahve one...that's crazy!
There must be a solution?
Hotmail site gives me a blank page on the default browser, however! it works on opera browser

Actually, it does but only on Windows Mobile devices. I used to have push with hotmail and Exchange at the same time with Windows Mobile.

Guess its just not supported for android then
For some reason one of my gmail accounts (non default account) automatically marks all my email as read. I noticed I wasn't getting very many emails then figured out they were coming in but not as new. What gives?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
i also noticed this. So i just switched from gmail app to pop3 or imap email setup from gmail. Now i dont have any attachment problems anymore. i hate gmail
Well is there any other options? I kinda like gmail...

Ok sorry for posting this, it was a dumb mistake. I made a filter on my gmail account so I could mark all my spam as read, but forgot to remove it... Im a dummy
Why is there no hotmail widget for android? The mail app/widget we have is not of much help. I can't see the folders I have created and neither does it sync properly.
After reading mails on phone, it will be unread and if I delete it here on the phone, it will still be there when I use the web version. Any solution?

Setup hotmail using Exchange, google it up.
Configure your Exchange ActiveSync or use Gmail.
