I set the alarm and it simply did not work.
Here is what I did:
From one of my panels, forgot the name but there is also a "Professional" version of this one, I click on the default date/time/appointment icon.
At the bottom I click on Alarms.
I go to the first alarm and set it.
I go to the 2nd alarm and set it.
Alarm #2 worked one of the 2 days I set it for.
Alarm #1 did not work at all.
I also checked the box "Sound alarms even when the device is set to vibrate or silent."
Any suggestions or should I just throw this phone in the river!!!
I am getting close to that point.

I've been through all the settings and i can't for the life of me find the 'change alarm tone' setting!! I know it's probably right infront of me but i just can't locate it, sorry for this dumb question
When you click on the alarm to set the time you have a setting near the bottom that says "Alarm sound". I presume that's what you are after, although that sounds too obvious

Under the description box it says alarm sound touch that and it will bring up a menu for sounds !
That's where i was going wrong. I had set the alram times for the week and didn't think of going back into that bit doh!!!

Does anyone have the issue of their alarm not showing up on the homescreen, even though it is turned on when you bring up the alarm setup screen? My alarm doesn't work, nor does it display, and when it says it is on. Does anyone have any insight, or fix to this problem. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
compare the alarms you set in htc with the alarm details in
settings menu all settings clocks and alarms
you may well find that one set has different alarm sound set, which may or may not even exist.
I have also seen winmo have problems with alarms if you leave the message box blank.
That unfortunately did not work, they both have matching "ringtones" and also the same description, but it doesn't show up. Any other suggestions?
in settings menu all settings sounds and notifications, notifications tab in the event drop down, select "reminders" and ensure show on screen is ticked.
oh and in clocks and alarms, alarms tab, make sure "sound even if phone is set to silent" is ticked (or words to that effect)
make sure the "S" for Saturday which is today is selected.

Yup, I too have the same prob, I had similar probs on MANILA 2D on my ELF too..!!!
I think there's some prob with the HTC Manla & Sense..!!!
The only solution is to download some ALARM APP like G-Alarm..!!!
Mine is working fine.

I have this same issue, and it is not a specific rom that this bug is in because I tried a few different ones and the problem still occurred. It seems like the alarm will only turn on if you set it for the next day. If you set it two days from now then it won't show up as it being on.
I am currently using HTC's default alarm app, but I'm finding the alarm tone won't repeat and it will only ring out once, for say 3-4 seconds, and none of the tones seem to be any longer.
This is an issue for a heavy sleeper like me as I can often sleep though this and I'm partial to the odd snooze so there might 3 or 4 chances for me to do this! .
Anyone found a way to keep the alarm ringing out (repeating) till I turn it off. I'm using Dutty's ROM so I I'm not sure whether this is just a quirk of his ROM or just a crap alarm from HTC.
Help or reccomendations of good alarm apps welcome!
its not the rom, its the crappy alarm from windows mobile.. really useless imo.

the main thing i have found since using 6.5.x build roms is that the repeat problem no longer occurs. It repeats until you stop it.
One suggestion i can offer is to forget about setting up the alarms through the htc alarms tab, do them direct into settings - menu - all settings - clocks and alarms.
you will find 1 - there are more alarm sounds available, (which tells me the HTC alarms tab isn't working exactly the same as the system one)
and
2 - the HTC alarms tab will copy what you put in the system alarms screen, BUT setting directly into the HTC alarms doesnt always copy through to the system alarms tab.
I also use G-alarm, its great. But here is a free one thats looks like G-alarm

I have "Alarm-Light" selected as my alarm tone, and the thing doesn't shut up until I've stopped it.
Hi there, I can't seem to access the alarm setting screen, am I correct in saying you access is via touching the clock or alarm tab from the home screen?
This isn't bringing anything up, is there another way of accessing it, I can't find one.

I just get close to clock or the words alarm off, it pops up!! Somethings messed up. I'm not sure about any settings, none that I know of. I've got cookies home tab, & editor. Shouldn't matter..

if my bluetooth headset is switched on...my alarm on my phone will not ring..
it will only ring in the headset..
i don't wear my heatset when i am sleeping...
anyway to set alarm to ring on phone instead?

Has anyone managed to get the smart alarm to work?
Everytime I set it up the regular alarm rings, which is too bad since I liked the smart alarm tunes. Not too much information out there about this.

My smart alarm works, my only issue with it is that snooze won't work when smart alarm is activated.

The Smart Alarm is in addition to the regular alarm. For example, if you set your alarm for 7:00 am and set the Smart Alarm for 3 mins, the Smart Alarm will start off at 6:57. Then the regular alarm goes off at 7:00 in case the SA hasn't woken you up yet.
I also noticed that if I fiddled with the alarm tone at all, the Smart Alarm would uncheck itself. When you've finished making all the alarm adjustments that you want to, go back and make sure Smart Alarm is still checked.

Ha thanks! Evidently when testing this alarm, i was setting the alarm for 2-3 min ahead of time, so the smart alarm didn't have a chance to go off before the regular alarm. Guess i just though that the time set was for the smart alarm to go off not 1-30 min with the smart alarm, then the regular alarm sounding at the end of the set period. This should be put in a FAQ methinks. Doesn't outline it in the user manual...IDK maybe it's just me.
It's not just you. I totally agree that it should be in the manual. I had to run a Google search to figure that out.
